The Undiscovered Love (AAMRN)

*Part Two*

By: DualDier

Note: This is my very first AAMRN. So, if possible, give me some feedback on what you think!

I've decided not to show the characters of each part for the rest of the novel. Only for the first part, so you have an idea who the main characters are. But if you don't already know, you should know Ash and Misty are of course the 2 characters that will be in it. So you'll just have to read to find out who's precisely in the story! Have fun!

Previously: Ash and Brock had just returned back to Pallet town after Ash conquered the Battle Frontier. Ash was now more determined than ever to become the world's greatest Pokémon Master. Ash and friends were about to enjoy his wonderful victory dinner, when Professor Oak had arrived! Brock, Misty, Pikachu, Professor Oak, and his mom were all dining with Ash on his wonderful victory feast! Professor Oak told Ash and Brock all about the wonders of new Pokémon in the Sinnoh region, and that Ash could compete there in the Sinnoh league! As Ash was excited about competing again, he announced his decision to go to the Sinnoh region! Although Ash was quite sure about his decision, others were not too fond of Ash leaving so soon. Will Ash go to the Sinnoh region? And if he does, how will this effect the outcome of his friends and family? Let's find out!

Now, it was fading into the night, shortly after Ash's victory feast. Ash had his black shirt on, and his white striped blue boxers on as well. He was laying in his old bed, with Brock laying on the floor next to him in his sleeping bag. Brock was still wearing his original clothing. He hadn't changed his clothes at all. He was wearing his green vest, with his orange shirt right under it. But, instead of wearing pants, Brock had been wearing special edition Nurse Joy boxers. Ash was now laying in bed, wide awake.. His arms were crossed behind his head, and Pikachu was resting in his lap. Ash was staring contently up at the ceiling, thinking.

'I wonder why Misty was so upset? I've never seen her run off like that before.' - Ash thought to himself.

Ash turned his head, looking down at Brock. Brock was resting on his side, his head turned away from Ash.

"Hey, Brock? You awake?" Ash asked, quietly.

"Yeah..I'm awake, Ash." Brock said, still turned away from Ash.

"Why do you think Misty just...ran off like that? I've never seen her do that before." Ash said.

"Maybe she had to go do something, or maybe she had something else on her mind." Brock answered.

Ash sat up, and turned his head to Brock. Pikachu rose his head up at Ash, with a questioning look on his face.

"What could possibly be on her mind that would make her do that, Brock?" Ash asked, hoping for a serious answer.

Brock sat up, and turned to Ash. Brock then began to think, and while doing that, he began rubbing his chin.

"Hmm...I dunno, Ash. Maybe she was...upset." Brock replied.

"Upset..?!" Ash answered, still dumbfounded.

"Mmm.." Brock muttered, nodding to Ash.

"What would she possibly be upset about?" Ash asked, still hoping Brock would give him an assuring answer.

"Well..knowing Misty, it could be anything. But..maybe, just maybe..she was upset about us leaving to go to the Sinnoh region." Brock answered, still rubbing his chin.

"Hmm..." Ash grumbled, looking down at Brock. Ash opened his mouth to speak, but before he could say anything, Brock interrupted him.

"You see, Ash, being a Pokémon Breeder, I can tell what goes on between Pokémon and their relationships with other Pokémon. But, though I'm no expert on humans, I have a feeling Misty doesn't want you to leave, Ash." Brock said.

"Huh..?" Ash said, still puzzled at what Brock had said.

"Since you guys are best friends, I'm sure she just misses you is all." Brock said.

Brock had stopped rubbing his chin. He was now just staring at Ash, as Ash was just sitting there, still pondering at what Brock had just said. Ash blinked a few times, about to speak again, until Brock interrupted him once more.

"Unless..." Brock muttered.

"Unless what, Brock?!" Ash yelped.

"Unless there's something more." Brock explained.

"Something more....?" Ash said to himself.

Ash and Brock just sat there, looking at each other. A few minutes later, Brock yawned and began to stretch out his arms.

"Anyway..it's getting late, Ash. We should probably head to sleep." Brock said, as he began to slip back into his sleeping bag.

Ash just sat there. He was still wondering what Brock meant by 'something more'. Brock on the other hand, was already nestled into his sleeping bag, with his body resting on its side, once again turned away from Ash.

"Goodnight." Brock said.

Ash was still lost in his own thoughts. He was thinking really hard about what Brock meant.

'Something...more?' - Ash thought to himself.

Ash's thoughts were interrupted when Brock began to look behind himself, waiting for Ash to respond.

"Ash..?" Brock whispered.

Ash blinked a few times. He looked down at Pikachu as he saw him fast asleep. As Pikachu's body was curled up into a ball, along with his tail, Ash simply smiled, and patted Pikachu on the top of his head.

"Goodnight, Brock." Ash said, with a bright smile.

Ash began to snuggle back into his warm bed. Soon, he was unable to keep his eyes open. He then swiftly fell fast asleep, awaiting what could become of tomorrow.

The very next day, Ash slowly woke up. The sun was gleaming right from his window, and into his eyes. He could hear noises of what sounded like a faucet running, with the additional sounds of dishes colliding together. Ash woke up, and looked down in his lap. He noticed Pikachu wasn't in his lap. After this realization, he then looked down below him, where Brock was originally sleeping. Brock was not there, and neither was his sleeping bag. Ash then yawned, and stretched his arms.

"Guess everyone is awake." Ash said to himself.

Ash had gotten up, brushed his teeth, and changed from his pajamas and into his normal clothes. Ash was wearing a blue hoodie with a half white Poké-Ball watermark placed ontop where the interior pockets to his hoodie resided. At the very top of the hoodie, there was a golden button. The hood of his outfit was white, scrunching up around his neck. Along with this hoodie, Ash was wearing bright blue jeans as well as dark blue and black sneakers. Ash was now standing, lost in thought. He was deciding which hat to wear. Ash stood there, as he thought for a moment. He had the choice between two hats. His original hat, which he sent in many requests to get, the hat with the sideways green "V" watermark. The other hat was red, with a black portion on the front. Within the black portion was a green half Poké-Ball. These hats were both sitting upon Ash's dresser. Ash was staring at them contently. Thinking very hard on which one to choose. This was the hat that Ash wore throughout all of his quests within the Hoenn region. On the other hand, Ash's old hat was the hat he wore when he originally explored Kanto, Johto, and the Orange Islands. This hat had all of his original memories with Pikachu, Brock, Misty, and Tracey. More importantly, he met Misty when he was wearing this hat. To Ash, that was a something very significant. The spark of an everlasting friendship.

Ash picked up his very first hat, and shifted it tightly on his head. He gained a small grin, then left his room. He stumbled upon the kitchen where he saw Brock with his mother's apron on. Brock was scrubbing dishes. He then looked down and saw Pikachu sitting next to Brock. Pikachu was enjoying Brock's homemade Pokémon food. Brock soon noticed Ash walking into the kitchen. He turned to Ash and smiled, then said:

"Morning, Ash. You sleep well?" Brock said, still smiling.

"Yeah, I slept fine." Ash said, with a blank look.

Ash kneeled down and began to pet Pikachu. Pikachu glimpsed up at Ash, smiling.

"You sleep well, buddy?" Ash asked, grinning.

"Pi-Pikachu!" (Yes, of course!) Pikachu cried.

Ash stood up, then looked back up at Brock. As Ash was about to speak, Brock interrupted him.

"Guess you've decided to go with your old hat today, huh?" Brock said.

"Yeah. Hey, have you seen mom anywhere?" Ash asked, ignoring Brock's comment.

Brock set down the dishes he was scrubbing, washed his hands, then shut off the faucet. He dried his hands with a small yellow rag laying on the counter to the left of him. After that, he set down the rag, took off the apron, and hung it on a rack on the wall to the right of him. He then turned to Ash, and spoke again, answering Ash's question.

"Your mom went with Mr. Mime to go grocery shopping." He said.

"Oh. Well, what do you want to do today, Brock?" Ash asked.

"Actually, I was thinking I could go home and take care of some stuff, seeing as I haven't visited home for awhile." Brock said, scratching his head.

"Cool. Sounds good. How 'bout I come with ya?" Ash asked, hopingly.

Brock stopped scratching his head, giving Ash a serious, but questioning look.

"Wait a minute, Ash. Isn't there something you need to go do?" Brock asked, with an eyebrow raised.

"Uh..like what?" Ash asked, puzzled.

"Chuu?" Pikachu cried.

"Shouldn't you go visit Misty at the Cerulean City gym?" Brock asked.

"Uhm..what for, Brock?" Ash asked, scratching his head.

"To go see what was wrong with her last night. I know you are curious, and..frankly..I'm kinda worried about her." Brock said.

"Pika-Pika.." (Me too!) Pikachu cried.

Ash stopped scratching his head. He looked down a Pikachu with a serious look. Then he glared back up at Brock.

"Mmm..I guess you're right, Brock." Ash said.

Brock began to relax. He then grinned at Ash.

"Sounds good, Ash. We can meet back here after you've visited her....and after I've finished visiting my family." Brock said.

"Mm.." Ash grunted.

"So..I'll see you then?" Brock asked, beginning to turn away from Ash.

"Yeah, sure thing!" Ash replied, grinning.

Brock walked out of the kitchen, and left shutting the front door quietly. Ash just stood there, staring down at Pikachu.

"Pikachu, I'll be right back, okay?" Ash said, smiling.

"Chu?" Pikachu cried.

Ash then walked back into his room. He walked over to his backpack, which was laying right beside his bed. He kneeled down and began shuffling through it.

"Ahh, here it is!" Ash said, with a huge grin on his face.

Ash lifted up his arm, holding up something very shiny. Something that put a sparkle in his eyes. It was Misty's lure. It was glittering with brightness. Ash took a moment to stare at it. Pikachu ran in from behind Ash, hopping onto his shoulder.

"Remember this, Pikachu?" Ash asked, turning to Pikachu on his shoulder.

"Pika!!" (Yes!) Pikachu cried.

"Professor Oak gave this to me right before my final battle with Brandon at the Battle Frontier, remember? I was feeling really down that day. Boy, this sure did help me out a lot!" Ash said, with pride in his eyes.

Both Pikachu and Ash took a moment to stare at it as Ash was still kneeled on the floor.

"Okay, Pikachu. You ready to go see Misty?" Ash asked, as he stood up.

"Pi-Pikachu!" (You know it!) Pikachu cried.

"Okay, then let's go!!" Ash yelled.

Ash put the lure in the left pocket of his jeans. He then left the house with Pikachu on his right shoulder. Our heroes were headed off to Cerulean City, to visit their best friend, Misty.

And that's the end of Part two! I'm still writing! I'm hoping I'm doing okay for my first AAMRN. I'm confident that this will be good. I know dialogue is pretty plain right now, but don't worry. It will get good. I'm just building it up for ya!
