*Part Four*

New Friends

“Wow is right…” said a voice from behind her. May turned around and saw the brown haired tall girl, she and Drew had lined up behind. “Hi. I'm Elizabeth...”

“May White.” She replied extending her arm in greeting. “Nice to meet you.”

“Are you a Pokemon Coordinator or Breeder?” Elizabeth asked as they sat on their beds opposite each other.

“Pokemon Coordinator.” May replied with a smile. “What about you?”

“I’m going to be a Breeder.” Elizabeth responded as she looked over her schedule left on the bed. “What do you have first period? I’ve got Tips and Remedies for Injured Pokemon…”

“So do I! What’s it about?” May asked looking curiously over her schedule.

“It’s a requirement class for Breeders, Coordinators, Pokemon Trainers and Researchers.” Elizabeth explained. “My brother is at The Institute for Researchers and Assistants right next to us. He’s been taking that class for a while now but he’s taking the third level of that class.”

“Where does he take it?”

“At The Pokemon Academy for Masters.” Elizabeth replied matter-of-factly. “It’s really cool. Plus it’s mandatory for Coordinators, Breeders, Masters, Researchers and Assistants.”

“So does that mean I have the chance of seeing my friends that are there?” May asked.

“Maybe.” Elizabeth replied. “Usually we’re put with students of our own year group but it’s not like it matters. Most first years are fifteen, sixteen or seventeen, then again there’s always a time when there are a few older students that just start their learning.”

“What’s our first class?” Sharon asked looking at the schedule that their House teacher had given them, Anna her Pichu hanging off her shoulder.

“Tips and Remedies for Injured Pokemon.” Misty replied. “It’s on the third floor, class C6.”

“C’mon let’s hurry up then or else we’ll be late. Professor Whitney teaches that… The husband of Professor Whitney.” Sharon replied grabbing her bag with her books.

“Okay let’s go.”

“So why isn’t anyone here yet?” Ash whispered. “The room’s empty…”

“We’re early that’s why… So are all the other Pokemon Master students cuz after all he is our House Teacher…”

“Oh well…”

They looked around the classroom and saw four Pokemon students sitting in the classroom. The girl sitting two rows away from them looked over at them nervously and asked, “You guys new too?”

“Yeah…” Ash nodded. “I’m Ash from here, Pallet.”

“I’m Dan and I’m from the Hoenn Region.” Dan introduced himself.

“I’m Ashley from Pewter City.” She smiled.

Ashley had light brown hair with streaks of blonde; she had turquoise eyes and a bit of a tan.

“You guys are Pokemon Master students right?”

“Yup.” Ash nodded he looked over at the guy four rows away from them and added. “What’s your name?”

“I’m Bauchle.” He replied. “I’m from Viridian City.”

Bauchle had blondish brown hair, brown eyes and white skin.

“Nice to meet you.” Ash greeted he turned to the girl in a far corner by herself. “What about you?”

“Shana.” She replied with a smile. “I’m from Violet City.”

Shana had dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes, and she wore a hat.

“Nice to meet you.” Dan greeted nodding to the guy in the other corner. “How about you?”

“I’m Sandy Thomas.” He introduced himself. “I’m from Pallet Town too.”

“You are?” Ash asked. “Cool.”

“I’ve heard a lot about you Ash.” Sandy added. “Professor Oak mentioned you and so has Gary.”

Soon more students began to file in and Dan and Ash were surprised to see-

“May!” Dan exclaimed. “You here too?”

“Yup. So’s Drew and my friend Elizabeth.” May smiled as they sat down in desk behind the two friends.

May was wearing a uniform, which consisted of a pink skirt a white shirt and a white cloak around her, which had the letters ‘P’ and ‘C’ on the back in pink letters. Drew wore a similar uniform except he wore blue pants, a white shirt and a white cape but the letters were blue.

Ash looked back at the classroom entrance to see-

“Misty! Sharon!” he smiled. “Got the same class huh?”

They nodded and smiled sitting in desks next to him and Dan. They saw Gregory enter with another guy and sit down by Bauchle. A Fire Master student with a Pichu on his shoulder and a Water/Ice student walked in and sat besides Sharon’s desk. Sharon recognized the Fire Master Student immediately.

“Damien!” Sharon exclaimed. “I didn’t know you’d be here!”

“Had to come…” Damien smiled. “The new law forced me to.

“Evan is here too?” Sharon giggled tickling his Pichu. “Who’s your friend?”

“This is Dylan, one of my penpals. He comes from Jhoto.” Damien smiled.

“Hello.” Dylan greeted.

“Hiya.” Sharon smiled.

Dylan had brownish black hair with bluish green eyes and light skin.

Brock and Britney walked in along with three other Breeders and they found seats next to Ash and Dan.

“Hi guys.” Brock waved.

“You here too?” Ash asked. “Well at least we’re sure of having one class together.”

The Breeder uniform consisted of a black skirt or black pants depending on gender, along with a white shirt, which had the letter B in black; they also had a black cloak.

“Attention class!” Professor Whitney exclaimed. “As you all know this is your Tips and Remedies for Injured Pokemon class. For those of you that don’t know me I am Professor Whitney. I am the husband of Professor Whitney of the Water/Ice House. You are all new here so I shall begin with the basics.” He turned to Ash who had Pikachu on his shoulder. “I see you have a Pikachu, may I hold him?”

“Err… sure…” Ash nodded holding out Pikachu towards him.

“As you all see, this Pikachu is in perfect health however there are five serious illnesses that can fall to it. Does anyone know what they are?” Professor Whitney tickled Pikachu lightly.

Shana tentatively raised her hand and Professor Whitney pointed at her.

“Um… I know there’s one called Lightening Impotence.” Shana replied. “And then there’s Continuous Thunder.”

“Yes. Does anyone know what happens when a Pikachu is affected by these illnesses?”

Shana raised her hand again and Professor Whitney called on her again. She replied, “Lightning Impotence is when a Pikachu cannot perform lightning attacks. Continuous Thunder is when a Pikachu repeatedly releases bursts of Thunder, uncontrollably.”

“Very good Shana.” Professor Whitney nodded looking down at the student list on his desk. “There are three other illnesses, does anyone know them?”

Sandy raised his hand and Professor Whitney called on him.

“Umm… there’s Electric Fever.” Sandy replied. “That’s when a Pikachu falls unconscious due to a very powerful attack and has a fever in which is lets out bursts of electricity suddenly.”

“Very good Sandy.” Professor Whiteney smiled. “Any other you know?”

“Sudden Discharge.” He added. “A Pikachu unconsciously gathers electricity around him and once enough energy is collected, it lets loose all the electricity resulting in grave injury or possibly death.”

“Yes, although death is very rare to happen to a Pikachu. They are quite powerful creatures.” Professory Whitney nodded. “Thank you Sandy. Now there is one other illness, which is deadly… Does anyone know it?”

Everyone looked around expecting someone to answer however most Pikachu trainers except a confused Ash looked down at the floor unable to speak.

“This illness is very rare and hardly ever happens, but there has been two recent cases happen to two of our new students who happen to be sitting right in front of me…” Professor Whitney looked down at Sharon and at Damien.

Sharon sighed as Damien’s knuckles turned white. She slowly raised her hand and Professor Whitney called on her.

“Yes Sharon, go on.”

“Magic Lightning Blast.” Sharon whispered, she gripped her skirt tightly. “This only happens when a Pikachu chooses to give itself up for its trainer. It releases all its energy. A Pikachu then suffers hours of agony as it is slowly consumed by Lightning from the sky…” Sharon sniffed lightly. “There is no going back once a Pikachu chooses to do this, he or she must endure this pain in order to completely rid itself of its energy… Once it is rid of its energy the Pikachu has no power over electricity and eventually dies…”

There was silence as Sharon’s croaky voice filled the room. No one spoke as the information sunk in. Sharon looked down at her lap and kept quiet as Professor Whitney gave Ash back his Pikachu. Ash hugged his Pikachu tight, hoping he could show him more of his love towards his tiny Pokemon. Sharon took her Pichu, Anna in her arms and looked down at it with a smile.

Damien took his own Pichu Evan in his arms and gave him a hug. The two friends looked at each other with a sigh.

“All Pokemon have a similar deadly illness in which they themselves choose to endure. Here you shall learn about every singly Pokemon which suffers illnesses and you will learn how to counter it and treat it. Some of you may be asking yourselves why exactly you need this class when it seems that it is fit for Breeders and not Masters and Coordinators in the making.” Professor Whitney went on. “Well I have news for you. This class is mandatory for all who pass through this school. You will not find a student who claims to have not taken this class because there is none. All Pokemon schools require this class be taught, not only for future Breeders but for others as well so that way you are aware what dangers can befall your own Pokemon and know what to do when it occurs. Now since we’re on the subject of Pikachu, let us learn how to treat their five illnesses.” Professor Whitney clapped his hands. “Come now, all of you take out your notebooks and begin to take notes on what we have just discussed. I will write the remedies for them on the board.”

“Well that was a very interesting class.” Sharon finally spoke as she and Misty walked down the hallway to Pokemon History class upon exiting Tips and Remedies for Injured Pokemon class. “I never knew there were other illnesses that a Pikachu could go through…”

“Well, now we know…” Damien sighed as he walked beside her. “I’m glad you talked and I didn’t. I don’t think I’d have been able to take it.”

“Hey Sharon!” Gregory exclaimed running up to her.

She turned to him with a smile, “Hello. Finally came over to say hi huh?”

“Oh sorry about that.” Gregory smiled putting his arm around her shoulders reassuringly. “I was making new friends… I never heard that your Pikachu died…”

“That’s because we didn’t make a big deal about it…” Damien replied coolly, pulling Sharon out of Gregory’s arms and into his. “It was not something to shout to the whole world…”

“Oh. I didn’t know you were here Dawnson…” Gregory muttered, anger in his eyes. “I didn’t think they’d allow wannabe Fire Pokemon Trainers…”

“And I didn’t know they let in losers like you.” Damien replied coolly.

“Guys. Quit it. I can’t stand hearing you guys fight. Can’t you all just get along?” Sharon sighed pulling away from Damien. “C’mon Mist we’ll be late for Pokemon History.”

“I got that class too.” Damien smiled. “Dylan and I’ll go with you.” He nodded in his friend’s direction.

“Gregory!” a female voice yelled from behind them.

They turned to see a tall slender blonde girl with green eyes, perfect complexion and perfect pearly teeth. She was a Pokemon Coordinator wearing the pink uniform of Coordinators with matching accessories.

“Let’s go! We’ve got class together!” the girl exclaimed pulling her along.

“Emily, what the hell are you doing here?’ Sharon demanded angrily.

“I’m a student here, obviously.” Emily rolled her eyes. “Duh! Honestly even if you were top in the class you’ve got no common sense whatsosver!”

“What?!” Sharon exploded.

“I better go.” Gregory replied hurriedly. “I got Battle Skills with Professor Whitney and from what Charles tells me, she’s evil if you come late.”

Sharon, Misty, Damien and Dylan made their way to Pokemon History while Gregory, Emily, and Charles went to Battle Skills.

“Have you guys had Battle Skills yet?” Gregory asked eagerly when he saw Ash, Misty, Sharon, and Dan at lunch in the cafeteria. When they shook their heads he went on with a smile, “You guys won’t believe how cool Professor Whitney is! She let us battle!”

Ash dug into his bag for his schedule and when he found it he groaned, “We don’t have till last period!”

“Everyone battled?” Sharon asked skeptically.

“Only four volunteers.” Charles replied. “Not everyone wanted to go up. Guess they were scared. I beat Greg here.”

“Of course, it’s easy to beat him.” Damien replied with a grin.

“Hey!”

“As some of you know, I am Professor Whitney, Professor Whitney’s wife.” Professor Whitney began walking towards the huddled group in the small arena. “I am also the House Teacher of the Water/Ice Group. I am your Battle Skills teacher and I will be teaching you how to battle right by awakening certain skills that come when battling one with your Pokemon.” She looked at them all, over her glasses. “Do I have any volunteers?”

Ash, Misty, Sharon and Damien immediately raised their hands. They were the only ones to raise their hands for everyone looked doubtful of him or her self.

Professor Whitney nodded, “Misty and Ash will battle against each other and so will Damien and Sharon. Which of you wants to go first?”

“Us!” Sharon exclaimed as she pulled Damien forward.

“All right! This will be a one on one battle. Students fill up to the stands. Misty, Ash go and stand in the seats behind Sharon and Damien.” Professor Whitney walked over to where the referee usually stood. “This one on one battle will be between Sharon Anderson Gym Leader of The Pokemon Tower and Damien Dawnson of Pokemon City!” Everyone began whispering at this as they waited anxiously for the battle to begin. “Let the battle begin!”

“I choose you Riane!” Sharon yelled throwing a Pokeball and letting out a Delibird.

“I choose you Gem!” Damien shouted throwing a Pokeball and letting out a Rapidash.

Note: Well what did you think? I hope many of the people who sent in characters have liked how their characters came out in the story so far! I haven’t put in all of them though so yeah. You’ll see them in chappies to come! I know there isn’t much to them but later on they will grow into a very important part in the series of this story! BTW I won’t be accepting any more characters. Sorry! Another part will come soon kay? Kay!
