Disclaimer: I own Kathy, Fox, the special Dratini and Laren. That’s it. Nothing else. You read the story now. Go on, shoo!

“Jessie, what are we doing here again?”

“Oh, shut it James. How many times do I have to tell you? Haven’t you heard about the Dratini sightings, or are you deaf as well as stupid?”

“But couldn’t we look somewhere else for a Dratini?”

“But this one’s a special Dratini!”

“Shut it yous two! If we look away for a second might loose our chance.”

“As much as I hate to say it, Meowth’s right. Let’s keep looking.”

“Right!”

“Ah! It’s good to sit down and take a break from all that walking!”

“Vul!” she sighed happily. Fox and I had just sat down on the coast, enjoying our lunch. Fox and I had been training, so we were both tired. It was an ideal place for catching Water Pokémon, so I was determined to catch one here. Just then a shape appeared in the water.

“What luck, here’s a Water Pokémon now!” The shape came closer.

It turned out it to be a head. From the looks of it, it seemed to be a Dragonair. It had two ear wingy thingys (what else would you call them?) on the sides of its head. The odd thing was that it didn’t have sapphire on its neck but had the sapphire where it’s horn should be (but the sapphire on its forehead was smaller than the one most have on their necks, naturally).

“Whoa! What a catch! I’ve got to capture this one! Common Fox, let’s do this!” It seemed obvious that Fox had a disadvantage, water vs. fire, 2nd evolution vs. 1st evolution, but Fox wouldn’t let me down. It was good to know your opponent so I opened my Pokédex.

Dratini, the Dragon Pokémon…

“It’s a DRATINI?!? But-but-but, IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE! The ear wingy thingys! The-the… OH I GIVE UP!”

“James, did you hear that?”

“Hear what?”

“Some one was shouting about a Dratini!”

“Finally! We can get out of this bush now!”

“Let’s go!”

I got over my shock and the battle had started.

“Go, Fox! Let’s start with a tackle!” Fox rammed into the Dratini and it was a direct hit, but the battle wasn’t close to over, and the Dratini wasn’t fazed.

“Another tackle!” This time the Dratini was ready and dodged it expertly. It then countered with a tackle of its own. The blow hit and it was a big one.

“Let’s heat things up a bit! Ember!” The attack was strait on hit easily. I’d like to now mention Dratini is NOT a water pokemon, it just lives in water, so ember was reasonably effective. Forget reasonably effective, call it a devastating blow. At least the Dratini was very hurt and easily catchable. I threw the pokeball, and, luckily, it caught it with a ping.

“YES, I caught a Dratini!” I yelled, as I held out my hand in a peace sign.

“That’s our cue!”

“Prepare for trouble!”

“And make it double!”

“To protect the world from devastation!”

“To unite all peoples within our nation!”

“To denounce the evils of truth and love!”

“To extend our reach to the stars above!”

“Jesse!”

“James!”

“Team rocket blast of at the speed of light!”

“Surrender now or prepare to fight!”

“Meowth, that’s right!”

Everyone sweat dropped. “Okay, then… What was that?”

“WE ARE THE FEARED TEAM ROCKET!” yelled the one called Jesse, “Do NOT mock our motto!”

“Team who?”

“I’ll teach you! Arbok, go, poison sting!”

“Fox! Ember!”

“Victoribell, go!” ordered James. The Victoribell then turned around and attacked James. “Must you do this every time?”

These guys are a joke! I thought. “Two against one is cheating!”

“Too bad, we don’t play fair!” cackled Jesse

“Then I’ll just have to even the odds! Go Dratini!” That odd Dratini emerged from its ball. “Dratini, I know you don’t know me very well, and probably don’t like me, but please listen to me!” But first a look at our Pokedex.

“Dratini, the Dragon Pokémon…” Type-Dragon; Gender-Male; Ability-Shed Skin: Shed Skin: Any status effect induced only lasts one turn; Level-8; Attacks- Wrap, Thunder Wave.

“OK. Fox, use ember on Victoribell! Dratini, wrap Arbok.” I ordered.

“Victoribell, razor leaf!” yelled James.

“Arbok, counter his wrap with your wrap!”

Victoribell’s razor leaf burn along with the Pokémon. Over on the other side Arbok and Dratini were in a wraping contest.

“Dratini! Thunder wave!”

“Arbok, poison sting!” But it was to late. Arbok was paralyzed.

“The battle is over. What do you want?” I questioned.

“Isn’t it obvious? We want that Dratini of yous!” said Meowth as he came on the horizon in a giant Dratini robot.

“OK, this just keeps getting weirder…” An arm emerged from the robot and snatched Dratini. “Hey, let go of him. Draitini, thunder wave!”

“Not a chance. Besides, after Pikachu do think an electric attack would work?” cackled Jessie. I decided it was better not to ask about the Pikachu.

“Fox, ember!” Nothing. I needed more fire power.

“Give it up, he’s ours now!” James yelled triumphantly. Suddenly, Dratini’s jewel began to glow.

“What the…?”

That was the Pokedex’s cue. “Hyper Beam. This is Dratini’s strongest attack, learned around level 50.

“But how?!?” The robot exploded.

“Team Rocket’s blasting off again!” they all yelled in unison.

I was confused. “Again? Does this happen often? And how did you do that, Dratini?”

And with many questions left unanswered, Kathy continued to Orchid City.

Authors Note:
I’d like to thank the author: Skyler Vane of Versus City for being the only person to review, so, read her fanfics, or at least look. Please review. I’d also like to thank http://dex.pokemonpalace.net/ for supplying plenty of Pokedex info, even if I don’t always follow it (POWER!). Sorry for the lack of updating, but my computer was being evil. I cannot describe my feelings toward it because this is rated G. I’ve had the idea about the special Dratini for a long time, and I got to use it. Yay for me!

Hope to write more soon,
