Chapter 5: Kaden’s duo dilemma Last Time: The hard way home: “No we couldn’t wait we’ll just have to walk it might take us a long time but it beats just sitting here waiting” Petia’s Feelings: “Are you completely out of mind walking to Mossdeep in the middle of a war is complete suicide even if you managed to get past soldiers you have go threw Chimney Forest over Mt. Chimney across the Maurid dessert and across the sea you’ll never make it it’s better if you just stay here and wait for the salamance to be trained you could stay in the palace just please don’t do something like this” Preparation: “Very well then but 1st you must train to become better trainers I will have the best fighters in the kingdom teach you just pick out a weapon you would like and I’ll find an expert in that area” Beginnings: so we headed into the Forrest and started our adventure. “I’m so thirsty, are we almost there,” I whined as we walked through the unbearably humid forest. It was probably mid-day close to noon but I couldn’t be sure. “Stop whining, we’re almost there ok,” Petia said we were heading to a spring that Petia said was nearby. It had been 3 days since we left town, our water supply was pretty good but we agreed to use the water we had for cooking and cleaning and only drinking during meals because we needed to save our water until we reached to the next village. So we were searching for the spring that Petia said had the best tasting water in the whole forest but it was getting harder and harder to believe her. “You know Kaden the more you complain the thirstier you’ll be so keep your mouth shut it’ll preserve moisture,” Mayu said in an annoyed voice. “Oh shut up Mayu, heh now who’s complaining,” I said in an equally annoyed voice. “AHHHH!” We all heard a scream we rushed to where the noise was coming from we saw a girl with short black hair and green eyes she was about my age she was wearing a dark green long sleeve shirt and brown pants she almost looked like one of the trees she kept screaming I swear I almost went deaf she was being attacked by a pokemon. “Don’t worry I’ll help,” I said and released Swordcrad, diving to help her. “Swordcrad Tackle!” I shouted. Swordcrad went into a rush and tackled the pokemon. It was a Seviper, unusually big like the arbok that attacked us and it had had a huge green scar on its face. Swordcrad was able to get its attention away from the girl while I pounded it with my gauntlets. It was easy the Seviper was a real coward it scurried off into the bushes. “Ha, that was easy. Are you ok?” I asked the girl she looked at me strangely. “What is your name?” I asked she still was looking at me. It was really creepy, her green eyes were all sparkly and big like saucers. “I’m Shasha, thank you so much for saving me from that awful seviper.” She started to squeeze me tightly and rest her head on my chest it was really creepy her face was beat red but I didn’t know why. “Um could you get off me please,” I asked nicely she let go her face still was red. “Oh I’m sorry,” Shasha said “Hi I’m Petia,” Petia said cheerfully. I noticed that Mayu was muttering some stuff I couldn’t understand she looked angry but I didn’t know why. “I’m Mayu very nice to meet you,” Mayu said in a not-so-cheerful voice “Oh by the way I’m Kaden,” I said politely. “What were you doing out here anyways,” Petia asked we all looked at her waiting for an answer. “I was picking flowers here in the forest when I saw the most adorable baby wingull. I just had to capture it so I followed the wingull off the path and I ended up in this meadow where that seviper attacked. I would have called out my gloom but the seviper used glare so I couldn’t move that’s when you found me.” Shasha said “Are you from Weepingbell village Shasha?” Petia asked. “Yeah that’s my village but I’m afraid I’m lost. Can you help me Kaden?” Shasha asked me she grabbed on to my hand squeezing them tightly her eyes were as big as a full moon. I stammered like an idiot. “Ah sure,” I continued stammering. “No, no way! We can’t let anything sidetrack us we need to keep on going,” Mayu said flustered. “He said yes already nah,” she said sticking out her tongue at Mayu “Oh! You little-grrrr!” Mayu said angrily. Then Shasha grabbed me by the arm and dragged me away. I looked back at Mayu she looked like the grim reaper and was beat red she stamped behind us furiously. “No good rotten little girl she probably not even lost she probably is just faking this lost little girl act to get Kaden I’m going to show her hehehe,” I mumbled to myself. I was really and I mean REALLY ticked off. I felt like a charizard about to unleash a flamethrower but I had a plan to get this Shasha girl away from Kaden. He was my friend and no one was going to take him away. Hopefully I would tell Kaden how I felt soon so I wouldn't lose him to someone else. “Oh you little,” I said under my breath. “Come’on Mayu we don’t want you to get lost," I heard Kaden say. Shasha was still dragging me further and further away from Mayu. Why? I didn't know but I didn’t like being so far away, it made me feel bad. I sighed. “God I’m so thirsty I think I’m going to keel over,” I whined “I can help, I taught my gloom how to stiff out water like a water pokemon can. Go! Gloom finds us some water!” Shasha shouted then her gloom came out nose in the air stiffing loudly. “Gloom, Gloom,” the pokemon said happily it was heading towards a pile of rocks. I saw water like a spring. I was so relived I drank and drank until my thirst was quenched. “Ah that was refreshing.” I said smiling when I turned around we were surrounded by Seviper an Arbok. “Oh no! What else could happen?” I said. “Oh no na- na- not more sn- sn- sn- snakes!” Shasha said I could tell she was very frightened I looked around Arboks and Sevipers were everywhere leading the band of snakes was the Seviper with the green scar. “It looks like the seviper brought some of it’s friends to finish us off.” I said, I saw Mayu was grabbing her staff and I was strapping on my gauntlets and Petia was putting on her bangles. We called out our pokemon ready to fight even though we were surrounded. “Ya know Mayu if you want to stand back I’ll protect you ya know,” I said. “No way! I’m no wimp! You should know that by now Kaden,” Mayu said. I knew that but I didn’t want her to get hurt. I couldn’t live with myself if something did. “He loves her,” I said to myself. I could tell by the look in his eyes as he offered to protect Mayu from the snakes but don’t think I’ll give up! Kaden will be mine wheather Mayu likes it or not HE WILL BE MINE! The three of us leapt forward and spread across the snakes trying to spread them out and take fewer of them. “Ponyta Tackle!” I heard Petia say I looked back for a sec and saw that Ponyta was tearing through the snakes like a mouse through weeds. “Swordcrad water gun!” I said. Swordcrad spat a spout of water and forced the snakes back I took out Arboks and sevipers left to right it was easy at first but it got hard as I took out older and bigger snakes. “Ahhh,” I herad Mayu screamed. She was tangled up in a Sevipers tail I ran faster than I ever have before and rammed the snake with all the strengh in my body it let go of Mayu but wrapped me up. “Kaden!” Mayu shouted. I looked the snake right in the eyes it was the same snake that I scared off before except it was a lot stronger it was, almost if the snake was totally different. I knew something was up but I didn’t know what but don’t think that’ll stop me. “Take this!” I shouted clobbering the snake right below the chin. I was able to get myself lose but he still wasn’t beaten. “Swordcrad Aurora Blast!” I said. I only used it in emergencies because it is a more powerful version of Aurabeam it’s so powerful and swordcrad was such a low level that it made him super tired. If you're wondering how he learned the attack I taught it to him using a TM I got from my older brother. It instantly incased the foe in ice. “There’s only one way to deal with this,” I said I took out one of the green pokeballs. Only problem was I didn't know how it worked. “Turn the crank three times and toss the ball,” Petia said so I turned the cork and tossed it. Click…click…click… CLUNK! The ball made a loud noise as the gears turned and locked. “All right I caught a Seviper,” I said. All the other snakes suddenly froze in there place and then ran off scared. “Well that was hard,” I said, huffing and puffing with sweat poring down me like rain. “Oh! You’re so brave,” Shasha said as she hugged me tightly. “Uh,” I said I looked back. Petia was sitting down wiping the sweat off her forehead and Mayu just stood there. “Well that was fun now let’s get going,” Petia said trying to lighten the mood. We started walking no one said much except Shasha she just said stuff about herself talking my ear off. “Shasha Weshia, where in heavens name have you been! I’ve been looking all over for you!” we heard a voice say. “Mom! I’m sorry I went to pick flowers when these 3 saved me from an awful seviper!” We saw a women she looked in her early 30’s she had long black hair down to her waist and a blue dress. “Oh who are you?” she asked us. “Kaden Shret,” I said. “Mayu Enigo,” Mayu said. Petia didn’t introduce herself. She didn’t have to as soon as Shasha mom saw, Petia she bowed and asked what Petia was doing here. Petia kindly explained why she was with us. “Well then why are we standing around here, you kids looked absolutely bushed come on you can stay with Shasha and me as long as you’d like! It’s the least we could do for saving my daughters life.” So we walked up a hill and we saw the most amazing view. There was a small village at the bottom in the valley of the mountain. It was sunset and the entire valley looked like a giant painting with the enormous red sun dipping over the brown volcano. It was just amazing! After a while we walked into the village. “Welcome to Weepingbell Village,” Shasha said and we went into a little cottage where Shasha lived and I and Mayu fell asleep almost immediately.
