Silver Star~ Part 2

~The Umbreon glared at me and bared his jaws. Another shadow walked forward.  I expected another Umbreon, but it was a girl!  "Back, Umbreon!"  She was mental! there was no way that one command could really make a difference in whether the black beast would rip me apart or not.  But it did!  He sullenly sat back, though he still glared at me warily.
"Sorry about that," the girl said apologetically. "He's really too protective,"  Her voice somehow reminded me of the howling I had heard, and I had a vague notion that she might have been howling too.  The girl looked about my age, though her eyes seemed to belong to a four-year-old.  She had on a worn white dress that came to her knees, and dark blonde hair that fell down her back. Although she was small~almost a head shorter than me~ that huge Umbreon was as obediant as a kitten under her command.
Slowly, silently, the other figures came out of the shadows.  A sleek Vaporeon, a menacing Jolteon, a mystic Espeon.  Also a bright Flareon and a small Eevee.  I had found them!  The howling Pokemon!  But I had no time to enjoy my success.
"Bang, bang bang!  Bang!"  The house!  Oh no, I had left them alone!
I cursed under my breath.  "I gotta leave,"
         "What happened?"
"Shooting at the house, I've gotta help!"
"I have a faster way.  Here, Espeon!"  Hearing her call, the Espeon leaped over.  The girl grabbed my hand and touched Espeon's head.  I don't know what happened next, but we were in front of the house within a second or two.
Leon was on the porch, holding a pistol.  A blonde girl sat on a motorcycle in the drive.  She was wearing a Rocket uniform and a wicked grin.  Leon had a smirk on his face, which flickered as soon as he saw us.  Then it just got wider.  He aimed and fired at us in less than a second.  "Bang! Bang!"  Eevee girl tripped me backwards and fell backwards herself  as she made a short, startled yell.  She said not to move, but she didn't speak.  <You must stay quiet.>
Leon, oblivious to her mind-speak, chuckled and hopped on the motorcycle.  "Vr-VROOM!"  They were gone.  I waited a moment to be sure, then hopped up and pulled Eevee girl to her feet.  "Are you hurt?" I asked.  I knew she wasn't.  Then I remembered.
"Mother!"  I ran inside, praying for her life. But to no avail.  I found her in the living room, shot through the heart.  Mariah!   Dead in her room, near her bed.  I was in shock.  I sat on the floor, sobbing.  My Meowth and Ponyta came from their Pokeballs and nuzzled my face.
I cried for a full hour.  My only family was gone.  Leon had killed them.  I had trusted him, and he killed my family.  Eevee girl began to walk in, but stopped at the door. I could see that all of her Pokemon were behind her. She asked, "Are you all right?"
"Do I look all right?" I snapped back.
         "...sorry,"
"No, I'm sorry.  It's just that they were all I had left, ya know?"  Somehow I knew she knew the feeling.
"Well, what about your Pokemon? And me?"  I thought about that.  "Come with me."  With that, her Espeon Teleported us back to the campfire.
Looking back, I'm glad she took me away so fast.  I would've cried my whole life if someone hadn't stopped me.  I had all of my Pokemon with me; Ponyta, Meowth, Tauros, Scyther, and Pidgeotto.  I had the Eevee girl.  Eevee girl; she had saved my life and I didn't even know her name.  She was humming now, a tuneless melody... and with that, I fell asleep.

***I felt so sad for him... at least he can sleep it off now.  I tried to remember when my parents died... I couldn't.  I hate when this happens!  I try to remember something and I can't!  I can remember up to about seven years ago, but before that is a smear, nothing is readable.  I can't even remember what they look like... how  depressing.  But I can't be depressed now; the sad boy needs to be happy~ so I do, too. I hope he has a happy dream... Speaking of dreams, I need some sleep.  "G'night, Espeon."  <good night, friend.>
