The Mind of a Fighter By: Forsaken Duty is heavier than a mountain. Death is lighter than a feather. Timmy Cogail could hardly wait. In three days it would be his thirteenth birthday and his father said that he could become a pokemon trainer then! Timmy’s father, Michael Cogail, was a pokemon trainer, and he had two strong pokemon (among others), that he kept with him at all times, a machoke, and a fearow. Timmy so wanted to become a pokemon trainer; he also wanted to be very strong like his father. Timmy had started taking Karate on his sixth birthday at Koga’s dojo down in Fusia City with his father and mother. Timmy had just gotten his first-degree black belt down there and they had all come up to Pewter City to visit his grandparents and to celebrate. Timmy had gotten up at four o’clock today so that he wouldn’t be late to Professor Oak’s home to get his first pokemon. He wanted to get a fighting pokemon so that he would be able to train with it. Timmy got up and dressed in a flurry of clothes, and raced downstairs to eat the breakfast his mom, Jenny, had made for him. Timmy was supposed to hike all the way to Pallet Town with his father, in order to build strength. “Come on Timmy. It’s time to go!” Timmy’s father said. “Just a second.” Timmy said as he tied his backpack on his back (It was a long way and he didn’t want to lose anything). “There.” Timmy said as he finished the last knot. “Ok father I’m coming.” And with that Timmy ran outside with his father. “Here we go son.” Michael said to Timmy. And they we off at a jog, with Timmy’s mom waving from the door. After four hours of hard hiking they reached a huge Forest were they stopped to take a break for a while. “Whew! That was a hard run father.” Timmy said as he wiped the sweat from his face. “Yes it was son. But we’ll have to keep going at that pace or we won’t make it on time to Pallet Town.” His father replied. And with that in mind they both set out again. It was about eight at night when they stopped to sleep. “Ok son,” Timmy’s father said, “We can sleep for four hours but then we must be on are way.” Timmy was asleep as soon as he laid down. Four hours later Timmy and his father were on their way. It wasn’t until nightfall that they reached Viridian City. “Ok son, we can stop here for the night.” Michael said gesturing to a Pokemon Center. And when they got there, they unrolled their sleeping bags, laid down and went to sleep. The next day they both woke at four in the morning, checked out, and left for Pallet Town. They both jogged for miles and miles until they started seeing the tops of buildings in the distance. They we almost there! Timmy could hardly wait.
