Okay here’s part two, I’ve finally finished it! This part is longer than the first, but that’s because the first part was pretty short. Hopefully you like it; it took me along time to figure out what to put in it. Please read and hopefully enjoy it!

~Part 2~
The Mysterious Pikachu

Characters:
Chantal Ketchum: 10
Ash Ketchum: 10
Delia Ketchum: Adult

Chantal walked up to her house feeling very proud of herself. She was now officially a Pokémon Trainer, although she had refused to take a Pokémon. There were only three Pokémon available and four people had shown up on time. She felt bad for Warren and insisted to not take one. Chantal tried not to tell anyone that reason because she had too much pride. Then she thought *maybe Ash would be desperate enough to take that Pokémon*

Sighing, she decided it was time to face Delia and slowly started to open the door. Cautiously peeking inside, then when she saw no one, she strode inside. As soon as Chantal entered the house her mother bombarded her with questions.

“How was it?! How do you like your first Pokémon?! Is it cute?! What does it look like?! Oh please let your mother see it!” Delia chirped excitedly. She grabbed Chantal and held her out at arms length. Chantal grimaced.

“Whoa mom, please stop the ambush,” Chantal held up her hands.

Delia looked sheepish and let go of her daughter, “I’m sorry honey, It’s just you’re finally growing up and I’m so proud you. So where’s that special Pokémon of yours?”

Chantal knew to be direct with her mother and let her know right away why she didn’t have a Pokémon. So, she looked at Delia and cheerily told her why- otherwise her mom would be concerned, wondering if she was okay with it.

“Sorry mom, I don’t have a Pokémon. Just a Pokédex to start my journey… I hope you’re not too disappointed,” Chantal grinned, “I know that I don’t need a Pokémon to start off, so I chose to not get one.”

“Oh pumpkin that’s okay, if it’s what you want, I’m still proud. I love you and I trust your decision,” Delia gave Chantal a big bear hug. “Now go give Kim a call, she already phoned to wish you and your brother a happy birthday!”

“Okay, thanks mom!” Chantal ran off to her room while Delia went to prepare lunch.

**********

Kim and Chantal had been best friends for a very long time. Kim had moved away last year before her 10th birthday and she was a year older than Chantal. That meant Kim had been traveling on her Pokémon journey for almost a year now. Chantal had learned tons of stuff from Kim about Pokémon and being a trainer.

Delia called up to Chantal to let her know lunch would be soon so she should come down. Chantal thanked Kim and they said their goodbyes, then Chantal bounded down the stairs. Looking out the window she saw that Ash was coming home and ran outside to greet him.

“Hey Ashton, are you finally a Pokémon Trainer?!” Chantal teased, “Are you upset you didn’t get the Pokémon you wanted?”

“I can’t believe I slept in and was late!” Ash complained, “But now I am a Pokémon Trainer with my very own Pokémon!” he smiled and held out a Pokéball with a little lightning bolt on it.

Chantal gave him a knowing look, “What?!”

She rolled her eyes, “Of course you’re so desperate that you take the Pikachu.”

“What’s that supposed to mean? Pikachu will make me a Pokémon Master! Where is your Pokémon then? Let’s battle!” he challenged, Ash was obviously offended.

Chantal frowned, “Sorry I can’t, I didn’t take a Pokémon.” Chantal shrugged, it was their birthday and she didn’t want to fight with him. She hugged Ash, kissed him on the cheek and then cried, “Let’s go eat!” The twins ran inside laughing, Ash chasing after Chantal.

**********

“Hey Ash, can I please see your Pikachu? You haven’t let it out of its Pokéball ever since you’ve come home!” The twins had finished their lunch and were outside while Chantal was begging to see his first Pokémon.

Ash took out the red and white ball and frowned at it, “I don’t know… I think it’ll just stay in here until I need it.”

“Ash! You can’t leave your Pokémon alone, you need to become friends with him. It’s not fair for him to be cooped up like that you know!”

Suddenly a branch snapped and a young Pikachu jumped out of the branches. It landed a few feet away from the surprised twins.

“A Pikachu?!” Ash and Chantal yelled together. Before the two could react any further, the electric Pokémon jumped and knocked the Pokéball out of Ash’s hand. Then the mouse dashed beside the ball and shocked it with Thunderbolt.

“Pi – ka – CHU!” explosions of lightning climbed through the air and at the little lightning bolt ball. Upon impact, the Pokéball flew open and out came the slightly bigger Pikachu. It shook itself and gazed at his trainer. Pikachu blinked…

Pika Pi? Cha, Pikachu!” Ash’s Pikachu wondered what was happening and then realized that it had finally gotten out of the Pokéball.

The smaller Pokémon shocked Ash’s Pikachu. Pikachu gave it its attention for a moment so the smaller Pikachu gave the bigger rodent a Pika-hug. Then they started talking to each other in Pokémon language. The smaller one seemed angry and the other was trying to comfort it.

Awww, that’s soooooo cute! I think they’re family!” Chantal announced. The Pikachus looked at the two twins who had their arms on each others shoulders. Then Ash smiled and ran over to his Pikachu.

The smaller electric mouse stepped away from them and looked at Ash and Pikachu. Ash grinned huge and introduced his Pokémon, “Chantal, this is Pikachu! He’s my very first Pokémon and he is gonna’ make me a Pokémon Master. Right partner?”

Pikachu turned up his nose, “Pika”.

“Looks like your Pokémon might be good for you after all. I mean, it’s stubborn so it should teach you to shape up!” Chantal smiled at her words.

Pikachu stole a glance at Ash out of the corner of his eye. “Aw Pikachu! Come on Buddy, why do you have to be difficult?”

PikaCHU!” his yellow Pokémon electrocuted Ash. The little rodent couldn’t help but laugh at Ash’s shouts of shock and pain. Then Chantal walked over to her and she stopped laughing. Chantal bent down so she was face to face with the small furball.

“Hi, I’m Chantal, nice to meet you!” she crooned, “You’re really cute!” Chantal held out her hand for the tense Pokémon to sniff. She smelt her and timidly replied with an uncertain squeak. Then slowly Chantal extended her reach to touch the soft Pokémon, but it recoiled so Chantal stopped.

Suddenly they heard someone running towards them and the person was yelling, “Hey Pikachu! Where did you run off too, come back!” Everyone turned to where the voice was coming from. The little Pikachu ran behind Chantal and wearily watched the figure running towards them.

I put a little cliffhanger just to make it a little more suspenseful! Thanks for reading and I hope you will send me reviews. I’m not planning to start another fanfic until this one is done.
