His house was to that of a superstar. His PKMN strongest as can be. Yet his 
heart weak under pain "come on Ash. It has been over 5 years since you last saw 
her" said Gary as he sat on the table to eat dinner "I know, Gary. Still my 
heart suffers for her absence" Gary shook his head as he picked up his fork "if 
she really loved you, she would have told you or at least give you some kind of 
clue. Perhaps you did love her, perhaps it was just a teenagers secret first 
love?" Ash just nodded staring at his dish "I'm going for a walk. See you Gary" 
he waved at Ash as he went out the door.

Ash looked at the stars as they glitter there soft light over him "Misty…" 
flashes of the fun and wonderful times they had went through his mind "maybe 
Gary is right…maybe I should forget about her" he knew he couldn't no matter 
what "what can I do about this?" he asked the sky as if it were going to answer 
all his questions and doubts "she's probably married by now" her face came to 
his mind "what if she is married?" the doubt filled his head and placed more 
questions on his mind "I need a vacation"

The sun gave into his luxurious room "good morning, Mr. Ketchum" he opened his 
eyes to his butler "morning Jerry. What time is it?" the butler laid some 
clothes on his bed "why its almost 9:00 am, sir. You have to attend the league 
meeting today" Ash looked out the window at the sea  "hey Jerry…did you ever 
fall in love" the man raised his eyebrow then sat next to him "yes one time. I 
fell in love with a beautiful girl" Ash turned to him surprised "what happened 
to her?" Jerry's face expressed some sadness "she just…didn't like my job" Ash 
remembered Misty and how he had let her go because of his dream to become a 
master.

He walked out and got into his car "the meeting will end by this afternoon, sir. 
Do you have any other needs to be done" Ash took a quick decision "pack my 
suitcase…I'm taking a vacation" Jerry smiled "yes…that will definitely help" 
they both laugh" well…I'll see you later" he drove off into the road. He entered 
the large room "good morning Mr. Ketchum. You have two messages" Ash nodded as 
he signed in "Steven called and said he wants to meet with you. And a man called 
by the name of Kaminski" Ash raised his head "very well" he went into the room 
where the elite 4 were sat in "hello Ash. We were awaiting your arrival"

He sat down in his chair "let's get this moving" the man next to him was the 
first to speak up "well our first topic is your appearance. We need you to make 
more public appearances" Ash gave a soft laugh "may I ask what is funny?" Ash 
turned to him "you want me to make more appearances…and just how can I do that 
if I'm always filling out papers" they all nodded" Ash smiled "but I have a 
great idea" they all stared at him "if I travel around I'll be able to make more 
public appearances as you said" they all looked at each other "you mean like 
a…vacation?" Ash nodded seeing his plan had worked "precisely gentlemen"

The tires skid as they came to a stop in front of his large mansion "good 
afternoon, sir. Everything go well?" Ash smiled as he leaned on his car "I'm 
going on vacation" Jerry smiled as he snapped his fingers at a nearby servant 
"here is your suitcase, sir. I'll place it in the car" Ash smiled "hey Jerry" 
the man turned to him "thanks for all your helpful advice" Jerry nodded as Ash 
went into the mansion. He came out the shower and dressed quickly "your all set, 
sir" said Jerry as he came into the room "thanks. Oh and don't call the airport" 
Jerry showed confusion "then how do you plan to travel, sir?" Ash laughed 
"driving. It will give more publicity to the league" Jerry laughed "that's all 
they know about. Publicity" Ash nodded "yes. And its something to deal with you 
know. Lately few trainers have made it past the last few gyms before the league" 
Ash stood up form the chair he was at "well its time to go"

He opened the car and turned around "I'll see you in a few weeks" he shook 
Jerry's hand "be careful master" Ash nodded as he climbed into the car "I 
will…see you around" he drove off into the distance once more. His speed was 
constant and the scenery worthwhile "this is what I needed" his cell rang and he 
picked it up "yea?" he heard for a while then spoke again "no Gary. Its just a 
vacation I'm taking" he listened some more "ok…later" he closed the small 
apparatus "maybe he's right. Yea that's what I'll do, I'll go look for her!" he 
pressed the pedal on the fast car and shifted the gear "Misty…I'm coming for 
you"

He parked in the gas station "excuse me. Where is the closes hotel" the man 
turned around "about 30 miles away" Ash nodded as he paid the man. Once more he 
headed on the road "but what if she's already taken?" the doubt came back to him 
but he faced it this time "its just a risk I will have to take" he saw some 
lights in the distance "a hotel. Finally some rest" he went into the parking lot 
and placed his car in the vast corner "I just hope they have some rooms" he 
opened the door and went to the counter. A young girl came to his attendance 
"have any rooms left?" she nodded "why yes, sir"

He threw the bag on the floor "I need a shower" he went into the bathroom and 
came out and hour later "refreshing" he sat on the window side "if you could 
only be here now" he stared out the window imagining what it would have been 
like if he had her by his side. He climbed into the bed "why did I let you go 
Mist. I had you with me already…why…leave…" his eyes closed and he fell asleep. 
The early sun graced at him making him open his eyes and sit up "shoot. I 
overslept" he ran into the shower. An hour later he was already on the road 
again "just some more time and I will be with you"

Misty sat as her sister served her breakfast "thanks Violet" she smiled and went 
back into the kitchen. It had long been since her two other sisters moved away 
with their husbands and left her and Violet. "hey I been thinking. Whatever 
happened to that kid uh…Ash" Misty sigh softly so her sister wouldn't noticed 
"he…became the champion" Violet nodded "and did he ever call you or anything?" 
Misty shook her head as she took a bite from her toast. Violet sat besides her 
"you know, I think you two made a good couple" Misty blushed but giggled to hide 
it "he was ok I guess" Violet stared at her "did you ever fall for him?" Misty 
knew she had and still did "um…let's eat breakfast before it gets cold"

They were both walking down the street "I heard there's a new store for water 
PKMN if you want to go" Misty looked at her "and where are you going to go?" 
Violet smiled as she stopped in front of a boutique "in here" Misty smiled at 
her sister "ok. I'll call you later. Bye" they waved at each other then took 
their ways. It wasn't long before Misty found the store "wow! This place is 
really big" she began to search all their lined up merchandise "may I help you, 
miss?" she looked at the vendor "you?!" the woman looked at her surprised then 
with integrity "I remember you…your name is Misty" the woman giggled "its 
me…Jesse!"

Misty was still confused when the woman let her hair down "it is you…" Misty 
took no chances and went straight for her Poke balls "no wait!" she stopped half 
way in the throw "I don't want to fight you or him…if he's with you" Misty 
blushed at the reminder of Ash "so what are you doing here?" Jesse rubbed the 
back of her head "well…me and James set up this store after we left the Rockets" 
Misty admired once more the store "how you escape?" Jesse turned around to hide 
a small tear "its something I don't want to talk about" Misty nodded silently.

The two new friends as to say, were now all over the store "maybe this will 
help" Jesse gave Misty a small bottle containing some potion "wow! Thanks Jess" 
before she went on to give her more stuff, she asked "so where's James?" Jesse 
stopped and turned around "he's at home still recovering" Misty placed a face of 
confusion "what happened to him" Jess gave a sigh then talked "when we were 
escaping from R.H.Q., several man saw us" she stopped to take some time before 
she went on "and one of them started shooting at us" Misty expressed concern 
"I'm sorry"

Jesse released a small tear but still continued "after the last shot was fired, 
we thought we had made it…soon we found it to be a foolish mistake. Two members 
found us and aimed threatening to kill us if we did anything" Misty gave though 
at the many times they had faced them "poor James" Jesse nodded and continued 
"suddenly James threw himself at them and told me to run" she released yet 
another tear "I ran with all my strength through the trees as tears strived down 
my face" Misty felt sad as she heard her story "my feet were weak and I felled 
passing out instantly" Jesse swept away some of her tears "later I found myself 
in a house. Next to me was James bleeding badly but taking care of me" Misty 
began to feel her tears coming as well.

Jesse stood up "I'm sorry…I just can't continue with this" Misty nodded and 
stood up as well giving her a hug to assure her everything would be ok "I'm sure 
James will recover. And so will you" Jesse smiled as she stared at Misty 
faithfully "I have to go Jesse. But I'll come some other time to visit you ok" 
Jesse gave one last hug to her old enemy and now friend "thanks for 
understanding, Misty" she just smiled "well see you around" she went out the 
door as Jesse waved at her. Misty was still asking herself about Jesse's story 
"it must have been tough on her…poor thing" she looked up to see her sister in 
her car already "come on Misty!" she jumped in "why the hurry, sis?"

Ash had long been sitting in the stairs "where could she be?" he looked at his 
watch "its very late…" he stood up ready to leave when "looking for someone?" 
asked a female voice "huh? Oh yes. As a matter of fact I am" the lady walked to 
his side "who is that?" she asked forcefully "well…its an old friend I haven't 
seen in a long time" Ash saw the car the lady had "ah…you must be Ash" he nodded 
happily she recognized him "I'm Violet, Mist's sister" just hearing her name 
made Ash's heart be filled with joy "I remember. So where's Misty?" Violet 
smiled "first tell me. What made you come all this way?" ash blushed "that's 
kind of…personal" Violet twitched her lip "well if you can't tell me…I can't say 
where Misty is" Ash felt he was between the wall and the sword "ok. I want to 
see her again. I miss her very much and I…" he stopped "and you love her, don't 
you?" he nodded sheepishly "you see. It is inevitable that you loved her" he 
walked to his car "yes. But maybe I have made a mistake by coming here…by now 
she doesn't even remember me"

The car's engine went on "where are you going?" he looked at the wheel "I don't 
know. it's a large world out there" a face showed on his window "hey Ash. Why 
leave so soon?" he felt his heart stop. That voice, that sense that always 
swayed in her "Misty…" she smiled as he saw his face once more "I missed you, 
Ash" he smiled as he opened his door and took her into his arms "I'm sorry for 
not telling you" she closed her eyes and awaited what she wanted so long to 
hear. He released to see her Aqua eyes. Of course, by now she was not a teenager 
no more, but a beautiful lady "Misty…all this years we have lived together. I 
have hidden a deep secret from you" her eyes glittered as she listened "Misty I 
want you know what I really feel for you…"

Their lips met in a passionate lock that was indeed desired for so long "Ash…I 
hid that same secret that tormented our lives as well. My strength was not 
enough to support the courage I needed to tell you what I wanted you to know…" 
he kissed her once more then Ash noticed something, Misty was vanishing "Misty 
don't leave me…" his surroundings dragged behind her "Misty!" he began to run 
after his love "please don't go" she waved at him "why didn't you tell me, Ash. 
Why did you hide it from me? Now its too late for us…" he shook his head no 
Misty. I still love you, please don't do this to me"

A loud knock woke him up "huh?" he turned to his car's passenger side "excuse 
me. I was wondering if you were ok" Ash nodded as he turned the car off "yes. 
I'm just a bit tired from driving…by the way, do you know how far Cerulean City 
is from here?" the man thought and shook his head "sorry, mate. But I could lend 
you a map if you like" Ash nodded. Once more the door flew by him as he exceeded 
the limit "almost there!" indeed, it was a matter of hours before he arrived "I 
just hope my dream isn't a reality" he changed lanes and released the pedal some 
as he saw a cop in front "don't want to waste any time"

Hours passed and he felt it "I better call Gary" he picked up his cell "Hey 
Jerry, is Gary around" he waited then frowned "I see. Well when he returns tell 
him to give me a call and to send the errands I had in my office. Take care, 
bye" he closed it and threw it to his side "there it is" he began to see the 
tall buildings rise in his front view "hasn't change since I last saw it" he 
remembered the last time had been to the beautiful city as well as who he had 
been with. The car came to a slow stop in front of the gym "seems like I was 
just here yesterday" a knock on the door was all he did and waited several 
minutes "maybe they're not home" he turned around as a young man about his age 
maybe older came to him.

Ash stared at him then spoke "um hi" the man kept his silence until he decided 
to trust Ash "who are you and what are you doing here?" Ash looked at the gym 
"are you the new owner of this gym or something related?" the man shook his head 
"of course not. I just go out with one of the beautiful trainers that own this 
place" Ash's mind came deep clogged "w-who is that person?" a sinister smile 
from the person didn't give him a good sense at all "why…I'm going out with 
Misty, the most beautiful of them all" he stared at him silently, and in 
completely shock "why, there she is right now" Ash turned to see Misty climb out 
of her sister's car and the man ran to her "Misty, my love. You have returned" 
Misty blushed then turned to Ash "what are y-you doing h-here?" she asked 
nervously "yes. Same thing I asked him" added the man as he placed his arm 
around her.

Ash slowly walk down the steps and dropped the red roses he had with him "Ash…" 
he closed his eyes and small tears released of the pain he was experiencing "I 
understand everything now" he looked at her straight "sometimes I asked 
myself…what I was missing" Misty began to walk up to him slowly "and then I saw 
it…I needed  you" Misty saw as the tears dripped down his face and onto the 
floor "Ash…let me ex--" he continued not bothering to listen "for once I faced 
my fear and build up my courage to tell you what I had hid all those years" he 
looked at her with sadness and hatred "I guess in the heart no one rules…"

He wiped his face "I guess this trip was in vain…or maybe not. At least I got a 
big doubt off my back" Misty shook her head not believing him "please Ash, just 
let me tell you" Ash shook his head "there's nothing to explain here, Misty. I 
had my chance many years ago, and I let it slip by" Misty finally reached him 
and took his hand "Ash its not what you think--" he yanked his hand from her 
"then what is it, Misty! I have suffered so long for you and yet I should 
continue" her eyes didn't hold it and she released her tears "my greatest dream 
was to become a PKMN Master and I got it…yet my greatest love I have lost"

Ash began to walk towards his car "Ash don't do this to her" said Violet as she 
ran to Ash "she loves you, Ash. I'm sure of it, just let her talk" Ash stopped 
and shook his head "there is nothing to talk about. I can't do anything about it 
now and you know that. I guess…sometimes we win and sometimes we lose…" he 
climbed in and drove off "Ash…" Misty cried as she saw him drive away thinking 
about what she had just done "I knew this would happen, Misty. I told you not to 
listen to that boy but you still went on and now see what happened" she nodded 
as she dropped her head "and you…get your ugly self out of my face" the man 
walked away with a sinister smile on his face.

Ash kept on driving as the wind dried his face as it continued to cry "come on 
Ash, pull yourself together" he looked into the mirror to see a very familiar 
car "no way" he stepped on the pedal and the car sped up "don't want you 
anymore" he said to himself as he drove past other cars "stop following me!" he 
yelled as Violet drove besides him "just listen to her, Ash" his answer was 
about to be the same, but that time he never had "Ash look out!" it was too 
late. The car hit which such force that he passed out "Ash!"

Lights, beeps, and other sounds surrounded him "w-where--" he felt a hand caress 
his face "its ok" he recognized the voice "Misty…" she nodded "hello, sir. Are 
we feeling better?" he smiled "thanks for coming, J-Jerry" his eyes slowly 
closed "I'm sorry Ash…" were the last words he heard. Jerry sat down "I hope he 
recovers soon. He's a good man and a great trainer" Misty turned to Jerry "how 
did you met Ash, Jerry?" he turned to her and smiled forcefully "it was about 3 
years ago, I was working for master Seta" Misty remembered such a name from some 
place "he had just captured a very rare PKMN. That day was wonderful for him…but 
something happened" Misty began to get very curious "his new PKMN…it came out of 
his PB (Poke Ball) and stood there" Jerry looked at Ash before he continued "it 
was preparing to attack. Master Seta threw out all his PKMN…fail to be 
victorious" Violet remembered that name too "he was killed in an instant…and I 
would have been dead if it weren't for sir Ash" Misty took Ash's hand "kind-
hearted as always…"

There was a knock on the door and Gary came in "ah good day to you, Gary" said 
Jerry as he stood up to salute him "hey Jerry. How's Ash doing?" he walked past 
Misty not even bothering to look at her "long time it has been" he just nodded 
as he looked at his friend "Gary?" he didn't say nor took action "what's your 
pro--" he turned around angry as could be "my problem?…its you. Why you have to 
chase him? Why couldn't you just let him be?" Violet shook her head "Ash is 
wrong about Misty. She loves him but he denies it" Gary laughed sarcastically 
"Ash does love you, Misty. But I think you just couldn't wait for him…"

Misty shed tears "Gary! Stop doing this to her" he turned to face Violet "I've 
been spying on you since Ash left to find you" Misty took her hands out of her 
face "what are you talking about?" he shook his head "stop acting innocent. I 
saw you many times with that man" Misty fell in aw "that's just it, Gary. I'm 
forced to be with him" Gary frowned "what do you mean forced?" Misty closed her 
eyes "when I was born…my father and his friend decided it would be best if I 
married his son" Violet walked to the window not wanting to hear the story "my 
mother denied…but he still sign the paper"

Misty stood up and went to Ash's side "she left him and us promising to return 
when we were older…she never did" Jerry placed his hand on his chest "17 years 
later I meet the boy I had been given to…still I had fallen in love with Ash" 
she took his hand and hold it tight "now everyday I have to see him until the 
wedding" Gary raised both eyebrows "so your still not married" she shook her 
head "I still have several days" Jerry went to Gary's side "are you planning 
what I think you are?" he asked as a smile formed "if it's the only way to get 
them together…then of course" both girls looked at them confused.

Gary stood up from his chair "well let's put the plan into action" both Misty 
and Violet looked at each other "what plan?" they asked "Gary gave a sinister 
smile "the one we are going to do to get you and Ash back together" Misty could 
feel her heart race of excitement "I'll do anything to be back with him" Gary 
nodded then turned to Jerry "let's begin…". Gary and Violet had decided to make 
a visit to Misty's future husband "well before we get there, I want you to know 
that there is no reasoning with that man" Gary didn't say anything "I just hope 
whatever it is you are planning…that it works" this time he smiled. Violet, 
older than him, took Gary's hand "Gary…" his face change to a red beet that was 
very noticeable.

Misty and Gary had decided to stay with Ash for the time "M-Misty…" she quickly 
hurried to his side "Yes Ash? What is it?" Ash's forced a smile "I need to 
confess you something" Misty smiled at him as a tear dropped hitting his face 
"don't c-cry, Misty" her hand tightened on his "its just…I need you so much Ash 
and I can barely stand to see you like this" Ash caressed her face "kiss me…" 
she blinked twice then smiled "Ash…"

Jerry stepped outside to give them some privacy "I'm sorry I had to involucrate 
you in this, Ash" her eyes glittered with tears "Misty…" the girl he loved so 
much was in front of her and for him, that was all he really wanted. Gary 
stopped in front of a luxurious house "I-I think w-we're here" he announced 
still some nervous for Violet's past incident "oh…well let's go!" she got out of 
the car quickly as Gary gave a sigh "Gary! Come on!" he turned to her scared "c-
coming" the house was very large "its nothing compared to Ash's" Violet rolled 
her eyes "good afternoon. May I help you?" Gary stared at Violet who had 
suddenly paralyzed.

They both walked into the house "Gary slowed down" she whispered to him 
"Violet…this was your idea. Now move it" she smiled "me and my big mouth" they 
entered a large room once more "Monsieur Damien. Visitors" the butler left them 
with the creepy owner "hello…both of you" his tone was almost that of a laughter 
of such company "thus I did not have anything else to do, at least I have some 
company to keep me entertained" the man stared at Violet evilly "forget about it 
pal. You are not getting near her!" Violet turned to Gary very surprised for his 
sudden reaction "well, well, well. It seems we have a little jealousy in here" 
Gary clinched his fists tight.

The man came walking over to Violet "I had forgotten how beautiful you were, my 
dear" Gary pulled her back from him "I'm warning you…" the man laughed 
"please…let's act like gentleman that we are" he sat in the table and faced them 
"now what can I do for you two? Need financial help?" Gary laughed "if you saw 
how much I already have without your help" this time Gary had the upper hand in 
the debate "well…if not money it is. Then what?" Gary turned to Violet "Misty is 
not marrying you" a shadow came over the man's look "oh really. What makes you 
think that?" Gary smiled as his gaze made the man nervous.

Violet placed a hand on Gary's shoulder "do it…" with a smile on his face, he 
took out a small paper "read this" the man took it and read it slowly "its 
not…true" Gary took Violet's hand from his shoulder and hold it tight "I'm 
afraid it is…" Gary took the paper back "your little plan is over, Damien Mason" 
the man looked at the floor then smiled "Misty will be mine…I promise" he took 
of running "where is he going…"a flash went through her mind "the hospital!" 
they began heading the way the man had gone "where do you think you're going?!" 
Gary stopped dead in his tracks "you little--" the man laughed sarcastically 
"careful what you say…wouldn't want to bring your death a bit to soon, now would 
we"

Ash opened his eyes "Gary!" Misty woke up from her small nap "what is it Ash?" 
her hand caressed his face as he took it with his own "Gary is in danger and so 
is your sister…" Misty widened her eyes "are y-you sure, Ash?" he nodded looking 
sadly at her "we must find them" Misty shook her head "no, Ash. I'll do it" ash 
was already up by the time she said this "Ash please listen to me!" Ash stopped 
and turned to her "we need to help them" the little mouse gave him his hat and 
jumped on his shoulder "let's go, Misty" she shook her head as she stood up.

Ash arrived and parked behind Gary's car "they're still here" Misty ran after 
him "Ash wait!" he turned and saw someone behind her "Misty!" the man ran 
towards her but Ash was already there awaiting with his fist "get in the car 
Mist!" Ash faced the man as thus stood up "it seems I am late to the party" 
commented Ash "well actually I am the one late" he reached into his back and 
took out a switch "this whole mansion will become dust if you don't do what I 
say" Ash turned to Gary's car "are they in there" Damien just smiled "Damn you!" 
Ash swore under his breath as Damien began to walk towards Misty "Ash! Don't let 
him get away" his gaze came upon Gary and Violet.

Damien turned to see his ex prisoners "how you--" there was no time as Ash 
tackled him and they rolled in the ground. Misty suddenly recognized something 
small in Damien's hand "he has a gun…" A shot was heard as both rolled to the 
side "Ash…please no" Damien slowly began to move "Ash!" yelled Gary as he ran 
towards his friend "he's ok…" spoke Damien "Ash Ketchum…you h-have defeated m-
me…" he fell back once more as Ash sat up "Damien…may you rest in peace…"

Afterword…

They both, now married, came out of the house holding hands. Ash sat with her in 
the small bench swing "I still think Damien wasn't that bad of a guy" Misty 
smiled as she leaned on him who knows. Maybe he just needed a friend" Ash gave 
her a small kiss "hello lovebirds "they both turned to Gary and Violet "look 
who's talking" replied Misty as Gary and Violet blushed. The 4 of them went 
inside "Ash Ketchum?" Ash stopped as the rest went in "hello…Damien" a sinister 
laugh was heard…
