THE BLACK LEAGUE By d2kfuture Comments, Complaints and Enquiries to d2kfuture@hotmail.com THE BLACK LEAGUE Chapter 7 I awoke feeling groggy, to the sight of a strange pokemon. It was standing over me, breathing heavily. I realised that it had been trying to wake me. I looked around for Mike and Amanda and saw them cowering in a corner, as far away from the pokemon as possible. 'Are you alright', the voice nearly made me pass out again, it was so powerful. I thought, 'You're killing me. Stop please'. Immediately the voice disappeared and I noticed a hurt look on the pokemon's face. I began to converse with it psychicly. It turned out that the pokemon was an evolved Eevee. It had beun the transformation a week ago at the exact moment the sun was setting. This had caused it to mutate into a completely new form. The pokemon resembled an Umbreon, but it had three tails, and its body was larger and more muscular. It was obviously at a very high level. Also, his body changed colour every few minutes, so it was like staring at a weird rainbow. 'What is your name', I enquired tentatively. 'I am known as Eon'. The voice pounded through my consciousness and I held my head in pain. 'I am a mix of every known type and, as such, can use every possible move. I have viewed your approach with interest. You seem like a very determined trainer. I assume that you wish to battle Montgomery, the rock leader?' I tried to nod but my head hurt too much. However, the Eon understood. The voice continued, slightly quieter and as such, less painful. 'I will watch your match with the gym leader. If I think you worthy enough, I may join your party'. Then he was gone. Mike and Amanda crawled trembling from their hiding-place. I explained what had occurred and they nodded, amazed at such a strange pokemon. We rested for a while, and, when the pain in my head had receded somewhat, we continued up the steep slope. Along the way, our pokemon KOed any wild ones which crossed our path. However, by the end of the day, our stockpile of healing items was running low so we had to order them to cease their assault on the local pokemon. We continued walking in silence, apart from the occasional hiss of a stray Ekans. By sunset we had reached the peak of the mountain but the gym was nowhere in site. We viewed the crater of the dormant volcano with curiosity. It was the only place the gym could be but it was too late to go searching now. We set up for the night and started a small fire. Then, the Eon appeared alongside us again. I had not even sensed it's approach. 'Why do you not challenge the gym leader?' 'It is too late. We will find and battle him tomorrow'. Mike and Amanda looked on hearing nothing but understanding that Eon was questioning me. 'Humans', Eon grunted. 'What's that supposed to mean?' 'Too weak to do anything properly. Need your sleep and your rest and have to be comfortable. PAH!' The last word was thought with such ferocity that, even though I had learned to cope with the power Eon used, I spasmed in pain. When I sat up again, Eon had disappeared and Amanda was holding smelling salts under my nose. She obviously thought I had passed out again. 'Thanks', I murmured groggily. I sat up and looked around. Now I was determined to show Eon that humans were not as weak as he liked to make out. However, I was still weak after his last telepathic shout so I decided that, no matter how angry I was, the gym leader would have to wait until morning. I lay downed and sleep came to me quickly. However, during the night I kept waking, Eon's words echoing through my head. I eventually settled down for the night and slept more peacefully.
