Hello to anyone who is reading! ^_^ Just wanna say thanks to Water Viper for his review: my very first one! Anyway, hope you enjoy Chapter 6! Chapter 6 Kyogre and Lugia dove downwards, sending powerful beams of energy exploding behind them, striking the Team Rocket submarines that were in pursuit. “Up!” Lugia ordered, his psychic energy projecting his thoughts into words. Kyogre shot towards the surface while Lugia turned and shot a Hydro Pump towards the advancing machines. Giovanni watched all of this from the comfort of his office, his T.V screen buzzing. His eyes followed Kyogre as it swam away. “Follow Kyogre. I need them together.” he said, his microphone attached to his collar. The order was heard throughout all the submarines and they immediately got working. Lugia stopped his Hydro Pump, observing the submarines as they pointed upwards and moved forward. Lugia immediately raced for Kyogre, shouting, “Get out of here!” “Now.” Giovanni said. One of the submarines opened its hull, letting out a group of divers. One of them was holding the last tablet Ash had retrieved, drawings of the sun, cloud, lightning and rain etched on the front. Lugia and Kyogre raced for the surface. But to no avail. The tablet suddenly began to shimmer, and energy exploded from its edges, speeding to the two legendaries, encircling them and trapping them. In the submarines, the sailors gaped at the energy through the main screen in the Control room. “That’s…. that’s impossible…..” one of them whispered. The energy was a mix of dark clouds, electricity and flames, the water of the sea beginning to bubble. Power emanated from it, making all of the sailor’s hearts sink and their mouths dry. It was evil. Lugia and Kyogre knew this. “Fight it, Kyogre!” Lugia cried, but it was too late. Deep gashes appeared on Lugia’s wings, blood drifting into the water around him. He roared in pain. Kyogre had just fallen asleep. “NO! KYOGRE! WAKE UP! AGGHHRRR!!” Lugia’s wings suddenly split right open. He could no longer move them. He roared one last time, before Giovanni gave the order, and one of the divers revealed a gun from their belt, firing two Rocket Balls directly at Lugia and Kyogre. * * * * Ash woke with a start, sweat sliding down his face and dripping from his chin onto his bare chest. It was pitch black outside. Ash felt slowly about for his bedside lamp, before finally switching it on. He lay back on his bed, letting the light wash over him. “We’ll need to camp here tonight.” “But the bugs-” “The bugs won’t touch you when I’m here, Misty, okay?” “No, it’s not okay! I could wake up tomorrow with Spinarak eggs in my arm or something!” “Misty, it’s a bloody forest not a Drug Den! Now get out your sleeping bag and lie down here beside me.” “But-” “Do it!” “No!” “Fine.” “Oh alright, have it your way!” “I think I will, thanks.” “Gnnn!” “Not that close!” “Look, I’m frigging terrified here!” “Just move a bit!” “No!” “Misty- That’s it, if you won’t move yourself, I will!” “What-? Get off me!” “Move!” “No! ....” “…. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…” “….. you perve.” “Wha!? I didn’t mean to! I mean, it was sticking out and everything and- It was your fault! You didn’t move!” “You touched my boob and you’re saying it was my fault?” “But-but-Misty!” “It’s alright, you big idiot.” “…. Erm, Misty…” “What?” “Your hands on my sleeping bag….” “Sorry, it’s just more comfy this way. I’ve got a big root in my back and-” “Misty, I don’t think you know what you’re touchi-” “OH MY GOD!” Ash laughed softly. He had loved this memory. It had made him feel warm and fuzzy inside. But, now, it filled him with a cold sadness, as the memory of Misty’s death plagued his thoughts of her. A beeping noise suddenly filled the room. “What-?” Ash got out of his bed. The beeping seemed to be coming from his bag. Investigating, he discovered his Pokenav shaking like crazy. He opened it, looked at the flashing screen then rushed for his clothes that were lying out on his desk. The Pokenav screen flashed ‘TABLET DETECTED’, and Ash had to leave now. He knew that these tablets only had short bursts of energy which could be detected, and he had to get outside and get a better signal, allowing the proper location to be downloaded. If he didn’t, it could be weeks before the next energy burst. Zipping up his jeans, Ash snatched up the Pokenav and flung open his door before hurtling across the hallway, down the stairs and out into the night. “DOWNLOAD COMPLETE!” his Pokenav crackled, and Ash gaped down at the screen that shone through the dark. He choked. It said: Pewter City. “No….” Ash moaned, “I can’t go there! I can’t!” * * * * He did. And not only that, Delia, Oak, Tracy and Charizard came too, though Charizard stayed in his Pokeball. It felt weird to walk through Pewter City, when last time he did so it had been preparing for war. And people recognised him. They roared things at him from across the road, forcing him to hurry on. “You-YOU! YOU BASTARD!” “IT’S HIM!” “YOU BETRAYING PIECE OF SH-” Ash tried to block out the shouts, but they got through all the same. Delia held his arm as they ran, comforting him. Ash didn’t feel her touch. He could only run, and remember the explosions and screams of that day, the shouts from the people in the street mixing with it. They soon ran past the Gym. Ash stopped. “Ash! Quickly!” Oak said. Ash looked sideways at the Gym. He slowly turned and walked towards it. “What’re you doing?” Tracy exclaimed. “Honey!” Delia whispered urgently. “Brock needs to know the truth. I can’t have him thinking I’m a traitor forever. I just can’t.” The Gym doors slid open. Ash walked inside. He took a deep breath. “Bro-” WHAM! Something hit him right in the back of the head, sending him sprawling forwards. “GET OUT OF MY GYM!!!” Brock roared, saucepan in hand. On his knees, Ash clutched his throbbing head. “Why is it always there!?” he roared, jumping up from his knees and over to Brock. They were almost nose to nose. “ASH!” Delia ran inside. “Y-you’re bleeding!” Ash then punched Brock. “ASH!!” “I CAME HERE TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH ABOUT ME LEAVING!!!” “I ALREADY KNOW YOU TREACHEROUS SCUMBAG!!!” Brock tried to punch back but Ash dodged and kicked his shins, then Brock head- butted Ash’s knees making him buckle. They both lay on the floor, whining in pain. Oak and Tracy entered. “What happened!?” Tracy asked. Delia frowned. “Puberty happened Tracy, now get me some plasters.”
