Last time I forgot the disclaimer. Disclaimer: I do not own pokemon.I do own this plot, and Kyle, and a few other random people, but I do not own any of the other main characters (such as Steven and the Elite Four) P.S. The parts written are Kyle's thoughts. Chapter 1 It had become an Elite Four tradition that every week, they would give pokemon to the new trainers who lived in EverGrande. So that Saturday, Sidney, Phoebe, Glacia, Drake, Steven and Kyle waited at the pokemon center for the trainers who would be starting today. 6 were expected, 4 boys and 2 girls. At 7:15, the first boy walked in. >He looks ridiculously young. Was I really that young once?> The kid had green hair, and was wearing white and red. "What's your name?" asked Sidney. "Thomas," replied the boy. "And what-" "Treecko! It's the coolest! My Mum and Dad wanted me to get a Mudkip, but they don't know anything! Mudkip and Torchic can't do anything, but Treecko-" "Okay, okay, you can have Treecko." Said Steven hastily. "Do you want to give it a nickname?" "You bet!!!" shouted Thomas. "Pokemon are so much cooler if they have nicknames! Do your pokemon have nicknames?!?" he asked Kyle. "Uhhh....no, they-" Kyle started. "Oh you are sooooo boring! Who are you anyways?" "Uhhh..." Kyle began. "He's the new champion." Phoebe cut in. "WHAT!?! YOU can't be the champion! Steven's way too strong for a boring person like you! I bet his pokemon have really cool nicknames, like Steel, and-" "Look, do you want a pokemon or not?" Drake snapped, noticing that both Kyle and Steven were looking uncomfortalbe. "Well duhh! That's why I'm here Gramps!" Drake handed Thomas a pokeball with a grass symbol on it. Thomas snatched it out of his hand. "Took you long enough! Come on out, Treecks!" he said, throwing the pokeball. Out came a female Treecko. “Awwwww! A female Treecko! They’re weak! Take it back! I don’t want it!” Thomas whined. “Thomas, you chose that pokemon, and now it’s your partner. Now take your pokedex and get out of here!” Drake snapped. “Okay, okay! Don’t get your knickers in a knot!” said Thomas, and walked out. “You forgot-“ started Glacia, “Forget about it,” said Steven. “Ugh, what a repulsive brat,” said Sidney. Turning to Kyle, he said “They’re not all like that. Don’t get worried.” About 10 minutes later, a short girl in a swimming costume, with dripping long blonde hair came in. "Hello," said Steven. "And your name is...?" "Cassandra." She answered. "And Cassandra, I'm assuming you would like Mudkip?" Steven asked. "Got it in one!" said she, with a wink at Kyle. Kyle realised that everyone had been talking while he was daydreaming. "Are you with us now, Kyle?" asked Sidney. Blushing, Kyle nodded. "Well then, maybe you'd like to give Cassandra that pokeball you're clutching in your left hand like a life preserver." "Oh right. Sorry..." Kyle began, and gave Cassandra her Mudkip. "Well, see you later!" She said, walking out the door with a giggle. "Kyle, you can't just switch off like that every time you see a pretty girl." Sidney teased. "Oh Sidney, you're so funny." retorted Steven. The door of the pokemon center opened once again, and this time two children walked in. Kyle looked up and realised that they were twins. They had the same freckles, the same flaming red hair that clashed horribly with thier maroon shirt and black shorts. "Hello twins. And you are...?" Asked Glacia. "John." "Matt." "Well John and Matt...or Matt and John...ummm...what pokemon would you like?" she continued. "Torchic." They replied in one voice. Kyle's face turned a deathly white. He remembered his third day of pokemon training... FLASHBACK "Poison Sting!" shouted the boy in red. His Wurmple let loose thousands of poisoned needles into the air. Torchic collapsed to the ground. A boy in black ran over to it... END FLASHBACK Kyle blinked. He was back in the pokemon center. "Go, torchic!" shouted the twins, letting loose thier pokeballs. Kyle ran out of the pokemon center blindly, let out his Pidgeot and jumped onto it. Steven arrived just in time to see him disappearing into the distance.
