Together Forever!! By Cheridan Brianna Nightwalker Note: I'm back! I haven't had a lot of time. Homework, basketball (I quit because it was boring), karate, and a project about propaganda. Anyways....I'm back! Some of you hardcore Sapphire and Ruby players will know that Wally is a pretty confident but sickly little dude. Well, I've made a few changes. Just to add to the....what's the word....interestingness (that's not a word) to the fic, I've changed Wally to a mentally, physically abused kid who lives with his uncle. Read more to see what happens. Also, I don't own Final Fantasy X-2. If I did, this would be a video game from Squaresoft right now. And I did not write the song, Real Emotion. Also, I'm not that good at writing scenes where people sing and dance, so try to keep up. And, the dance moves are inspired by the intro to Final Fantasy X-2. Also, if you know a child who is being abused, or is a child being abused, please call 1-800-4-A-CHILD. A child is waiting. Things like these can't wait. Part Two: Real Emotion Mauvilll City....possibly the smallest city May and Sarai had ever seen. "Kinda small, don't you think?" Sarai said. May shrugged. "Wattson's here. Let's rest before we battle him." "Yeah," Sarai yawned. "Cycling Road had a bunch of cute guys, but I think their egos were kinda oversized." At the Pokemon Center, they got their Pokemon healed and had a nice lunch. "Do you think Wattson will be hard?" Sarai asked. "Not if you use the right type. Do you have any ground types?" Sarai rubbed the back of her head as she thought. "No. Do you?" "You do have a ground type? Blue." Sarai's face was kinda blank, then she just nodded proudly. "I do! I forgot!" "Your light's must be dim upstairs." "At least I actually have lights upstairs." They laughed and threw French fries at each other. "Hey. Who's that kid?" Standing in front of the gym was a boy with green hair. Beside him was a tall man, talking to him in a low voice. Sarai could tell by the way that the boy was wiping his eyes and sniffing that the man was telling him some pretty bad stuff. "Excuse me?" Sarai said. "Um, sir?" The man looked up at her and smiled. "Yes?" "Is the gym open?" May asked. "Not right now. It should be open tomorrow," she man answered kindly. Sarai couldn't take her eyes off the boy. He was her age, but he looked sickly and weak. "Hi," she said gently. The boy flinched and shuddered. "Are you okay? My name's Sarai, what's yours?" "W-Wally. My name is Wally." The man grabbed Wally's hand tightly. "You're not ready for Wattson, Wally. Let's go home." The man dragged Wally to the park. Wally looked back at Sarai with eyes full of fear. Those eyes were saying something to her.... Save me.... "May," Sarai said to May that night in the hotel room. "I'm afraid." "Of what? Losing to Wattson?" "No. I was afraid for that boy. You see, when you think a kid is being abused, you need to look for symptoms." "You think that kid was being abused?" Sarai nodded. "If he is, it's none of your business. What happens in his house, stays at his house." "May, how could you say that? Wouldn't you want someone to help you if you were being abused?" May shrugged. "I guess." Sarai sighed and sat down on her bed. "My name is Luca," she started to sing. "I live on the second floor...." "Sarai, please." The next day as they headed towards the gym, Sarai and May saw Wally rocking back and forth on a bench in front of the Pokemon Center. "Hi, Wally," Sarai said sweetly, sitting next to him. "Oh! Hi, Sarai!" he exclaimed happily. "How are you?" "I'm great!" Sarai looked down at his arm. A long white sleeve was covering something darker than his skin. "Wally, did you get hurt?" Wally noticed her looking, and said, "It's just a burn from my Pokemon. She get's carried away sometimes." Sarai knew he was lying. It was all over his face. "Wally, is something going on at home?" "Sarai, stay out of the boy's business. We have to challenge Wattson before night." Sarai held up a hand to silence her. "Wally, something you wanna tell me?" "There's nothing I want to tell you! Listen to your friend, and stay out of my business!" Wally got off the bench and stormed off. "Way to go, Sherlock," May said. The battle against Wattson was easier than Sarai imagined it to be. Like May said, with the right Pokemon, it would be a breeze. After they got their Dynamo Badge, they decided they would go through the park to Verdanturf that night. May and Sarai saw Wally at the park, sitting next to a small Ralts. "Um, hey Wally." Wally glared up at Sarai, and then to the ground. "Hi." She sat down on the other side of him as she made the Ralts return to its Pokeball. "Wally, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. The easy way, you tell me what's going on and we can get your dad--." "Uncle." "Huh? Where are your parents?" "In Petalburg. They thought the air in Verdanturf would help my health." "Anyways, the hard way is we can get the police in on this. I don't wanna do the hard way, so...just tell me what's going on. Sing your heart out to me." Wally told her everything, from what his uncle does (we won't go into detail), and how he doesn't know why. Afterwards, Wally burst out crying, and started crying on Sarai's shoulder. "It's okay," she said getnly. "It's okay." Two days later.... "Wally! Are you coming?" Wally ran down 111 to May and Sarai. "Hello ladies!" he said happily. Wally was doing really good. His uncle was in therapy, and his bruises were recovering, and so was his self-esteem. He handed Sarai a thornless rose. "Thanks a lot Sarai," he said with a smile. "Without you, I don't know where I'd be!" Sarai smiled back at him. "I guess you owe me a whole bunch, huh?" As they strode down Route 111, Sarai broke out into her normal routine of her singing. "I remember everything you said that night, in your loneliness your heart was with me...." Wally whispered to May, "Is she always like this?" "Always." "Everything has changed, nothing feels the same. Are you lonely where you are right now...?" "Sarai, I've never heard that one before," May said. "I know. I wrote it myself. It's called Real Emotion." She continued to sing. "In my dreams, I can see you. I can feel you here somehow!" She started to dance around. May looked down to the ground in embarrassment. "Reality and dreaming feel the same whenever I'm with you. It must be real if...the way I feel is really just another sad illusion too. I don't believe it. You're close to me, wherever you may be." She stopped, and then turned around. "You know I just remembered?" "What Sarai?" She pumped her fist up into the air. "Thanksgiving! It's in three days!" "What!?! Geez mo netti, I forgot! I told my mom and dad I would be home by now!" "What about Wally?" "I'll come. May's dad is in Petalburg cuz he's the gym leader, your dad's nearby because she's a scientist, and my mom and dad are in Petalburg too. We could have Thanksgiving dinner together." "Wally, you are so brilliant!" Sarai kissed him on the cheek. "First stop, family!" She started to sing again. "What can I do for you? I can hear you!" Petalburg.... "DADDY!!!" Sarai ran into the arms of her father, from which she inherited her green eyes and red hair. "Hey, little girl! How's traveling?" "It's perfect! We made a new friend." Sarai gestured to Wally, who was blushing. "Hey, there. I'm Professor Maple." "Wally." "May?" May's mother, father, and brother Brendan came walking through the lab doors. "Hey!" May exclaimed, hugging them all. "It's great to see you all. Can't wait until Thanksgiving." Sarai's heart always jumped whenever Brendan was around, with his silver hair and pearly white teeth...he was as pretty as girl, but in manly way. "Hey, Wally," said Norman, May's dad. "Good to see you. You look better." "Yeah. Sarai helped me back in Verdanturf. "She did?" Professor Maple asked. "Yeah. I'll explain it all later, pops." Sarai sat on the stage in the local stadium (yes, I added a stadium). She twirled a microphone in her hand, going over the lyrics she had written and how they related to Thanksgiving so that she and May could perform ir for the family. "You got the moves yet?" May asked her. "Nope. I'll just make up some." Sarai stood up and started to do some dance moved while muttering the words to herself. The moves were graceful and smooth. "Is that it?" May asked. "Yes. I sing the first verse, we do the chorus together, you do the second verse, and so on." "Right. And the second verse goes...What should I believe in if my heart decides...?" That night came all too quickly. Sarai wasn't nervous at all, because it was family and friends...those friends just so happened to be everyone in Petalburg and Littleroot. May, on the other hand, wasn't too good with crowd. Sarai just told her to calm down and take deep breaths. Imagine everybody in their underoos. That wouldn't help either, so May just told herself to be calm. "Knock us dead, girls!" Norman shouted. May gave him a thumbs up. "What can I do for you?" Sarai stepped onto the stage as the song started. What can I do for you? What can I do for you? I can hear you... "I remember everything you said that night. In your loneliness, your heart was with me.And I know you were confused, I felt your fright. But you held my hand and stood so bravely." She did a whole bunch of elaborate hand movements, which included her pointing to family and more several times. "Everything has changed. Nothing feels the same. Are you lonely where you are right now? In my dreams I see you, I can feel you here somehow!" She and May broke out into their fast, almost dizzying dance. "Reality and dreaming feel the same whenever I'm with your. It must be real if the way I feel is really just another sad illusion too. I don't believe it. You're close to me, wherever you may be!" Sarai walked off the stage, leaving it all to May. "What should I believe in if my heart decides? To believe in you, to return one day. If I close my eyes, you're right there by my side. I refuse to think, you're so far away. Everything has changed, nothing feels the same. Are you lonely where you are tonight? In my dreams, I see you. I can feel you hold me tight!" They repeated the dance and the chorus with a few changes. "It's real emotion, shaking up the world, you're always here with me. And I am there beside you when you need me. It's a valid draw, just close your eyes and you'll see me there 'cause you..are..not..alone!" What can I do for you? "Oh yeah!" What can I do for you? "Oh, nah, nah!" What can I do for you? I can hear you! In the end, May thought it was kinda pointless, but she felt happy. Now it was time for dinner. Oh....yeah.
