A True Battle

The group just got in the control room in the basement of Team Rocket headquarters. Jen sits down at one of a few chairs and looks around at all of the computers.

“ Uh Jen, do you know what you’re doing?” Misty asks. “ We might get caught.”

“ I know the Team Rocket password. We won’t get caught.” Jen says. She starts typing at one of the computers for a few minutes. Ash and Misty sit down in the other chairs in the room and they end up sitting there for quite a while before Jen said anything.

“ I found it!” Jen yells after about 20 minutes of searching around.

“ Well, what does it say?” Kasie asks.

“ It says Rachelle went missing about two months ago. They didn’t know where she was until they heard on TV that she was in the Johto league, and you already know it’s illegal for Team Rocket members to do that. So they sent her old partner out to kill her. They have a whole bunch of plans on how they were going to kill her.” Jen says.

“ Wow that’s horrible!” Ash says.

“ Couldn’t they have just kicked her out of Team Rocket?” Misty asks.

“ They could have, but that’s not what Team Rocket does. The only way for you to get kicked out is if you fail a certain amount of jobs Giovanni assigns.”

“ Giovanni?” They all ask.

“ Oh whoops, I wasn’t supposed to say anything. Oh well, screw Team Rocket anyhow. Giovanni is the leader.” Jen says.

“ Well this was easy enough.” Kasie says.

“ Not quite. It says that she was caught with non Team Rocket members, so they are out to kill you guys as well.” Jen says.

“ You’ve gotta be kidding right?” Ash asks.

“ Nope. But you guys should be careful. They can be capable of doing anything when you least expect it.” Jen says.

“ Do you think they might have killed Brock?” Misty asks.

“ Who knows? I believe you’d most likely heard something by now. But what I want to know is how her partner Bobby got killed.” Jen says.

“ She could have just fought back.” Kasie suggests.

“ Don’t you follow news at all? They said Rachelle was shot first. They plotted it out. Someone else killed Bobby.” Jen says.

“ Why do we care about Bobby? For crying out loud, he’s some stupid Team Rocket guy.” Ash says.

“ I guess, why should I care anyways?" Jen says. “ Anyways, right now I’m going to try to clear the information about Rachelle traveling with non Team Rocket members.” Jen starts typing, but all of a sudden, a siren goes off.

“ Ok, now what?” Kasie asks freaking out.

“ Crap! They must know someone is messing around in the control room! We gotta run!” Jen says. They all get up and start running down a hallway.

“ How are we going to get out without being killed?” Misty cries while running.

“ I think I may know how. Just follow me. I know the way.” Jen says. A whole bunch of Team Rocket members pop out from another hallway and spot the five.

“ Oh crap!” Ash says. They turn around and start running the other way.

“ Stop right there!” A Team Rocket member says.

“ Don’t stop, and don’t look back!” Jen yells. Then they hear Kasie yell.

“ You guys! Stop! I tripped!” Kasie yells.

“ We can’t!” Jen yells.

“ We have to!” Misty yells.

“ HELP!” Kasie yells. “ They got me!” She yells. Ash stops and turns around. He gets a pokeball and calls out Totodile.

“ Totodile! Go!” Ash yells throwing the pokeball. A blue pokemon pops out of the pokeball.

“ Toto totodile!” Totodile says.

“ Totodile! Bite that Team Rocket’s arm!” Ash yells. Totodile runs and bites the arm of the guy trying to strangle Kasie. Kasie is freed and runs back to the other four.

“ Thank you!” Kasie says to Ash. They continue running until they spot light.

“ Hey I think that’s the exit!” Jen yells. As they near closer, they realize it is. Then, the door starts to close. They pick up their pace, and jump through before the door closes. The Team Rocket members were still trapped inside. The group ran into the nearby forest and collapsed on the ground.

“ Never… run that much… in my life…” Misty says panting.

“ I know…” Kasie says. They catch their breath.

“ So next we find Brock, right?” Ash asks.

“ Yeah, sounds right.” Misty says.

“ I’m actually beginning to wonder if they did kill Brock.” Jen says.

“ Really? Why?” Kasie asks.

“ Because it didn’t say ANYTHING about Bobby actually being killed.” Jen says.

“ Anyways, I suggest we get out of here before Team Rocket comes to find us. You know anywhere to stay?”

            “ Yeah, I live here.” Ash says. They walk to his house, only to find the door already open.

            “ Ash, doesn’t your mom always keep the door shut?” Misty asks.

            “ Yeah, she does.” Ash says. They walked in the door. “ Mom!”

            “ This is really weird, usually she is waiting by the door for us.” Misty says. They wander around the house for a while.

            “ Um, you guys, I suggest you come to the kitchen.” Kasie yells. Everyone runs to the kitchen. Ash’s mom was lying on the ground, with a pool of blood around her. Ash runs up to her and grabs her wrist.

            “ She’s still alive.” Ash says.

            “ Ash…” His mom whispers.

            “ Mom, what happened?” Ash asks.

            “ Team Rocket, they broke in looking for you. I said you weren’t here and they shot me.” His mother says.

            “ When were they here?” Ash asks.

            “ Just a moment ago. They are looking for you.” She says. “ Be careful.”

            “ Mom, are you going to be alright?” Ash asks.

            “ Yes. I’ll be peaceful soon enough.” She says.

            “ You’re not dying, are you?” Ash asks.

            “ Yes Ash, I am.”

            “ Mom! No! I can get you to a hospital!” Ash says.

            “ No Ash, I’m ok. It’s just my time to go.”

            “ But Mom…?”

            “ Ash just remember that I’ll… always love you…” His mother squeaks out, then her eyes close. There was a long moment of silence.

            “ Ash, I’m sorry.” Misty says. Ash stands up.

            “ Come on, we should go.” Ash says. He picks his mother’s body up and goes outside. Silently he buries her, and puts her in the ground. After he puts the ground over his mother’s body, he picks a few flowers in her garden. He puts them on her gravesite. Then Ash looks at their house once more, and they leave. For the next day, they were silent. Only Jen and Misty were talking, trying to figure out a plan.

            “ I mean what are we gonna do? Team Rocket is just too crafty!” Misty yells.

            “ We could just blow em’ up.” Jen suggests. Misty rolls her eyes.

            “ We want to be heroes. Not murderers!” Misty says.

            “ Well, I have one more possibly useful idea.” Jen says.

            “ Well, what?” Misty asks.

            “ Ok, listen to this…” Jen says, starting to whisper in Misty’s ear.

            The next day…

            “ Ok Misty, you’re sure this plan is gonna work?” Kasie asks.

            “ I’m positive!” Misty says.

            “ I swear, if it doesn’t, I will never be happy again.” Jen says. They all start walking into a forest that leads to the Team Rocket HQ. They get to where they see the HQ, and Jen groans.

            “ What?” Misty asks.

            “ I think they changed the traps.” Jen says.

            “ That isn’t good…” Ash says. They all sit down to think once again. They come up with no ideas.

            “ AGG! We need Brock!” Misty yells. Ash nods.

            “ I wish we knew where the heck he might be.” Ash says.

            “ In our dreams we might know.” Misty says with a sigh.

           
            “ You guys! Don’t act so bummed! We’ll figure out how to destroy Team Rocket, and I bet you’ll find Brock again.” Jen says.

            “ They are right ya know.” Kasie says. They cross the forest back and head to Professor Oak’s house.

            “ You guys, where are we going?” Jen asks.

            “ I think I may know where to find help.” Ash says. They get to his house, and knock on the door. Professor Oak opens the door.

            “ Oh, hi guys!” Prof. Oak says.

            “ Hi!” They all say.

            “ Come on in. Someone’s been looking for you.” They step in his house, and go to his living room when they see Brock.

            “ Hey guys!” Brock says. “ Did ya need something?”
