I Stand Alone

Prologue: Bloody Words.

Darkness. That's the best way I can describe it. These times are awful. Ever since Ash lost it, nothing has been the same. Misty won't stop crying, and even Jesse and James have been showing up to comfort us. I have no clue what started his mad rampage. It must have been the power he held. He's officially the best trainer in the world and is, to be blunt, unstoppable. He is not the Ash I know anymore. He betrayed me and even when I die, I will never have forgiven him. He killed poor Professor Oak and even his own mother couldn't help. He murdered her. He killed Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket when he found out that he was his father, and he would be the heir to the fortunes. And now he's hunting me down, to steal my pokemon and leave me for dead. But I won't allow him the pleasure. I already secured my pokemon with a trustworthy person, who may just be the only person that can put an end to this time of terror. But I won't be around to see it happen. At least when I die, I will know that there still remains a spark of hope for my friends and family. But I've nothing to live for. So as my final words, and my final proclamation, I want to say that I would rather die at my own hands than at the hands of the maniac I once considered my friend, so good bye.

Yours Truly, Brock Slate.

BANG!

"Heh." a cold voice muttered, "oh, how touching."
Ash Ketchum stared at the corpse of his one time friend, face down on a table with a gun in one hand aimed at his head, but with a bullet in his back.
"Too bad. The poor fool didn't even get a chance to die at his own hands." he chuckled, putting his smoking pistol back into its holster.
