“Mandy vs. Liz! This is the last match of the preliminaries! And a flip of the coin… Liz chooses first!” the principal said.

“Get’em Treecko!” Liz shouted and Treecko came out of his Pokeball ready to fight.

“Pidgey! Take out that lizard!” Mandy yelled and brought out h bird Pokemon.

“Pound!” liz yelled and Treecko jumped in the air and pummeled Pidgey with his tail. Pidgey retaliated with a Gust. Treecko was hit hard.

“Bullet Seed!” Liz yelled and Treecko inhaled deeply and began spitting seeds at Pidgey. One hit Pidgey in the wing and he went falling down.

“Finish it with Pound!” Liz yelled and Treecko won hitting Pidgey hard.

“And Liz is the winner! What a spectacular match! Well next day we have the next round. Everyone please leave the stadium.

After Liz joined the others they were about to leave the stadium when they heard a voice.

“Jack!” the voice said. “Can I talk to you?”

Jack looked over to the owner of the voice. He was six foot two, dark brown hair, and in good shape, he was accompanied by a Charmander.

“Who are you?” Jack asked.

“My name is Lewis Giovanni. I’m a teacher. I teach Specific Type battling,” Lewis answered.

“Uncle Lewis! I was wondering where you were!” Jill yelled and ran up to Lewis.

“Hi Jill,” Lewis said and patted her on the head. “You’ve gotten taller haven’t you?”

“Why’d yah call me?” Jack asked walking up.

“I couldn’t help noticing your Charmander. Charmander is my favorite Pokemon,” Lewis said facing Jack.

“Me too! Say if you are as powerful as I’ve heard why is your Charmander still a Charmander?” Jack asked.

“One, he doesn’t want to evolve. Two, I prefer Charmanders and three. This Charmander can take out any Charizard,” Lewis answered with his Charmander beaming.

“I’ve heard of you too. Is it true your Charmander is physic?” Bill asked.

“Yes. And so am I,” Lewis said answering Bill’s next question before he asked it.

“You couldn’t beat my dad’s Charizard!” Jill said. “You didn’t win during the league against him.”

“That’s because I didn’t want to be League Champion. I only participated to make sure Ash was good enough for title of Pokemon Master. I’ve been one longer then anyone other then Lance,” Lewis answered. Charmander and Seker were looking at each, measuring the others strength.

“Is it true that your father started Team Rocket?” Liz asked.

Lewis sighed. “Yes that’s true. If he hadn’t he may not have been driven into madness that threatened the world.”

“Threatened the world?” Jack asked confused.

“When I was fourteen, my dad captured the powerful Mendcross. With your parent’s help Jill,” he said nodding towards Jill, “he was defeated. My dad lost his life as well though. The only real family I have left is my sister, and she disappeared a few years ago.”

“What’s your sister’s name?” Liz asked speaking up again.

“Karen. Why do you ask?” Lewis answered looking closely at Liz.

“Just wondering. My parent’s have been all around the world and might have seen her,” Liz answered calmly.

“Ok,” Lewis said. “Well I hope all of you keep going and one of you to win this tournament. And Bill,” Lewis said whispering into Bill’s ear, “Don’t hold back next time.”

“Enough talk! Food!” Jill yelled and ran to the cafeteria with everyone else behind her.

“Wait up!” Jack and Liz yelled to Bill and Jill who was ahead of them for the food.

“Jill and Bill are a lot like their parents,” Lewis said, and with Charmadner right beside him, he walked off.
