Anthony‘s Quest: revisited Commander Kenny 2.0 *If you are new to reading Anthony’s quest, or are wondering why it’s called REVISITED, I suggest you NOT skim through the foreword, and instead, READ IT!!!* _____________________ Hi folks. After trying to make Anthony’s quest work out for the better, I eventually gave up on that story and recently thought it might be a good idea to start the whole story from scratch. I know what your thinking…“FUCK!” right? Well the reason I’m doing this is because, my other stories all have poor writing crutches and AWFUL continuity errors. Sometimes I brought up things that were never revisited like I said they would be. This will still have Anthony Marsh, Mike M., Rene’, Ash and Misty. I decided to take Amanda out for personal reasons but will instead be replaced with a different female character. I will also be introducing new character’s and I thought it would be cool to have cameos from other shows. I hope this story gets more reviews than the other shits I’ve written. But don’t worry. It’ll be just as edgy and hopefully as dirty. But also, I hope for it to be a lot more sophisticated. Okay…here we go. P.S.: if you would like to see my earlier shits, go to Commander Kenny. Two parts in one! Revisited--Chapter 1: Enter: The flashbacks are for effect! ----------------------------------------------------- It was just a normal Wednesday morning, and young Pokemon trainer Anthony Marsh was just polishing his Pokeballs (GETHA MIND OUTTA DA GUTTAH!), when his Charmander walked in the room with a bag of chips. “Oh, hi Charmander. You almost ready to come with me for the last day of school?” The boy asked with a smile. “Charr char.” The red Charmander replied happily. “Awesome! After this last day of 6th grade, I, Anthony Marsh, will go out on my summer journey to be the best Pokemon trainer in the city!” Anthony roared confidently. For the city of Medford it was just another day, but for the students at the Andrews Middle School, it’s was the beginning of a whole new beginning. At the moment, it was only 5 o’ clock. Anthony couldn’t sleep, he was so excited. Anthony was a sarcastic, intelligent, optimistic young revolutionary, cursed with cute-ness, who had a real knack for Pokemon training. In fact, unlike most kids, he got his first Pokemon when he was eight. How about I tell you that story first? ~*FLASH-BIZACKLE!!!*~ “Uh-oh! I think I’m lost…” Said a young Anthony. Anthony and his mother had recently moved to Medford to get out of the sprawling city and urban living, to live in a quaint, quiet laid-back farming community. Mrs. Marsh thought this might be a good place to raise her son, although the forests that surround the town and her house were filled with rough Pokemon who were not afraid to attack a child. He hadn’t started school yet, and his mother was still at work. His father had left the family years earlier to start a career as a Poke’ Ranger, but got lost in the sprawling woods and was never found. So, considering all of the factors in this equation, only one thing was on his mind: “If I died here, it’ll be a while before someone found out!” Anthony whined. Anthony was still a whiny little baby, though very intelligent for his young age. He actually surpassed his history teacher and science teacher in IQ back in kindergarten. Anyhoo, back to the story… “Oh god…oh god…SNAP OUT OF IT DAMNIT! You’re a smart kid! You can navigate your way out of here using the sources around you!” Anthony spoke quietly to himself. He looked around the thick forest that engulfed him. He looked back and front and side to side, but to no avail. Every which way was just thick trees and bushes. Suddenly he started to hear noises. “HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTT!!!!” “ROOOOAAARR!!!!” “HIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!” “Ah! Oh jeezus! Um…ok. I’ll just get some sticks and rocks and make a smoke signal. That’s what my daddy used to do!” Anthony said as he gathered up the needed materials. Anthony moved the stick in a very fast circular motion in his and on the other sticks and rocks, making a small, yet detectable fire. It also seemed to scare off most of the Pokemon. “Yes! I’ll be outta here in no time!” Anthony said, regaining his confidence. Just then, a gust of stray…eh…GUST came crashing down on the humble flame, leaving nothing more than some stinky smoke, and burnt out wood. “NO! NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!! I can’t friggin’ believe this! I’m gonna die out here!” Anthony cried to himself. Just then, a new-born Charmander, still with some shell from it’s egg on it’s head, stumbled out of the bushes, smelling the burnt wood. “Chaaaarrr…” The baby said in a weak voice. “WOW! A Red Charmander!?…it’s just a baby…hmmm…” Anthony calmed down for a moment, looking carefully at the young baby Pokemon. “Hey, little Charmander.” Anthony said softly, reaching out to pat his head. “CHAAAAAARRRR!!!!!!!” The baby screeched, letting out the biggest flame Anthony has ever seen. The baby charred Anthony’s young skin. “OW! What the hell!? That was totally unnecessary!” Anthony yelled, bouncing around, with some of his hair burnt off. The Charmander giggled, thinking it were just a game. After an hour of waiting for help to arrive, and many ill-fated attempts to create a friendship between human and Pokemon, Anthony decided to be pro active. “Alright Charmander! I’m going to find my way out of here! You obviously have nowhere to go, so why don’t you come with me to the town?” Anthony asked. The Pokemon looked like it was hesitating but eventually agreed to help the little human find his way home. After a couple hours of walking through the dense forest, Anthony decided to put Charmander to good use. “Uh…Hey Charmander? Do you think you could use your Pokemon senses to sniff a way out of the forest?” Anthony asked. The Pokemon looked at the boy, quite perplexed. Being new to this world, he did not exactly know what the world outside of the forest smelt like. “Just think of anything that doesn’t smell necessarily like the forest.” Anthony said. A few minutes of sniffing around Charmander seemed to pick up a sent. Anthony and Charmander ran in the direction of the smell, when suddenly the Pokemon tripped over it’s own foot and fell into an unknown pile of quicksand, headfirst. “Charmander!” Anthony yelled as the tension built. Anthony grabbed Charmander’s tail, while it’s tiny flame burnt his hand, leaving a tiny permanent scar. Anthony pulled as hard as he could but to no avail. He found a vine nearby and tied it to Charmander’s tail. He pulled it behind a tree and along with some wild Pokemon, pulled it out of the quick sand just in time. “Gotcha!” Anthony said in a heroic tone, “Now Whadd’ya say we get outta here before something else happens?” Anthony said with a wide grin. “Char!” Charmander said nodding his head. After about another hour, the two made it out of the forest and over the course of 4 years they became the best of friends. Anthony ended up showing Charmander off to all the kids. But the baby didn’t mind, he liked the attention. ~*END OF FLASH-BIZACKLE*~ Anthony put his gray hoody and blue jeans on. He got his Pokeballs and his glasses and he was off. Charmander followed close behind. “Holy shit! That flashback lasted for 2 hours! We gotta fly!!” Anthony yelled. It had just started to rain, which made the walk to school a helluva lot harder. “Damnit, just my luck! Oh man! Charmander, I wish you’d go in a Pokeball so you wouldn’t get wet.” Anthony said to his Pokemon. Charmander didn’t like to go in his ball all the time. It thought it was a little to cramped in there. The school was in view, so Anthony and Charmander ran faster, hoping to beat the last warning bell. “Alright Charmander, get ready to dive!!” Anthony yelled hopping a huge leap. They landing right on the front step of the school, officially making it on time. W00t… “We made it! Let’s make it to homeroom before the ceremony!” Anthony commanded. The ceremony was a sort of ‘moving on’ type of thing. It was for the students to know that they were officially becoming Pokemon trainers. After a minute or two of running through the school, Anthony was made it to his homeroom and joined his friends. But he couldn’t take his eyes off one person. Rene’ Biddiscombe. “Anthony? Are you looking at Rene’ again?” Anthony’s chubby friend Mike asked in a sly tone. Mike had been Anthony’s best friend since the day he moved to Medford. They did almost everything together. “No! It’s just that I…smelled something…coming from her direction…?” Anthony said, confused at what he said. “That doesn’t really make sense, huh Ash?--Ash? Hello???” Mike was trying to get through to Ash who wouldn’t stop oogling at Misty in her school uniform. This puberty’s a bitch, huh? Ash was also one of Anthony’s best friends. After also moving to Medford with his mom, Ash and Anthony immediately shared the same interests and hung out almost as much as he and Mike. “Wow. Looks like Ash and Anthony are both tied up in their own little personal affairs…” “Students! Quiet now. I have an announcement to make. Due to the overwhelming number of incredibly deep essays, our very own Anthony Marsh will be taking the stage to deliver the opening and closing speeches for the Ceremony this afternoon!” The teacher, Mr. Uberwits said with glee and happiness and all that gay stuff. “What?! Oh n--” “Whoohooooo!” Cheering was heard everywhere from every soul in the room. Even from “Rene’…” Anthony stared dreamily at her, but then shook off the feeling, worried that she saw him. “Wow, Anthony! You must be super excited!” Richie exclaimed. “Well…not really…I mean, I’m not that fond of giving speeches to alotta people.” Anthony said meekly. “Oh nonsense. I remember at your father’s funeral you said some really deep shit.” Mike said. “It wasn’t a funeral if we didn’t have his body…but I guess I could say something…I dunno why they didn’t ASK me first though…” Anthony said with some worry in his eyes. “Alright class, since it’s the last day of school, you have no classes. So just make your way to the cafeteria, have lunch, and then walk down to the auditorium. Good day.” Mr. Uberwits said. Anthony was on his way to the cafeteria when somebody stopped him. “Huh?” Anthony said wondering who it was. He turned around and was shocked to see Rene and Misty standing there. “Oh, uh…hi Rene’. Hi Misty. What’s up?” Anthony asked, visibly shaken. “Well, we wanted to know if you wanted to sit with us for lunch.” Misty said. Rene’ was blushing and looking at the ground. “Um…ok. Hey, wait a minute!” He blurted. “What??” Misty shrieked! “You didn’t piss in my food and wanna watch me eat it did you?!” “What?! No!! Has that happened to you before??” Misty asked with a smirk. “Um…no. Let’s go.” Anthony, Rene’ and Misty all walked to the table right next to the boys table. Ash, Mike and Richie all looked at Anthony giggling. “Jerks…Ash, why don’t you shut up!” Misty yelled to the other table. “You shut up, carrot top!” Ash yelled back. Ash and Misty were known throughout the school for their meaningless fights. But everyone knew they liked each other. “Ass!!” “Bitch!” “Fag!” “Whore!” “SHUT UP!!!” Yelled a little black boy, about a year older than Anthony. “You guys need counseling.” The boy was a rock trainer named Brock. He was a good friend of Anthony and Ash. “Hmph! That Ash is sucha dick! Anthony, what’s his problem?” Misty asked with sadness in her eyes. “Well Misty…I think um…never mind.” Anthony tripped on his words. “What! What do you think??” She asked excited. “Dude. He loves you.” Anthony said, expertly showing no emotion. “…” “So anyways…why did you guys want me to sit here?” Anthony asked. Misty didn’t answer. She was just sitting there, with blank eyes and crimson red cheeks. “Well...um…I was wondering if you…and Charmander, wanted to come over to Misty’s parent’s gym with us and like…watch television or something?” Rene asked staring at the ground fiddling with her fingers. “Really? Sure! What do you think Charmander?” Anthony asked. “Char! Char!” Charmander said happily. She didn’t have it with her today, but Charmander had a huge crush on her little girl Smoochum. “Awesome! We could like…watch movies and I have Super Smash Bros. And stuff!” Rene’ said a little more enthusiastically. “Cool!” “…MISTY!!!!” Rene’ screeched. Misty was still in shock. So Rene’ hit her really hard in the head while Anthony laughed. “OW! Damnit Rene’!” Misty yelled. A few minutes later everyone walked in the auditorium. “Charmander, char char manderr?” Charmander asked worried. “No Charmander…I don’t exactly know what I’ll say up there. Maybe I should quote someone inspirational?” “Char charr?” It asked. “That’s brilliant! I’ll quote him!” Anthony said happily. Anthony was being led backstage by Mr. Uberwits. They both stopped for a minute. “Anthony. I just wanted to ask you if you know what to say.” He asked. “Yes sir, I do.” “It’s not Malcolm X again is it?” “No sir.” Anthony assured. “Alright. Break a leg.” “Thanks. Bye.” Anthony said as Charmander hopped on Anthony’s head. In the crowd, Anthony’s friends were all sitting on the chairs, eagerly waiting to hear what their brown haired friend would say. A rather fat man with a beard and a monocle, wearing an Armani tux walked to a podium in the middle of the stage. “Welcome, student’s of Andrews Middle School! It’s been a wonderful year filled with ups and downs. But finally it all comes to an end. Now, I am not one for deep things to say. I’ve never really had anything planned out. Maybe that’s why my wife divorced me and took my home. Hahahahaha…Anthony! Come up here and say something deep!” The fat principal commanded. Anthony walked up the stage, to the podium and took the microphone. “Umm…Hi. My name is uh…Anthony Marsh.” Various chatter could be heard throughout the audience. “Um, they told me to come up and say something deep relating to Pokemon. I had no idea what to say, but I do know that one of the most important factors is friendship… Your friend is your needs answered. It is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving. And it is your board and your fireside. For they come to you with hunger, and you seek it for peace. When you part from your friend, you grieve not; For that which you love most in it may be clearer in it’s absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain. And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit. For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of it’s own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught. And let your best be for your friend. If they must know the ebb of your tide, let them know its flood also. For what is your friend that you should seek them with hours to kill? Seek them always with hours to live. For it is him to fill your need, but not your emptiness. And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed…thank you. Goodnight.” And with that, Anthony put away the mic, and walked off stage. A roar of applause could be heard from a mile away, as well as people saying “He’s so well spoken,” and “He’s so cute!” Anthony took a seat in between Ash and Mike. “Wow Anthony! That was deep!” Ash said with a bright face. “Yeah…it was Kahlil Gibran.” He said. “Who?” Ash asked puzzled. “Nevermind…” Anthony said annoyed. Anthony knew as well as Misty that sometimes, Ash can be a bit ignorant. Rene’ was staring at Anthony over a few seats down. They had been friends for a couple of years, but the most talking they’ve gotten in was when they were paired up in school, and when they talked online. That’s why Rene’ invited Anthony to Misty’s gym. “Rene’? You alright?” Misty asked her friend. “Yeah. I’m fine.” Rene’ said with a smile. “You sure? You got that weird look again. Like you’ve been eating something that just got to you.” Misty said with a chuckle, knowing exactly what she was doing. “It’s nothing. I’m just…It’s just I can’t wait till you, Anthony and I go to the gym. It’s gonna be fun.” She said with a blush, swaying her feet back and forth on the ground. “Hey, maybe after all this, Anthony can bring some of his friends, and we can all go traveling together! Maybe Ash can come too…” Misty said with a blush. Misty clenched her cheeks, blushing with her eyes closed, dreaming of the thought. “Heh heh…maybe…OH! We could all go to your gym during the summer and win badges. Brock’s too! It’ll be a blast!” Rene’ was enamored at the thought, staring at the ceiling with a Cheshire cat grin. --- “Hey, Ash. I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to Misty’s with Rene’.” Anthony asked shyly. He and Ash shared a lot of secrets. Like who they were in love with, or their greatest fears. Ash stared at him for a moment, but gave him a smile and nodded happily, with excitement in his eyes. At times, Ash could be a better friend than Mike, and at times, he could be awfully annoying. Anthony later went back up and delivered a short speech about how determination is also an important factor in being a good trainer. Once again, the crowd applauded, and Anthony sat down in his seat once more. Anthony and Ash just couldn’t wait to leave. Their legs were shaking slightly, each moment they both darted their eyes at the clock. “Charmander, char maaander?” Charmander nudged Anthony’s shoulder. “Soon, buddy. Don’t worry. Your coming!” Anthony chuckled softly. “Pi pika chuu!” Ash’s Pikachu was jumping with joy at the thought of a wonderful summer. TO BE CONTINUED!!!!!!!
