BEGINNERS CAMP – PART 2 ** means Dex is talking It was a bright and warm morning and the Flame boys were still asleep. Spitefire licked John and Growlithe licked Austin. At first they would not move. Soon, after about 5 more minutes of licking, the boys were laughing their heads off, trying to get the dogs to stop. “Spitefire!!! Knock it off!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!” John laughed loudly. “You, too, Growlithe!!! Stop!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” Austin said as he fell off the bed. “What’s wrong? Are you two alright?” the Water Flowers asked, since they were right by us, they heard everything (they’re the water cabin). “Yeah…pant pant pant…we’re ok…” John said as the dogs finally stopped. “Don’t do that again! You scared us half to death!” the blue haired girl said as she stormed out. “Bye boys,” the blond one said as she smiled and followed the other girl. During Breakfast – “We seriously need to train today. If we don’t train we could fail,” Austin said as he chewed his bacon. “I agree, but I don’t think we could fail. We just need to teach them not to be such softies,” John remarked biting a pancake slice. “You got a point there…you know what? I think the blond Water Flower likes you, John,” Austin teased as he took another bite of bacon. “You think?” John joked as he glanced at the blond. The girl was also looking and blushed as she turned away. John changed the subject and soon the Air Squad came over to the Flame Boys’ table. “You two. We challenge you to a battle, two-on-two each,” the orange haired boy said as he laid his hand on one of his Pokéballs. “Alright! This will be the first battle of the day. Everyone meet at the arena to see the fight,” Brice said as he heard the challenge that was made. At the arena, everyone sat in the stands to see the fight. They sat ready and determined that their friends would win. “Flame Boys vs. Air Squad! Ready? FIGHT!!” the referee shouted as he let his arm fall. “Go Spearow!” the orange haired kid shouted as he threw his Pokéball out into the arena. “I got this one, Austin. Go Spinark!” John called as his Pokémon formed. “Spearow! Peck that insect!” the orange boy commanded. Spearow lunged toward the insect when Spinarak jumped out of the way causing the bird to hit the ground head on. Spinarak obeyed his orders and String Shot the bird to the ground. The bird tried to get out of the web, but could not. The boy returned his bird and his partner got ready for her turn. “I choose Jigglypuff!” the red headed girl said as her balloon like Pokémon jumped into the arena from the girl’s shoulders. “Got this! Go Growlithe!” Austin called to his dog as it leapt into the battle field. “Jigglypuff! Pound that flea bag!!!” “Growlithe, Fire Tackle!” Jigglypuff and Growlithe slammed head-on, right into each other. Jigglypuff hit Growlithe in the jaw and Growlithe slammed Jigglypuff into the ground with a flaming tackle. The dog whimpered as his jaw was aching and Jigglypuff ran all over the arena, burning. The pink blob finally fell over defeated. The girl returned her Pokémon while the boy called out his next one. “Go Pidgeotto!” “This is mine! I choose Lightning!” John called as his pony stood in the field, ready. “Pidgeotto! Mud Slap!” “Lightning! Dodge and Rolling Thunder!” Pidgeotto dove and missed as the pony got out of the way. Lightning glowed and she stared strait at the bird. Thunder could be heard all over and the bird was terrified. Lightning got her chance, shocked the bird, and won. The boy returned his Pidgeotto. “Go Hoothoot!” the girl called as the Pokémon was called out for the final battle. “Go Artico!” called Austin. “Hoothoot! Wing Attack!” “Artico! Permafrost!” The pony glowed as the owl hopped to it. The Hoothoot attacked only once for his wings were soon frozen. “Now Artico! Send the bird back to its master!” Artico turned and kicked with his hind legs. Hoothoot then landed in the girl’s arms. The battle was over. “Up next we have Water Flowers vs. the Rockin’ - Rollers,” the ref called as the teams got on there sides. John and Austin went to their cabin and healed their Pokémon. They trained them until they were called back to the field, thirty minutes later. The Flame Boys were against the Flower Power cabin. A green haired girl was first. “I choose Sunflora!” “I’ll go. Then, I choose Growlithe!” Austin said. “Sunflora! Stun Spore!” “Growlithe! Fire dome!” The powder started to fall, when Growlithe cocked his head and let out a dome of fire to protect him. The powder burned on the dome till it was all gone. “Growlithe! Fire Tackle!” “Sunflora! Dodge! Hurry!” Growlithe became a blur and before the flower could move, it was hit with the flaming tackle. Sunflora fell defeated. The girl returned her Pokémon, while her friend called out her Pokémon. “I choose…Mareep,” the Purple haired girl said, uneasily. “Go Lavitar!” John called. “Mareep! Tackle!” “Dig, Lavitar!” Lavitar dug underground as soon as the sheep hit him. The lamb was confused, but was soon informed that he was under her for she was soon air born. The lamb fell and struggled to get up. “Lavitar! Tackle!” The Ground Pokémon charged and rammed into the Pokémon and won. The match ended and the boys healed their Pokémon and went off the look for Pokémon and to train. The boys soon came upon two, wounded Pikachu. John noticed a Raticate was about ready to kill them. “Spitefire! Fire Claws!” Spitefire ran and his front paws started to burn. He clawed the Raticate and the rat Pokémon ran away. John then went over to Austin who was checking the wounded Pokémon. One of the Pikachu stood up and walked slowly to Austin. It stopped and gazed into the boy’s eyes. The Pikachu then jumped and landed in Austin’s arms. Austin gave it a Potion, while John picked up the other one. John healed the other and the Pikachu jumped on his shoulders. The boys caught the Pikachu and released them. Austin’s Pikachu had green eyes and John’s had blue. Austin took out a wristband and put it on Pikachu’s head and named him Bolt. John took out a small vest and put it on Pikachu and named him Quest. The Pikachu stayed out of their Pokéballs and rode on their master’s shoulders. When the boys got back to the field, the Water Flowers won their match against the Thunder Boys. The Water Flowers got on the other side and the Flame Boys were against them for the final battle. “Four-on-four. Ready? Fight!” “Go Poliwag!” the blue haired girl cried. “Mine! Go Bolt!” Austin called as the Pikachu jumped into the battlefield. “Poliwag! Watergun!” “Bolt! Thundershock!” Bolt charged up as the water came closer. Bolt then jumped before the water touched him and let go off his attack. Poliwag fell. The girl snarled as she called back Poliwag. “Go Squirtle!” the blond called as her turtle Pokémon was called out. “Go Quest!” John called out. “Squirtle! Body Slam!” “Quest! Shock Squirtle before he gets to you!” Quest did as he was told and Squirtle got hit before he got the Pikachu. Squirtle still ran and rammed into Quest. Quest cried out and shocked Squirtle, causing it to faint. The blond sighed as Squirtle was called back and Quest hobbled to John. “Go Pinch!” the blue girl said as she called out her Krabby. “Go Artico!” Austin called. “Pinch! Irongrip!” “Artico! Kick it!” Artico kicked the crab, but, unfortunatly, the crab gripped Artico’s leg. The pony cried out in pain as blood ran from the leg. “Artico! Stomp it with your other leg!” “Pinch, let go!” It was too late. The pony stomped to crab into the earth and tried to walk to Austin. They both returned their Pokémon and gave each other dirty looks. “Go Seel!” the blond shouted. “Go Lightning!” John said. “Seel! Aurora Beam!” “Lightning! Lightning Wind!” Seel blasted Lightning, but she did not move. She glowed and the wind started to howl. Lightning reared and shocked the wind. The shocked wind hit Seel and he fainted. “THE CHAMPIANS!!! THE FLAME BOYS!!!” the ref shouted as the Pokémon were returned. Steve and Brice walked over to the boys and gave them each a box. The boys opened the boxes and they both received Fire Stones. They immediately used them on Growlithe and Spitefire. They both glowed and grew in size. Growlithe’s little patch of fur on his head grew to a mane and his tail became larger. Growlithe became Arcanine. Meanwhile, Spitefire’s head soon showed horns and his body became as big as Arcanine’s. Spitefire evolved into a Houndoom. The boys healed their Pokémon and climbed on their dog’s backs and they had a joy ride before dinner. After they ate they trained and then went to bed.
