Part 1: Hijacking

11.09.2020; 7:50pm - Air Force Base

"Ready?"
"Yes, fire it up."
"Checklist?"
"Done. We're good to go."
"I'm all geared up. Lets move!"
"I'm going up with you. You need to be debriefed on the situation."
"Come on, we don't have much time."

A high-pitched roar came from the stealth planes' engines as it was started. It begun taxiing down to the take-off runway. The plane halted when it reached the strip. Another roar was emitted from the engines, preparing it for take-off. Accelerating faster, the pilot pulled back on the controls; lifting the plane off into the sky.

"We're in-flight."
"Good, everything working well?"
"Great."
"What's our ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) to our destination?"
"About 45 minutes." the pilot responded.
"Good, thanks Major Boltage."
"Sure thing, better get ready."
"Heh."

"Okay, this is what we have, ready?"
"Yeah, go."

The Intelligence officer unzips the green bag he brought along with him. He pulls out a black laptop computer; flips up the screen, and presses the 'on' button. The screen illuminates, fading into various colors.

"20 minutes to destination."

The laptop beeps as it prompts for a high-level security code.

"Alpha-D23-Delta, Operation: Active Bird."

The computer zips through its many screens of info, logging into the mission file. The Intel began debriefing...

"Okay, here's the 747 that was hijacked," he said pointing to the blue prints of the plane on screen. The entry hatch was highlighted in red. "This is the point of entry, the Avionics room. You should expect no one to be there."
"Uh-huh."
"The 747 will be unable to detect us, because this is a stealth aircraft. Entry will be a bit complicated though."
"Why, what have you got me doing?"
"When directly under the 747, Major Boltage will extend this planes' telescopic vertical terminal (TVT)." He explained as the process was demonstrated on screen. "The TVT will then be pressurized to match both planes' level of pressure. You will open the hatch to enter the TVT. Climb up. Once you enter," he handed over a device, "you must use that transparent device, the 'Trigger Deactivator'. You will need to locate a small trigger, which will be switched on when you open the Avionics hatch. Place the trigger deactivator there, so the guys in the cockpit won't notice the hatch was opened."
"I see, it does sound a bit complicated...but easy. How many onboard?"
"Flight records read that there are around 300 passengers."
"Whoa...and bad guys?"
"We believe about 8-10 guys. All armed. They all are dressed similarly, so you should easily recognize them. If there are anymore...wipe them out. We don't need these idiots killing 300 or so citizen lives."
"Heh, sure thing."
"Once aboard, the major and I will detach and head home. You will be solely on your own. Use your pokémon they will be helpful. Clear the aircraft of threat, and tell the pilot to land at Johnson's International Airport. We have already cleared you for landing. You will have all the time you need, good luck."
"Uh, yeah, thanks," said the operative with a puzzled face.

He sighed, trying to predict what will happen. After a while, he grabs his own bag and opens it. He takes out a M93R semi-auto handgun, and checks to see if it is in working order. He reassures himself with a silent 'mm-hmm'. He loads a 20-round mag into it and retreats it into the empty hostler at his side. He digs into his bag once more, this time taking out a CAR-15 assault rifle. Checks it and loads it; this will be his primary weapon.

"Are they your guns?" asked Intel.
"Mm-mm," the operative said, accompanied by a nod. "These are rentals from the Armory."
"And pokémon?"
"Nope, these three are also loaners."
"When are you going to get your own?"
"Soon. I'm having them custom-built with a very good friend of mine. He's also a weapons specialist, like me, but he's an expert. But about pokémon...I don't know."

The operative straps the CAR-15 over his shoulder. He attaches some extra clips to his belt, in case he needs more. Ready, he sits back, and waits patiently.

"5 minutes, and closing."

This operative has black hair. His eyes light brown, sharp, striking and aggressive. He's 5'11" with a good build. He's been a loner all his life; no one really knows him, but a few friends. Plus, he's never loved anyone. This man...is I. I am Sam Denton. I'm 19 years old. I joined the military at 17. The year is now 2020. My mother was killed when I was only 15; they never found out who it was, and they never caught them. My father, Paul Denton, is a colonel with the military. I don't see much of him though. I don't currently have any pokémon due to the fact that the military won't allow it. They always give us the pokémon we use, but at the end they always go back to where they are stored. I rose up the ranks pretty quickly, thanks to my father's recommendations.

"We're directly under the plane. I'm raising the TVT now. Stand by."

The mechanical sounds of the TVT whirred as it extended to meet the plane flying above.

"We're connected, everything's good. Go up."
"Alright."

I got up from where I was sitting and opened the first hatch to enter the TVT. I climbed up the ladder, and opened the next hatch. Once in, I reached into my pocket and grasped the trigger deactivator. Looking around inside, I found the switch and placed the TD there. The TVT below me began to tremble violently.

"What's going on?!" I exclaimed. "It's shaking!!"
Major Boltage: "We're getting extremely high levels of turbulence! Hurry up, we aren't going to last much longer."
Intel: "Good luck, use your communication system if you need anything."

I grunted; quickly closed the hatch, and sat down, trying to calm myself. The stealth aircraft's TVT cracked, and whittled away into millions of pieces.

"We aren't doing well!!" exclaimed Major Boltage.
Intel: "What's wrong?!"
Major Boltage: "Oh-no...."

The plane banked left, descending into a loud *BOOM*. A huge explosion enveloped the area around the plane.

Sam: "Hey! Are you there?! What happened?!"
--Static--
Sam: "Do you read?"
--Static--
Sam to himself: "That explosion...it must've been them. Damn..."

I turned off my communication system, and sat down.

11.09.2020; 8:35pm - 747 in-flight

Pilot #1: "Did you see that?"
Pilot #2: "What?"
Pilot #1: "The Avionics Room hatch light just blinked."
Pilot #2: "But, that's impossible, the whole plane's pressurized."
Pilot #1: "Hmm, must've been a malfunction."
Pilot #2: "Yeah."
Terrorist #4: "What's the problem?" he asked. "What was that?"
Pilot #1: "Nothing, just some technical screw-up."

The Terrorist Leader popped his head in.

Leader: "What was that booming thing?"
Pilot #2: "Possibly just turbulence."
Terrorist #4: "A light came from panel...Avionics they say."
Leader: "What?!" He stood thinking for a minute. "You, come, check it out!"
Pilot #2: "But--"
Leader: "Now!!" interrupted the terrorist with a gun pointing to the pilot.

Down below Sam was preparing for the operation, gathering all the info possible.

I placed mini-cameras around the plane during the last few minutes and connected them to my laptop. Flipping through the views, I counted ten terrorists. "Ten terrorists!! Crap! They all seem to be carrying assault rifles. How am I--" My speech was interrupted by some footsteps and voices. I hurriedly switched through the screens and discovered they were opening a door to come down here. I quickly scurried into a very dark corner of the room and readied the M93R.

Leader: "Come on, open faster!"
Pilot #2: "Hold on," making a few turns of the lever, it opened, "There ya go."
Leader: "Go in, check!"

The nervous pilot looked at him anxiously. He made his way down to the bottom. The pilot looked around the avionics room carefully. He spotted Sam in a corner. Sam lifted his gun to his lips.

"Shhhh...I'm a good guy, don't say a word."

The pilot was in overwhelming shock, trying to put together how Sam even got onboard. He nods, responding to Sam's suggestion. The pilot climbed back up.

Pilot #2: "Just some disconnected wires, I fixed it."
Leader: "Hmm...go down there and check," he said to his comrade. "I'll be back in the cockpit."

The leader and pilot head back to the cockpit. The other terrorist comes down the ladder. I could hear his footsteps. I screwed a silencer onto the M93R and held it in my hand. The terrorist reached the floor and turned around. I aimed and quickly pulled the trigger three times. That sent three lethal bullets into his chest, digging a few holes into him. He let out a weak cry, and fell head first to the floor. I walked over and tested his pulse.

"Heh, nine terrorists."

I dragged his body away from the ladder. I climbed up and quietly closed the door. "I could use that door," I said to myself. I went back to my computer, and set down the gun that was in my hand. "Nine terrorists, hmmm...lets see what pokémon they gave me." I unlatched the three pokéballs from my belt. "Alright, everyone come out, quietly." They opened and three pokémon popped up. Pichu, Hitmonchan, and Chikorita.

"Hmm...hey guys, listen up. We've got to do this fast."
"Pi. Mon-chan. Chikor." They all responded together.
"Okay, first I'm going to have Pichu short-circuit the lighting system. Think you can handle that?"
"Pichu."
"Fine, Chikorita and Hitmonchan will come up with me. Hitmonchan, you knock'em out; Chikorita, you use your vine whip to restrain them so I can get a clear shot. Alright?! Are we ready?!"

They all responded; to my surprise they were up to the challenge, knowing they could get hurt...they are still willing to risk their lives, like me. I got my guns ready, and stationed myself just under the door to the main cabin; which was where most of the terrorists were. "Okay Pichu, hit it!" *ZAP*, in a flash of electricity Pichu shocked the electronics system just enough to shut off the lights. I put on NVG's (Night Vision Goggles) to help me with visual clarity.

Leader: "What the hell?!!"

???: "He's here, make sure you eliminate him. Bosses orders."
???: "Mm-hmm..."

I opened the door and climbed out. Just ahead of me was a terrorist in the isle. *BANG, BANG, BANG!!!*. Three bullets were shot at him, taking him down. Chikorita and Hitmonchan went about their duties.

"Mon, chan, mon, chan." He froze one to death with his ice punches.
"Chikor!"

I turned towards Chikorita and saw that he had restrained another terrorist. *BANG!*, a shot to the head did it. Chikorita let him go, he fell bleeding from his head. I advanced a little through the cabin. *RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!!* We were being shot at.

"Watch out guys!!" I said while crouching.
*RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!!*
"AAHHH!!"

I looked in the direction of the scream and saw that Chikorita had strangled the shooter. I grinned a little. Around back, Hitmonchan had already taken out another foe.

"Hitmon!" he confirmed.

Advancing forward I encountered another one. *BANG, BANG!* I nailed him with the CAR-15. "I'm going up to first class!" Almost everyone in the plane was yelling and screaming. After clearing the main cabin I proceeded to first class; where I encountered two more foes. *RAT-TAT-TAT,* I ducked to the side and fired back.

"Chikorita! Use you razor leaf to try to knock the guns out of their hands!"
"Chik-or!" A bunch of leaves came from the leaf on his head. "Ouch!" "Ahh!" Chikorita successfully knocked the guns away.

"Freeze! Hands in the air!" They both went for their guns.
"Hitmonchan!" I yelled as I shot one dead. Hitmonchan froze the other one. "That's nine down, right? Wait, there were 10!" The last one, the Leader, could only be in the cockpit in front of me. I approached the door to the cockpit. The door flung open.

"Get Down!" I yelled. *RAT-TAT-TAT!* I returned fire, *BANG, BANG, BANG!* The bullets caught him in the chest and stomach. "Uh.....uuuhhhh..." were his last sounds. He fell and passed away. I let out a big *Sigh*, glad it was over.

"Pichu! Lights!" I yelled as I took off my NVG's. The lights sparked on and I walked over to the pilots.

Pilot #1: "Thank you..."
Pilot #2: "You saved us..."

???: "Alright, cut the crap. You must be Sam..." The man cocked his gun and aimed at me. There was little time to react.*BANG!*
"AHH!" The bullet caught me in my leg, it seems he wanted me to suffer...
???: "You fool..." He shot the two pilots behind me. The plane began losing control.
"Who the hell are you?! Why did you do this?!" He began backing up, then stopped.
???: "Do what? Plan this hijacking? Heh, we knew you would come.... we did this to kill you, so you wouldn't interfere...I'm just doing my job..." He opened the hatch on the side of the plane, and took out a pokéball. "Pidgeot, go!"
"Pidgeeeeot!!"
???: "Goodbye." He takes aim once again.

*BANG!* One more shot, this time, I'm not sure but...to my heart. He jumps out onto Pidgeot and flies off. I could feel intense pain...especially in my chest. I begun wondering why I hadn't blacked out and died yet...that shot was so close; no...it had to be direct, he was too close. I had just enough strength to put the plane on autopilot and close the opened hatch. The plane began leveling out and a few minutes later, I felt a violent tremor. The plane had finally crash-landed. The landing was so rough...that I hit my head on a lever and suddenly blacked out.

The plane came to a screeching halt. Luckily it had landed right on the runway, thanks to the autopilot. Emergency teams scattered around. Those emergency slides were inflated and the passengers all exited. The emergency teams took all wounded, harmed, and dead. Police and Media were also there, getting their share of action.

11.09.2020; 10:25 - Airport runway strip

Medic: "Is that all?"
Police: "No, one more. We found him in first class. He had weapons and three pokémon with him."
Medic: "He seems so young..." he said in despair. "Who is he?"
Police: "I'm not sure, but the way it seems...this kid is a soldier they sent to save the plane. We found thirteen other dead bodies. Three frozen, one strangled, the rest had gunshot wounds. They were identified as a terrorist gang. This kid's a hero..."

????: "Yes, it looks like he is."
Police: "Who are you?!"
????: "Just someone he knows. Check him." A team of three medics this man brought with him checked Sam.
Medic #1: "Huh?!"
????: "What?! You get out of here!" The cop and other medics left the area.
Medic #2: "He's dead I think. He isn't breathing."
Medic #3: "No, it's incredible...but I think we can save him."
????: "Bring him, we'll do more research at the compound."
Medics #1,2, & 3: "Yes, sir!"

They loaded Sam into a car and took off.

11.10.2020; 7:10 - Paul's house

TV news: "Last night, a plane crash-landed on a runway in Johnson's International Airport. The plane was hijacked in mid-flight by a group of terrorists. Few were injured, and thirteen dead. Ten of which were terrorists, two pilots, and one who appears to have been these passengers' savior. No passengers got a clear view of him, but he is identified as Major Sam Denton, a 19-year-old soldier with the military. Major Denton, on behalf of all the passengers on board, thank you. My husband was on that flight. This is TVN news, good day."

Paul Denton: "WHAT?! NOOO!!! Damn it." He began whimpering. "Sam, I'm sorry." He bangs his hand on the counter, holding his head down in sorrow. Just then two men break into Paul's home, both armed. They went into the kitchen...

Bad guy #1: "Heh, lose a son?"
Paul: "It was you?! You're organization did this!!!!" Paul runs at them in rage.
*BANG!* Shot in the head, he falls to his death. The two guys ran out of the house, got in their car and sped off. There lay Sam's father...dead.

Now, all the Denton's have been eliminated...or have they?

11.11.2020; 3:00pm - Secret Compound

Sam lays silently on a Medical bed, doctors around him, testing, observing him. They connect various machines to him, for monitoring his conditions. Suddenly...

Doctor: "Hey! He's breathing again!! And there's a distant pulse."
Doctor2: "Look at this!"

Some doctors wandered over to the screen. The bullet shot into Sam's chest just barely missed his heart.

Doctor: "He's in a pre-death state; a coma perhaps."
Doctor2: "Let's remove both bullets from him. Then he'll heal better, or we could speed up the process."
????: "How long do you suppose he'll be like this?" The doctors chat amongst themselves.
Doctor: "It looks like he'll go 5-10 years."
????: "Very well then, we will wait. Remove the bullets."

The doctors performed surgery on Sam, carefully removing both bullets from his body.

Doctor3: "That's two."
Doctor: "Good, let's move him to a rehabilitation room, so he'll heal faster and will not scar."

They quickly cleaned up and moved Sam to a room. As days pass by, doctors check him, making sure he's still well and alive.

????: "I hope that kid becomes well someday. He may be our only hope."
???: "I know..."
