Deep in the forest of Ratmon City, a boy named Vin catches his first pokemon. "Pokeball Go!!!" Vin said as he threw the ball. The weakened Sandshrew got sucked into the ball. 3 seconds later, The pokeball made a big PING sound signaling that the pokemon was caught. "YEEEESSS!!!" "I got my first POKEMON!!!" Vin said with great pride. "Sandshrew come out!!" Sandshrew came out. Still injured. "Hey Sandshrew lets go heal you." When they arrived at the Pokecenter, Nurse Joy healed his pokemon. So Vin went to the park in his park. It's a place where all beginning trainers hang out and catch pokemon. "Come on Sandshrew I want you to meet my friends. Hey Leo! Percy! Look I got a pokemon!" Vin said. "Oh cool a Sandshrew! I heard they are really awesome!" said Percy. "Sweet man hey I can help you train it." Said Lee. "Yeah there's a place in this park where they're a lot of weak pokemon. We'll show you the place right now." Said Percy. So the 3 boys go into the deep end of the park Vin has never went before. Suddenly, a Growlithe pops up into view. "This is your chance Sandshrew!" Vin said as Sandshrew got into position. 
The Growlithe sees it and challenges it. "Sandshrew sand attack!!" Vin ordered. Sandshrew sent a cloud of dust into Growlithe's face. "GRROOWWWLLIITTHHE!!" Growlithe cried. "Ok now dig underground!! Sandshrew dived underground easily and came out of the ground right in front of Growlithe's head and whacked its snout. Growlithe whimpered and Sandshrew came up the surface again except this time, in midair preformed the swift attack. Growlithe fell to the ground. "Pokeball go!!" Vin shouted and caught Growlithe. "Yeah babe I caught Growlithe!" 
"Awesome catch dude. I couldn't of done better myself!" said Percy as Vin asked Nurse Joy to heal his pokemon. "Yeah thanks." Vin said. When they got back to the park they watched some people battle. Joe and Lee joined the fun. Vin just sat there thinking for a while.... "Hey you! Want to battle?" Vin looked up. A girl about his age was challenging him. "Alright." Vin said. They found a small spot in the corner of the park where they competed. "2 pokemon each got it?" asked the girl. "Got it." Vin said. "Go Growlithe!" Vin called. "Staryu go!" the girl commanded. "Staryu water gun!" Water shot out of all of Staryu's ends. Growlithe collapsed. "Growlithe return!" Vin said as Growlithe was being sucked back into the pokeball. "Sandshrew go!!" Vin ordered. "Dig underground now!!" Sandshrew was unusually fast as a Sandshrew so he had the ability to avoid most of Staryu's water attacks. "Damnit that's a cheap move kid!" the girl yelled. "Calling it a cheap move simply approves your disability. Sandshrew hit it from behind and then finish it with your slash attack!!" Sandshrew popped out from nowhere and hit Staryu with its head then came back down with something better than Slash, it was fury swipes!! Staryu fell to the ground. "That's what ya get for Growlithe!" Vin yelled. "Damn! Staryu return! Magnamite go!" The girl ordered. "Ha! Your Magnamite's electric attacks won't affect my Sandshrew! Sandshrew swift attack now!" Vin commanded. Sandshrew shot out hundreds of tiny stars at Magnemite. It didn't do much though. "Magnamite Sonic Boom!" the girl shouted. A piercing sound was heard. Sandshrew fell back paws covering his ears. They were bleeding. "Grrrr... Sandshrew Earthquake!" This time, he was yelling so loud, everyone just looked at him. Luckily, Sandshrew heard the attack name just before his hearing failed. The earth cracked open and Magnemite soon was knocked unconscious by big chunks of rocks. "You cheater! I get you for this!" Then the girl stormed off. The people around him cheered. Leo and Percy both cheered (the loudest). 
When they got to the pokemon center the Chanseys were able to cure Sandshrew's disability to hear with the softboiled technique. And Growlithe was back to full health again.
"I'm going to train my Squirtle, Poliwag, and Seel now. You guys wanta come along?" "Yeah I could use a little training with my Geodude, Ryhorn, and Cubone. How about you Vin?" asked Percy. "Ok I need to catch up anyway." Vin yawned lazily. So the group went back deep in the woods again. That's where they found Oddish. "Hey it's an Oddish! This one's mine!" Vin boasted before anyone could claim that they wanted Oddish. "Growlithe go!" Vin summoned Growlithe.
"Flamethrower now!!" the Oddish went up in flames. "OODDDDIIISSHH!!" Oddish screamed. "Pokeball go!" Vin ordered the ball sucked into the pokeball and after 10 seconds of bouncing, the pokeball stayed still at last signaling that Oddish was caught. "Yes!" I caught Oddish!!" Vin erupted with pride. "We better go home now. It's getting dark." Leo said as they walked back to town.
