*Part Three*

Previously: Ash and Brock had just returned back to Pallet town after Ash conquered the Battle Frontier. Ash was now more determined than ever to become the world's greatest Pokémon Master. After Ash's victory feast, Ash and Brock discussed Misty's behavior, and what could have caused her to act out and run away. Ash and Brock decided to split up, where Brock had family matters to attend to, and Ash had to go to the Cerulean City gym, to visit his best friend. Did Misty have gym leader duties to attend to? Did she really miss Ash? Was there really something more to Ash and Misty's friendship? Who knows? Let's find out!
Now, Ash and Pikachu were traveling down the road, getting closer and closer to the Cerulean City gym. Pikachu was resting on Ash's right shoulder. They were smiling, and excited to visit Misty. Soon, they began to approach a road sign. The sign read: Cerulean City - 5 miles.
"Five miles?! I'm already tired of walking, Pikachu." Ash whined.
"Piii-ka." Pikachu cried, sighing.
"Don't worry, buddy. We'll make it. We've walked way farther than this before." Ash said, proudly.
As Ash was walking proudly down the road, he began to be unaware of where he was stepping. He was humming a sweet melody. As he was doing this, Pikachu noticed something in front of them.
"Pika-pi!" Pikachu cried.
"Don't bother me, Pikachu! I'm in a good mood!" Ash grumbled.
"WHAA--!!" Ash yelped, as he fell on his face.
Pikachu had already jumped off of Ash's shoulder at this point. He then ran to Ash's side, with a bit of concern on his face.
"Pi..ka..chu?" Pikachu cried.
"I'm okay, Pikachu. But what did I trip on?" Ash whined, rubbing his head.
Ash and Pikachu turned to look at what they had tripped on. Once Ash saw what he had tripped on, he smiled.
"Oh, wow! It's a Caterpie! I haven't seen one like this since I was traveling with Misty in the Veridian Forest!" Ash said, excitingly.
Ash then pulled out his Pokédex from the right interior pocket of his hoodie.
"Caterpie, the Worm Pokémon. Caterpie uses the suction cups on its feet to climb trees and feed on its favorite leaves." said Ash's Pokédex.
"Murawr, murawr!" The wild Caterpie cried.
"Aww, it's so cute!" Ash said, with a huge smile.
"Pika-piii!" Pikachu cried, sweat dropping and pointing to the sky.
"Huh? What is it, Pikachu?" Ash said, looking around cluelessly.
Up above them was a huge flock of Butterfree. They were furiously flapping their wings, giving Ash and Pikachu a very ferocious look.
"AAAAHH!! It's Butterfree! And they don't look too happy, do they?" Ash screamed.
The Butterfree began to attack. A few of them swooped down, swiftly dropping a huge drift of Stun Spore.
"Pikachu, we better get outta here!" Ash yelped, as he grabbed Pikachu and began to run away.
As Ash was running as fast as he could with Pikachu grasped in his arms, he was looking for some bushes to hide in.
"I thought Butterfree were supposed to be the happy bug Pokémon!" Ash screamed.
Ash was running extremely fast, trying to prevent the Stun Spore from reaching Pikachu. As he was running, he tripped over a rock, and fell.
"Agh....just hold on...Pika...chu.." Ash said, panting.
Ash and Pikachu were pinned to the ground. The Butterfree were giving off their Stun Spore stronger than ever. As it was just about to hit them, a strange blur came out of no where and picked them both up. Ash had his eyes closed, right before the Stun Spore was about to impact them. He opened his eyes and looked around him, with Pikachu still in his arms.
"Huh..? Pikachu, look! We're in the sky!" Ash yelled, excitingly.
Ash then realized what he was on. It was a Pidgeot!
"Hey, Pikachu! Check it out! It's a Pidgeot!" Ash said, relieved.
"Chu, chu?" Pikachu cried.
"Wait a minute, could it be?" Ash said to himself.
"It is! Pidgeot! It's you! It's really you!" Ash screamed, happily.
"PIDDGEEOOOO!!" Pidgeot cried.
"Wow, you're a lot bigger since I last saw you, Pidgeot. I bet you're really strong, huh?" Ash said.
Pidgeot nodded to Ash. They were flying sky high, now. The Butterfree were long gone, and away from Ash and Pikachu.
"How did you know to come save us, Pidgeot?" Ash asked, curiously.
"Pidgeoo, pidgeo, pidgeo." Pidgeot responded.
"You mean you sensed that me and Pikachu were in danger?" Ash said, trying to guess what Pidgeot meant.
Pidgeot nodded, swooping across the trees.
"Well, thank you for saving us, Pidgeot. But, we kinda need to get somewhere. Think you can help us out?" Ash asked.
"Pidgeooo-ta!" Pidgeot cried, nodding to Ash.
"We need to get to Cerulean City. You up for it?" Ash asked, challenging Pidgeot.
"PIDGEOOO!!" Pidgeot cried.
Now, Pidgeot, Ash, and Pikachu were all together, drifting through the sky. At this rate, they would be at Cerulean City in no time! As time went by, Ash spent some moments to tell Pidgeot all about his adventures. His journies through the Hoenn region, his meeting of new friends, May and Max, and his victory in the Battle Frontier.
"You know, I have another bird Pokémon I think you'd like to meet. I caught it in the Hoenn region. It's a Swellow, and it reminds me of you all the time, Pidgeot." Ash said, smiling gracefully.
"Pidgeo.." Pidgeot said, nodding to Ash.
"Hey Pikachu, I can see Cerulean City from here!" Ash said, pointing it out.
"Pi-Pikachu!" Pikachu cried.
Ash and Pikachu were finally arriving at Cerulean City! They were soon about to see their friend, Misty! It took them awhile, but they finally made it. Pidgeot began to decrease its speed as it forced its wings against the wind, digressing to land.
Pidgeot safetly landed, and Ash and Pikachu jumped off of Pidgeot, with Pikachu ontop of Ash's head.
"Thanks a lot for saving us, once again, Pidgeot. And thank you for the ride! I don't know what we would've done without ya." Ash said, while stroking Pidgeot's wings.
"Well, I guess we'll be seein' ya, Pidgeot!" Ash said, as he was walking and waving goodbye.
Pidgeot stood there, staring at Ash for a brief moment. It tilted its head sideways in confusion. It stood there for a few moments, then began following Ash.
"Pidgeot, what are you doing? You know I set you free a long time ago." Ash responded, questioning Pidgeot's movements.
"Pidgeoo, pidgeoo." Pidgeot cried.
"You mean you wanna hang with us for awhile?" Ash asked, turning to Pidgeot.
Pidgeot nodded, while Ash pulled out an empty Poké-Ball.
"Well, I do have a free Poké-Ball. I guess you could hang around with us while we're visiting, just like old times, huh?" Ash replied, smiling.
"PIDGEOOO!" Pidgeot cried, happily.
"Okay Pidgeot, return!!" Ash called.
A red light came gleaming out of Ash's Poké-Ball, as it went streaming right onto Pidgeot. Pidgeot was then absorbed into the light, and became drained into the Poké-Ball.
As the Poké-Ball shut, Ash looked down on it, tightly in his hands. He then smiled, and turned to Pikachu.
"Well buddy, I guess we have an old friend on our team...for now." Ash said, happily.
Our heroes then turned, and started walking into what was known as Cerulean City, famous for its Sensational Sisters! What will come of Ash and his temporary reunion with Pidgeot? Will Ash find Misty, and get a chance to talk to her? Let's find out on the next part of Pokémon: The Undiscovered Love!
