Chapter 1 – A Disturbed Slumber The night was a calm, silent one, with the exception of the sound of the ocean’s waves lapping against the exterior of the SS Libra. The large cargo ship steadily made its way, cutting sharply through the water. It was a rather normal night, pretty much the same as the last six. It was almost a week ago now since the vessel departed from Vermillion City in the Kanto region. The ship was due to arrive at Gateon Port in the Orre region at 8:00am sharp the next morning. They were ahead of schedule, so the captain notified the crew via PA to take their time, relax. What could possibly go wrong? If only they had noticed the helicopters gaining on them. But since this wasn’t the case, the anonymous members of the aircrafts managed to slip on board and take every single person by surprise and round them into the staff room, bringing the ship to a halt. Nobody could identify any of their faces, as they wore grey helmets with visors that covered the top half of their faces. They appeared to be wearing some sort of grey uniform that neglected to cover up the joints that were concealed by black thermal underwear. All of them had vicious Pokemon standing by, many of which used String Shot to bind the crew so they were helpless. After finally getting over the shock of the attack, everyone recognized where they were from. A rather bulky looking member, which appeared to be in charge of the operation, emerged from the crowd of hijackers and said in a deep voice “We’re taking over this ship. You are dismissed until further notice.” A rather important looking man in a blue suit and a white cap stood up and stated “Until I see this ship safely to the harbor, every one of us will be working. That’s my direct order as captain.” The leader of the uninvited group just chuckled. “I don’t think you heard me clearly,” he said with a laugh, “you are dismissed until further notice.” With that, the group of capturers filed the entire crew out, one by one, and loaded them onto a large helicopter that was waiting nearby. The back of the helicopter was quite crammed, for there were over thirty crew members stuffed into the one little area. The captain was by a window, and looked out of it at his pride and joy in despair. As he watched the last of the heartless men get off, he felt a strange chill throughout his entire body, and then a monstrosity of a shadow flashed past the window. The captain desperately looked through the window at all angles to see if he could spot what the source of it was, but failed to find it. He then looked back at his ship, and wished he hadn’t. There, hovering just above the large vessel was a monster like no other that he had seen before. He had heard stories about the beast of the sea, but this was something else. It was a giant, violet colored creature with shining crimson eyes of pure evil that had no eyeball, but a mere slit. It had plates that were flattened to its back, but were soon raised. They were the same color as the sky blue patch on its stomach. Normally to any person the sky blue would be comforting, but paired with violet and crimson, two very violent colors, it was daunting more than anything. Its swaying tail was thick at the base, but thinned out to where two protective looking spikes protruded from either side of the tip. The toes on its huge feet were widely spread and looked rather sharp, yet the feet just drooped downwards. Its large wings conjured miniature waves away from the boat with the slightest flap. It had a long, thick neck with an intimidating looking head on top. It had a long, sharp horn that was bent backwards, yet almost seemed a little flexible. Around the rims of the evil, red eyes were sky blue, lightning bolt marks that stretched beyond the back of the head to reach the same length as the frightening horn. There was no beak, but the top jaw hooked down, similar to that of an eagle. On either side of the top jaw, a long tooth, sharp enough to rip open anything, protruded from the mouth. The captain’s jaw dropped at the sight of the creature and quietly said “Good grief, that monster is one not of this world.” The captain’s theory was demonstrated right before his eyes as the enormous beast displayed an out-of-this world power. It glowed a sky blue, as did the SS Libra, which was rising up out of the ocean towards the creature itself. It stopped just short of the creature, which began to head in another direction accompanied by four helicopters. The one the captain was aboard turned around and flew the opposite way, to an unknown destination. The evil beast kicked up sand at the slightest beat of its wings, despite how high above the desert dunes it was. It had been carrying the abandoned vessel for approximately two hours straight, yet was nowhere near tired. Not far behind were the helicopter escorts, ever so carefully watching from a distance as their creation navigated the deserted wasteland. However, the events that were to occur in this barren region were the last thing they suspected to happen, therefore left unattended. A little green Pokemon flitted around the skies aimlessly, as if it had nothing better to do. The creature looked up and noticed it, but thought nothing of it and continued to mind its own business. The units in the helicopters also noticed and identified it. “Hey, boss. We’ve got a Celebi in the region.” One of the pilots exclaimed. “Don’t worry about it,” the vast man replied, “its not like it’s gonna do anything.” That instant was where they completely screwed the plan up. The Celebi above gracefully fell towards the colossal carrier of the ship and evaded, just touching it as it passed by. It then pulled out of its dive and raced out of sight. Within the instant that Celebi braved touching the monstrosity, a strange power surged through the evil being’s body. Its eyes were clamped shut as images flashed through its mind. There were pictures of under the sea, above the sea, over a forest, a desert, everywhere. ‘What’s… happening… to me…’ the creature thought to itself weakly. It felt like it was being awakened from a terrible nightmare. Just then, a main picture of a spitting image of the creature flashed up and stayed in the creature’s mind. Its eyes, patch and plates were all ocean blue, a deeper color. Its pure white body slipped through the water with ease. Its feet were bigger, yet its toes were blunt and close together. All the same, it didn’t slow this creature down. ‘Who… what… is that thing?’ the creature said in its mind. It then opened its eyes, which no longer had slits, but rings. ‘Who… what am I? Why am I here?’ the confused monster lost all concentration of its psychic powers and the ship fell from its grasp and plunged towards the ocean of sand below. “Oh shh… we’re in trouble now!’ the pilot of one of the helicopters stated. The boss poked his head out the window and watched helplessly as the ship snapped in half on contact with the sand dunes. At the same time the creature was looking around, feeling lost. ‘Where am I? What were those pictures?’ it then turned its attention towards the helicopters. ‘Who are they? What do they want from me?’ The helicopters began edging towards the large brute, with steel poles extending from them. The creature hung in the air, completely clueless. Clueless, that is, until the shots were fired. Large rockets surged towards the creature, hitting it in the stomach several times. The confused beast roared in pain, before opening its powerful jaws and releasing a shadowy light which struck one of the helicopters with incredible force, causing it to plummet towards the ground. “Oh, no. Boss, we’ve got a bird down.” One of the pilots remarked. The superior was not amused. “Keep firing,” the muscle man ordered, “its gotta run out of stamina soon enough.” More rockets were launched at their own production, but this time none of them hit as it let loose yet another burst of shadowy light which destroyed the rockets and winged yet another helicopter. After finally taking the hint of the cruel men’s intentions, the creature turned tail and shot across the desert sands, out of sight. The bulky boss clambered out of the fallen helicopter with a radio in his hand, and gasped “superior… XD001 has escaped… we need another Extra Dark Pokemon… I repeat… XD001… has escaped.”
