The Day We Meet

(Pallet Town’s Café) 
 

“Ash, don’t you think it is a little early for me to meet your mom? We have only 
been going out 17 months!” May said nervously. 

 

“May, my mom has been dying to meet you! She never has thought I would like 
someone as much as I liked Misty!” Ash said, as his eyes grew wider. 

 

“Why did you have to bring her up? You know what her last visit was like!” May 
said remembering a day she won’t soon forget. 

 

*Flashback*

 “What a wonderful day it is! The trees are swaying back and forth from the 
light breeze and my Torchic is so happy! Max is still being a pest, but I’m used 
to that!” May thought to herself as she walked out of her pink tent. 

She went to see what Brock, a wonderful cook, made for breakfast. On her way 
there she spotted her 7-month boyfriend Ash on a log kissing Misty! 
*End Flashback* 
 

“That kiss meant nothing. I wasn’t even kissing her back!” Ash said as he gazed 
at a familiar looking girl sitting behind May. 

 

“You are impossible Ash!” May said storming out of the café not noticing a red-
haired girl coming in. 

 

The girl was familiar to Ash. The small Psyduck yellow shirt and the short 
shorts with expanders keeping them up. The only thing Ash didn’t recognize was 
the long curly hair. 

Ash was amazed about the similarity of the girl walking in and Misty. “That 
can’t be Misty! There is a man walking with her!” He thought to himself 
completely sure it wasn’t her. 
The lady started walking closer to Ash and her and the man sat at the table with 
him. 
 

“Hi Ash! It’s me Misty. This is my boyfriend Rudy.” Misty said as she looked at 
Ash the same way she had before. 

 

“Hi! I hardly recognized you.” Ash said speechless of the sight before him. 

 

“Rudy, go get us some drinks. Ice tea with a lemon and how about some 
cheesecake.” Misty said pushing her boyfriend along. “Ash, I think we should get 
together some time.” 

 

“Misty, you know that I don’t like you like that anymore!” Ash said as he 
thought about what May told him. 

 

“I just want to talk! Meet me by the docks tomorrow at 6 a.m.” Misty said as 
Rudy sat down with the drinks and food. “Don’t be late!’ Misty whispered to Ash 
so Rudy couldn’t hear. 

 

“I have to go! Nice to see you again Misty and nice to meet you…Rudy.” Ash said 
getting up out of his chair and heading toward the door. On his way out he took 
one more quick glance at Misty wondering why she asked him to meet her. She 
waved good-bye. 

Ash headed towards his mom’s house and when he got there went right to sleep. 
He woke up the next morning at 4 and was astonished to see a note on his 
computer. He got out of his bed in fright and walked towards it. He carefully 
pulled the note off and read it. 
 

*Dear Ash, 

Remember to meet me at the docks today at 6 A.M. don’t be late. I heard you and 
May broke up! SORRY! I hope it wasn’t because me. I want to show you something.

Ash didn’t believe his eyes, was it a real Love always or just as a friend? 
“Does Misty still like me? What does she want to show me?” Ash asked himself 
trying to figure out what had happened. 

Ash looked at the clock, he was thinking so much that he lost 2 hours! It was 6 
and he had to go! He rushed out the door after putting on his clothes and went 
to meet Misty.
