A/N: This is my first really serious fic, so, umm, I’ll just start, I guess…

Ash gripped the grass.

Tears streamed down his face.

She had fainted 2 minutes ago, making them wonder ‘Is she really dead?’.

Misty stood by him, eyes gleaming with tears also.

She looked at the distressed boy, and the dead woman he held in his arms.

The woman was his mother.

She had been shot.

Sirens echoed in the distance.

That was the ambulance.

When they came, time seemed to slow down.

“No!” Ash’s cry was heard as they put Delia’s lifeless body onto a stretcher.

Ash was held back by a paramedic.

“Son, you can’t come now, because there is no room, but come to the Viridian General.” The paramedic told him.

The paramedic turned and got into the ambulance.

With that they drove off towards the Viridian General.

Tears flowed freely from Misty’s eyes now.

This was all too much to bear.

Ash was sitting down now.

He was shaking with sobs.

Someone was walking towards them, dressed in purple clothes.

This person took one glance at Ash and laughed.

“So loser Ashy-Boy is now a crybaby! Haha!”

Ash stood up and looked at him, his face contorted with anger and rage.

Gary, you little bastard, how dare you!” Ash yelled, his rage taking over him.

Ash charged towards Gary, punching his nose.

But after that he didn’t stop, he gave him a fierce uppercut and kicked him in the groin.

By then Misty had held him back, and Gary was on the ground in agony.

Misty whispered caring and soft words to him like ‘He’s not worth it’ and ‘Calm down’.

They slowly made it home.

Shortly after that Misty called Brock and told him everything.

“Yeah, uh huh, sure, Ok, ‘bye.”

Misty had finished her call, and looked toward Ash.

He was on the couch, his gaze fixed on the ceiling.

Things were sure gonna be different now.

The hours went by in silence.

In what had seemed like days, but really hours, someone called.

It was the hospital.

“Are you one of the family members of a ‘Delia Ketchem’?” The desk lady asked

“No, but I am a friend.” Misty said.

“Well, Delia in a coma-“

“You mean she’s alive!”

“Well, yes, but we need you to come down here to Viridian General, to give us some information about her.”

“Ok, I’ll come.”

“Good. The more the better. Ok, I’ll see you later, goodbye.”

They finished the call.

Misty ran over to the couch, where Ash was sleeping.

“Ash. Ash! ASH!!!”

Ash jolted awake.

He gave her one of those ‘Why-did-you-wake-me-up?’ looks.

“Ash! Your mom is alive! But she’s in a coma at Viridian General!”

She grabbed Ash’s arm and ran out the door.

They were going to Viridian City.
