THE BLACK LEAGUE By d2kfuture Comments, complaints and enquiries to d2kfuture@hotmail.com The Black League Chapter 9 I stared, unmoving for a few moments at the empty corridor and the twisted mass of metal that had been the immovable metal doorway. One word immediately sprang into my mind. 'Eon'. The destruction reeked of his powerful mind. I told Amanda of my suspicions and we decided to continue through the doorway. As soon as we entered, Eon appeared. 'Was it you that destroyed the doorway?' I enquired. 'No'. He seemed terrified and kept darting quick, impulsive looks into the locality. 'It was a monstrous being, over 10 times my size and with blood-red skin. As he walked up to the doorway, it just melted from the immense heat emitting from his body'. Eon stopped speaking and began to quiver involuntarily. 'As he approached, I teleported Mike and the injured Scizor to safety inside here. I only hope that that creature does not find them'. 'Take us to them', I ordered. Eon quickly complied, and, a minute later, we were lying down beside a rocky outcrop discussing what to do. Mike and Scizor had seen the thing and quickly confirmed all that Eon had told us. Amanda suggested that we find the gym leader and get help from him. We quickly agreed and Eon teleported us to a vast underground chamber. It was a magnificent place. The vast walls sparkled with all the colours of the rainbow and more, and shone like glass while reflecting everything we did magnified hugely. The place itself was enormous. 10 Indigo Stadiums would have fitted in there comfortably. Everything we said was magnified a thousand times. As we stared, awed at this fantastic structure, a stern, grey-haired man strode across the hall to us. Mike was the first to notice him and nudged us. We all stopped gawking around us and walked to greet the man, who was obviously the gym leader. 'Who are you?' he asked. 'We wished to challenge you', I replied, acting as spokesperson. 'Wished?' 'Yes. There is a huge creature after invading this underground palace', I informed him. 'What kind of creature?' I described the creature exactly as Eon had. 'This could be difficult', he sighed. Then, as if suddenly coming to a decision he stood up even straighter and ordered, 'I will subdue this creature with some of my pokemon and then we will extract some information from it'. We quickly agreed and offered the services of our pokemon too. However he waved them away, saying that his pokemon would be sufficient. Mike enquired timidly, 'Could you fix me and Jack's Scizor up. We were paralysed by a Team Rocket member's Jumpluff'. 'Team Rocket are here?' 'Yes'. 'Dammit. This complicates the situation even more. If they catch sight of this pokemon then the place will be swarming with Grunts. We must ensure that the pokemon is not seen by any Team Rocket members'. He then released a selection of powerful pokemon in the form of Rhydon, Onix and Golem. Ready to take on the strange pokemon, we set off. After a few hours hike, we caught sight of the creature, stomping loudly through the cave. It seemed to have some definite purpose in mind, though we could not fathom what. 'That trail leads to the Sacred Cave', Montgomery informed us. 'There is located a nest of the legendary bird pokemon, Sacremento. It is part rock and wields huge power. However, the father left a few weeks ago and has not yet returned. I fear that he may have been captured. The mother is having a lot of trouble taking care of her nestlings on her own. I fear that if that creature reaches the cave, that Sacremento may be wiped out. We must prevent the pokemon from reaching the cave'. With new resolve, we set off after the creature. It did not seem to hear us following it and, as soon as possible, Montgomery ordered his pokemon to attack. The battle that ensued was extraordinary. The creature opened it's mouth and a burning wheel of flame spewed forth, fainting all of Montgomery's pokemon immediately. We were shocked, especially since Rock pokemon should have had some advantage over Fire types. Montgomery's mouth set into a grim line and he released a new array of pokemon. With small flashes of light, three Magnix emerged, followed by four extremely large Donphan. The Magnix, who are the evolved form of Steelix, began to barrage the creature with Rock Slides and Earthquakes while the Donphan assaulted it with Rollout's. It should have been a massacre against the creature but it merely flew up and conjured up a monstrous Whirlwind. It looked like a Whirlwind, but it was more like a Typhoon. All of Montgomery's pokemon immediately fainted. Then, Eon returned. He had disappeared soon after we began the hike but now began to viciously attack the creature. Barrage upon barrage of attacks issued forth from him. Surf, Flamethrower and Ice Beam were used to no effect. Thunderbolt had equally useless results. The creature floated away from Earthquakes and caught and flung back Rock Slides. When Eon tried Psychic, it was Mirror Coated ferociously and Eon fainted. I was shocked by such power. The pokemon roared loudly and we slumped to our knees in defeat. Montgomery had used up all his pokemon and we realised that ours would be useless. The creature made as if to continue onwards. Suddenly, like a breath of fresh air, a heavenly song floated through the air. Then, a flash of pure white light exploded around the corner and......
