“Welcome everyone to the first day of your Pokemon Trainers School! As you know we have each given you one Pokemon, whether you had one or not. Now as you may or may not know this but this week is the Beginners Tournament. All of you first years will compete to see who is the best. After this every other month we have a tournament for each year and those four people will each receive a new Pokemon,” the principal said to the crowd of trainers. There were thirty two new trainers at the school all itchy to battle. We will now determine who will battle in what order.

{So you don’t have to hear everyone’s names I will just tell you of the current characters} “The first match is Jack versus Derek! The second match is Joe versus Zach! {Blah, blah, blah} The fourth match is Bill versus Charlene! {Blah, blah, blah} The ninth match is Jill versus Carl! {Blah, blah, blah} The eleventh match is Liz versus Mandy! {Blah, blah, blah} And the last but not least match is Bow versus Danielle! Let the tournament commence!” the principal said with everyone being led into an indoor battle arena, at least it was until it’s top open and daylight came streaming in.

“Will the first two challengers please step unto the trainers spots!” a referee said pointing to opposite sides of the arena. Jack’s opponent took the one nearest them and Jack got on the other one. “This will be a one on one Pokemon match!” The referee shouted on the sidelines.

“Now to see which trainer will go first!” the principal added talking on a microphone. And using the time tested way of deciding things, they flipped a coin. Derek lost the flip and he chose first.

“Go! Staryu!” Derek yelled and heaved a Pokeball into the arena revealing the water star Pokemon.

“It seems that Derek from Cerulean City has started off with a water type pokemon! Jack is from Cinnabar and they are notorious for using fire types! Jack may already be at a disadvantage!” the principal said.

“Do you think he can win?” Jill asked with Pichu in her lap.

“Yeh of course. Every trainer who bases himself in one type always knows how to deal with a disadvantage,” Bill quipped reassuring Jill.

“Hey but he is a beginner like us so has he thought this through?” Liz asked.

“We’re about to find out,” Bill said when Jack took a Pokeball from his belt and enlarging it.

“Go Eevee!” Jack yelled with his Eevee coming out and growling at Staryu.

“It seems that Jack has a normal type Pokemon to deal with the water but is it enough?” The principal said.

“Tackle Attack, Eevee!” Jack yelled and Eevee hurled herself {That’s right. I’m making Eevee a girl} at Staryu who didn’t have time to dodge. It hit head on and Staryu hit the ground but got back up determined to fight on.

“Water Gun!” Derek yelled and Staryu hit Eevee with a rush of water, Eevee got back up ready to continue.

“Sand Attack!” Jack yelled and Eevee got some sand from the ground and threw it at Staryu temporarily blinding him. Eevee was then instructed to get behind him and with a powerful Skull Bash, Eevee won.

“Return!” Both the trainers yelled bringing back their Pokemon.

“And Jack wins!” The principal yelled in the microphone. “Jack moves on!”

“Good job Jack!” Bill said when he went up to join his friends.

“Yeh, but I bet if you didn’t have Eevee you who have lost,” Liz said.

“I don’t know his Charmander is pretty strong,” Bill said.

“I’m glad you won. I wonder if any of us are going to the final match?” Jill asked.

“I’d use Arbok but I tried to train him and he doesn’t like me yet. Maybe I’ll use him against Jack if I battle him,” Bill said knowing if he got that far his Arbok may be listening to him by then.

“Yeh. But now I want to watch this match. It’ll determine who I fight next,” Jack said returning his attention to the battle. Joe won using a powerful Torchic.

“I want a Torchic,” Jack whined and watched the next battle.

A.N. The next part will have Bill battling in it. Thinking about the pace I have been going on this, this one will probably be real long. After this touranment there will be the first day of school then who knows what. That’s right. Most of the time I have an ending in mind by now. With the exception of my miscellaneous adventures one which will probably have no ending. PLEASE REVIEW! I asked nicely.
