Author’s Note: Second part of my songfics series. I guess I’m going by alphabetically order- this is gonna get so much harder with Q’s, X’s and Z’s. No angst here. Sorry. So- here you go…Blessed.

Jessie leaned back into the snow, sprawled out like she was going to create a snow angel. Instead, she closed her eyes and sighed.

Life had changed so much since she joined Team Rocket. True, she was still poor and malnourished, but there was a difference.

She was happy now.

She had friends now. People who cared about her. She opened her eyes a little and saw James and Meowth having a snowball fight a few feet away. She smiled and closed them again, resting back into the snow.

James. She giggled inwardly, an action she hadn’t done in a long time.

"James, Jessie’s gigglin’!" Meowth said, dropping his snowball.

James turned to his female partner and dropped down to talk to her, "Are you okay, Jess?"

She opened her eyes and sat up, smiling at both of them, "Great…"

Blessed for everything you've given me;

The two males exchanged looks. James took Jessie’s arms, "Are you sure you okay, Jessica?"

She looked up into his eyes and saw they were full of concern. She smiled at him, loving the way he said Jessica.

Meowth looked between the two of them and started to walk away, "I’ll leave ya two lovebirds to ya selves."

James nodded at Meowth, then refocused his attention on Jessie, "Jessie? You good? You don’t seem right…"

True, she had always been so mean to her fellow teammates, but today she had realized. Realized that life was better now.

Before she was always hiding, sad, ashamed of her poor life. No one seemed to care, her own mother seemed distant. Life was dark and unkind. She stared up into James’ eyes once more and whispered, "Thank you…"

There are times, that I test your
faith, 'til you think you might surrender.
Baby I'm, I'm not ashamed to say, that my
hopes were growing slender.

His eyes clouded with confusion, "You’re welcome…for what?"

Jessie laughed and slid her hands into his, "For saving me…"

"From…from what, Jessie?" He squeezed her hands, utterly worried for her.

She smiled, "From the dark…from before…from everything."

He smiled back, still confused, but decide to play along, "I’ll always safe you."

"I know I’ve been mean to you…but I wanted to make sure you were…" She started, then turned her gaze.

"I was…what?" James prompted, turning her back to face him.

"Mine." With those words she pressed her lips against his.

You walked by in the nick of time
looking like an answered prayer

He kissed her back, then broke away. He whispered her name, "Jessica?"

She didn’t let him talk and captured his lips again.

"I’m sorry…" She murmured over and over again, "I had make sure…"

Now it was James’ turn to shut her up. He returned her kisses, "Its okay, Jessica."

"Jeez," A voice behind them said, "I leave ya two alone for a few minutes and look wat happens!"

They both broke apart and turned to Meowth. Jessie smiled, "Yeah…I’ve been…considering some stuff."

"Like?" Meowth prompted, keeping his distance incase they went into another love spasm.

"How much I love you guys- brotherly love and," She turned to James, "the other kind of love."

Meowth and James blushed. Meowth spoke up, "Jeez, Jessie- I always thought you thought you were cursed wit us!"

Jessie looked downwards and spoke softly, "Not cursed…" She lifted her head, "Blessed,"

Meowth gave her a curious look, "Did I miss somethin’ here?"

Jessie took his gaze, "I’m sorry---I had to make sure I had friends…I’ve always been fooled."

Meowth crept closer and cocked his head, "Of course we your friends, Jessie? Why wouldn’t we be?"

James didn’t let Jessie answer, "We did stand by you, all through the yelling and scolding…" Jessie hung her head, "But we still love you."

Both hugged Jessie, while her eyes filled with tears.

"I’ve never had great friends before…"

Meowth tore apart from their hugs and smiled, "Well, ya do now!" He walked away, leaving the two ‘lovebirds’ to themselves.

James shook his head, laughed and turned to Jessie, "Friends…and so much more." He kissed her again leaving Jessie feeling as if she truly had been blessed.
