A young woman walked along the busy streets of Fuchsia City, her long ruby hair tied in a simple ponytail. Her aqua eyes glimmered with tears. Today was supposed to be her 18th birthday, but she didn't feel like celebrating. There was no one she wanted to share her happiness with, except one person.

Ash Ketchem.

Staring blankly ahead

Making a way
Through the crowd..

She dearly loved the boy, but didn't have the courage to tell him how she really felt. She had many chances to tell him, but failed every time. She had a chance to tell him on the road, during his battles, and when he left her for that job. She knew that he had to do it. It was the only way to become a Pokemon Master, a job that he had wanted ever since they had met. But she could never stop loving him.

He had never called since then. He promised, she told herself. If he loved you, he would have at least called. She hung her head down low.

She got onto her bike, then pedaled to her home in Cerulean City, her shopping bags from the Market in her basket, colored a pale baby blue.

The guests had started arriving, her oldest sister, Daisy answering the door, while Misty was getting ready. Her hair was down, her aqua dress hung just below her kneecaps. Anyone would've told her she looked beautiful. "Misty, like come down! There's someone who wants to see you!" Lily cried. She sighed, and then descended down the stairs. What she saw stunned her. A young man, dressed in black, was standing in the doorway. His raven hair was free, his brown eyes filled with emotion, and an aging Pikachu stood by his side. Her eyes had filled with wonder.

It was Ash

"Oh my god." She was startled. How could've he know where she was, when they had been separated for so many years? "Happy Birthday, Mist." He said, somewhat full of compassion. She ran down the stairs, and embraced him tight.

She felt strong arms embrace her. She shed silent tears, the drops of water catching themselves in his shirt. "Misty, could I talk to you a minute. In private?" he silently turned to look at all the guests that were staring at them. She happily nodded, then led him to her room.

They then discussed about what had happened since they had separated. He had claimed the title "Pokemon Master" and had asked to take a month off to travel a bit. She smiled. Maybe he does care, she reasoned. Suddenly, he stuffed his hand into his pocket.

He then placed Misty on her queen-sized bed, and kneeled in front of her. "I know that we haven't seen each other in years, and that I broke every promise that I made that day. But, I feel this is a perfect time to do this." He took his hand out of his pocket to reveal a velvet box. She started crying; not of sadness, but of joy. She had been dreaming of this since they had been traveling in the Orange Islands.

"Misty Waterflower, will you marry me?"

She jumped off her bed and came up to his face, confirming the proposal perfectly. Their lips locked, their love soaring to the heavens above. She was finally going to fulfill her dream. Her dream to be Mrs. Ketchem.

"How'd you get here anyway?" the young woman asked. "Well, I walked a thousand miles to see you." He simply replied, then kissed his fiancé like he never did before.

A:N/ Well, what do you think? I hope you guys liked this. I'm a big fan of AAML, and I thought that a fic about Ash and Misty would be appropriate. It's my first song fic, so feel free to express your feelings. I won't send in another story unless I get a review!! So, review! :P
