Soul Seeker

The beggar just stood there, out in the torrential rain of Azure City in the Rictoma region. Looking at the people, but not really looking at them. To the beggar every person had some shimmering blue spirit in them, that always showed and which always changed whenever the person did something good or bad.

Not only humans had this spirit, though, so did Pokemon. Their spirits were just the same. The only real difference is that the Pokemon spirit had the tendency to not turn evil as easily as would a human’s spirit.

The beggar stood there for two days, looking at people’s spirits. And then… something happened. A man in his mid-thirties, who was wearing a bright yellow rain coat, glasses, a suit and some expensive leather shoes, walked towards his black car. The beggar looked at the man’s spirit. It was calm at first and then it started shaking vigorously, the spirit’s aura turned a bright orange in the beggar’s eyes.

“Oh no…” said the beggar, “that means he’s going to-”, but before the beggar could finish his sentence a bolt of lightning struck the building’s lightning rod with a high magnitude of energy. The force of the bolt of lightning tore the lightning rod from the building and sent it hurtling down towards the man’s location.

The beggar took action, but it was probably already too late. The beggar would still try though, to beat the rod to the man and push the man out of the way just in time. He ran as fast as he could and then when death seemed inevitable the beggar ran faster and pushed the man out of the way right before the lightning rod hit the man’s car.

The man was awed, he almost died, and he was saved, all because of a beggar.

“S-s-sir, m-may I repay y-you by paying you?” asked the man.

“No need,” replied the beggar, “I just did what I had to do, and that was to save your life. Now, go on and do the things the rich people do, like go to parties and get drunk, and whatnot.”

“But, I need to repay you somehow.”

“I told you I don’t need a reward, now go!” the beggar yelled.

“A-all right sir, if that is how you wish me to repay you.” As the man walked away he murmured to himself, “What a strange man…”

Ten Days Later…

Ash and his friends were running through Azure City, following Pikachu as he excitedly ran towards a big blue building in the middle of the city. On that building were the words, “Pokemon Paradise” And the reason Pikachu was running so fast there was because it was the grand opening of this new building.

“Whoa! Pikachu, wait up!” yelled Ash as he ran several feet behind Pikachu.

“Pikachu! Please! Slow down!” screamed Misty as she ran after Pikachu, Ash, Max, May, Brock.

As Pikachu neared the building he picked up his pace, getting ever the more excited.

Pikachu ran towards the new building. It had stairs leading up to the entrance, and on each step names of different Pokemon were engraved into them. Once Pikachu reached the top, he was disappointed that a huge crowd of people and Pokemon blocked his view of the building. So, Pikachu just passed through everyone’s legs and finally got to the front. He was amazed at what he saw. The building had a beautiful walkway, and on each side was a colorful flower garden, behind these gardens were fountains. Each of these fountains had a different water type Pokemon on top of them. Not all of the water type Pokemon were on those fountains, only the most powerful, and graceful ones were there. Past those fountains there were two waterfalls, one on each side. What was more amazing was that the waterfalls were natural, for the building rested on a huge mountain.

Pikachu was awed by the beauty of this building and just walked forward as “Pokemon Paradise” loomed overhead. Pikachu stopped at the big blue doors that led into the building. Pikachu let out a silent squeal of joy. Pikachu motioned his hand to the door, he then tried to push the door open, but to no avail. It was too humongous to be moved an inch by a little Pikachu. Pikachu didn’t give up though; he pushed harder and harder, until… The huge doors swung opened and bashed Pikachu’s face in and sent him flying to the middle of the walkway. Pikachu got up from the sudden hit and rubbed his head, trying to soothe the pain.

Ash saw what happened and was worried about his little friend. The same went for the other members of his group. They were all worried. They rushed to the building. It didn’t seem to get any closer though. Ash grimaced at the thought of not being able to help Pikachu. That thought gave him an extra burst of speed as he sped towards Pikachu.

Pikachu looked up from the ground and was greeted by a real Pokemon paradise. There were magnificent play areas for Pokemon inside the building. There were also huge trays of Pokefood available; there were also tons of things that Pokemon would enjoy. For example, there was a grooming parlor, and there was also one other thing that made Pikachu get excited. At the far end of the hall in the building there were some TM and HM stations, something that pumped Pikachu’s spirit for a fight. Ash and the group finally reached Pikachu. At that moment May scooped up Pikachu and hugged it like a mother would, saying soothing words, and giving it an eventual kiss on the head. Pikachu loved the attention, and gave a contented “Pika”. Still wrapped up in soothing Pikachu May didn’t see what was about to hit her. No, literally, she didn’t see what was about to hit her.

This is my first fic in a long while. Anyways, for all the people who enjoy Who’s Side Are You On? (I know there’s a spelling mistake) I won’t write it anymore. Yes, I think it has gotten out of control and I decided to discontinue it. If you really like the fic that bad, you could send me a review telling me how much you liked the fic and you might just get me to change my mind about it.
