Unexpected Adventure

“C’mon Pikachu” Ash said talking to his yellow mouse pal.
“Let’s see if Misty will come with us. Bet ya she can’t resist another adventure!”
“Pika pi” (Yes. I'm sure she will come) Pikachu looked up to him.

Ash was standing outside the Cerulean City Gym. He hadn’t seen Misty for a few years since she returned to the Gym to help out her sisters. She left before Ash could say how he truly felt about her. He had missed her so much.

He shook his head, banishing the thoughts of the last day of seeing her, and at the same time shaking some of his black hair out of his eyes.

“Let’s go Pikachu” he said suddenly.
“Chu” (Okay) Pikachu replied.
That’s when he opened the Gym door…

‘Today’s been a tough day’ Misty thought to herself. Many up coming trainers had come to battle her, her sisters had left her to run the Gym be herself as they went out to someplace- they didn’t bother to tell her where.
Misty sighed as she started to shut out the lights.
‘I'm just going to call it a day…’ she thought.
She had dearly missed her old life, when she was younger, following two of her friends on an adventure she would never forget. Until her sisters called her home…

She then heard the Gym door open.
‘Oh boy, what am I going to tell this challenger?’
She turned to see who had entered.
“I'm sorry, I'm not batt-” She stopped mid sentence hardly believing what she was seeing. Her aqua eyes widened in surprise.
“Ash?” she choked.
“Hey Misty. Long time, no see” Ash replied.
Forgetting all her natural instincts and common sense, she ran up to him and embraced him in a hug.
‘What on earth am I doing?!’ her mind screamed. Misty realised what she had just done and pulled back immediately. She felt the blood rushing to her face. Yep, she was blushing in front of one of her best friends.
She was surprised to see that Ash was blushing too.
She looked up and down at him, admiring his form. He hadn’t changed much. He was taller, much taller than her. He was wearing dark jeans, a dark green t-shirt, and still wearing his biker gloves. She looked to his face. He still had his black hair in the same messy hairstyle which was jammed under a dark blue cap.
He was wearing a bemused expression.
“You okay there Mist?” Ash asked.
Misty blushed even more. She couldn’t believe that the one guy she cared about so much was suddenly back in her life. Buy why? “Er yeah, I'm okay. Just surprised to see you” she said. ‘Not to mention happy too’ she thought.

‘Still, she must be pretty happy that I'm here’ he thought. He took a long hard look at her as she was still blushing madly. Her dress sense had changed slightly, cargo ľ replaced her short shorts, a light blue shirt hugged her body. Misty had managed ti tame her hair a bit, she had grown it out to shoulder length worn down. “So what brings you here Ash?” Misty asked, her senses coming back to her. Ask smiled and looked down to his beloved Pikachu. “Well, we were in the area because we heard about a massive cave that hasn’t been explored yet that’s here in Cerulean. We thought that we would be one of the first to explore it. We’re going to see if we can catch any rare Pokemon” he replied, his dark eyes sparkling. “That’s great Ash. So are you just calling by? We haven’t seen each other in a while…” Misty said. ‘Man, if only you knew what I have planned Mist.’ Ash thought to himself. “Well, I was hoping that you would come with me…” he said slowly. ‘Please say yes.’ Ash hoped, he noticed that Misty started to go red again. ‘Huh? What's up with her? She hasn’t changed that much has she? Its only been a few years…’ Ash thought. “Yes, I’d love to go. I’ll need to close down the Gym though. My sisters have left to go someplace” She rolled her eyes. “Really? That’s great!” Ash replied. “That you want to come” he added hastily as Misty raised an eyebrow at him. ‘Maybe I’ll be able to tell her how I really feel about her on the trip..’ He thought in hope.

‘This couldn’t be any better! A trip. With just me and Ash. I hope…’ Misty thought. Common sense came back to her. “How long are we going for?” Misty asked. “Hmm… Two days, maybe three. Depends how big the cave is.” Ash replied. “Who else is coming?” Misty asked, holding her breath in hope. Ash smiled at her. “It’s just me and you. Brock found himself a girlfriend in Johto and stayed with her.” Ash replied. “Pika!” Pikachu exclaimed. “Oh and you too Pikachu, you’re coming of course” laughed Ash. “When do we leave?” Misty asked. Ash suddenly looked uncomfortable, he took his hat off and ruffled his hair up. “Err… Well it’s too late to leave now” he started. Misty nodded; it was five in the afternoon. “So I was thinking about tomorrow morning.” He finished as he put his hat back on. ‘Why is he so uncomfortable?’ Misty thought. “Yeah, that sounds great Ash” Misty replied. “Mist?” Ash said. “Yeah Ash?” “Do you- Do you reckon I could crash at your place tonight?” Ash said nervously. Misty smiled at him. “Sure Ash” ‘Now we can really catch up. Should I tell him how I feel?’ Misty started to think/ That’s when Misty notice Ash’s blush. ‘How cute’ she thought.
