Disclaimer: I just another one of those pointless things that you must do, even though Nintendo probably doesn’t care, but I do NOT own Pokemon or any Pokemon related ideas in this story, only the plot came from the small thing in my head…

Pokeman

Part 1: Remember

Misty was at home watching T.V. when there was another news bulletin, they seemed to be on as much as regular programming lately. The Pokeman has spoiled another of Team Rockets plan’s, or Pokeman has stopped Team Rocket from creating another disaster, or Pokeman has saved many lives today was all that she ever seemed hear when the T.V. was on. At first she liked hearing them, it made her happy to see him so successful, but soon she grew annoyed with them bringing back the same memories, She hated memories, the good ones are sad cuz they are over and the sad ones are sad cuz well… they’re sad. She turned off the T.V. and sat back on the couch, and she thought of how the last years had gone. She thought of when she thought Ash was going to say “I love you” right after he won the championship, but it turned out that he was just saying “I lost your book”. She couldn’t help but giggle. She now lived in Pallet near Ash, and they were still good friends even though Ash sometimes went on those long trips. She thought of how Ash thought that she never knew, when he gave her such stupid excuses all the time. Then she got up and went to bed. She dreamed that night of the past.

Misty crouched under the window listening carefully

Oak: Ash there is a problem I need your help with

Ash: What is it?

Oak: As you know Lance the dragon master was killed

Ash: Yeah so?

Oak: It wasn’t really natural causes Ash

Ash: What do you mean

Oak: He was killed during a mission to spoil a Team Rocket plan

Ash: You mean…

Oak: Yes, Lance was The Pokeman

Ash: So now who will keep Team Rocket in line?

Oak: That is what I need to talk to you about… Ash, I need you to replace him before anyone knows he’s dead

Ash: What!?

Oak: You will be given adequate training of course

He expected Ash to get upset

Ash: WOW! I get to fill the shoes of THE POKEMAN!!??

Oak: Uhhhh, yeah you do, So you see, your journey isn’t quite over yet

Ash: I see… We’ll start tomorrow

Oak: We?

Ash: Me and Misty

Oak: No you don’t understand, only you may go, It is far too dangerous for Misty

Ash: But…

Oak: No but’s, and you’ll have to tell her bye without telling her of your mission

Ash: Then she won’t know why I have to, so she’ll think it’s what I want to do…

Oak: I’m sorry Ash, this wasn’t my choice, and I wish you didn’t have to, but-

Ash: Yeah, Yeah, I understand, Bye Professor

Oak: And remember you can’t let anyone know!

He was surrounded by Rockets, one false move could cost him his life, maybe that’s why he loved doing it so much, the rush, the adrenaline, he couldn’t quit if he wanted to, but he didn’t want to anyway. He had trained his Pikachu to go in it’s poke ball and not to be scared, he had to with his job, a Pikachu on his shoulder was cost him his secret identity. He grabbed the rope he left earlier and he swung out the window just as the Voltorb they left behind exploded, then he went home.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Ash got home he had a shower, then went to bed, he had to get up early and have breakfast with Misty. He never lived with his mother anymore, but still lived in Pallet, which was bigger than it used to be, it had a Pokemon Centre and a PokeMart, and a Cop Shop, with a rather nosey officer Jenny, and was the new location of the Cascade Gym, which Misty owned. It was moved there after half of Cerealion burned to the ground due to Team Rocket. The Pokeman had saved many lives in that fire, including the three previous owners of the Cascade Gym. Ash remembered the time when he was supposed to tell Misty that they were going to have to split up when he started his mission, but as luck would have it (either that or a certain redhead) she decided to move to Pallet before he told her (but not before she knew). Of course, he still thinks she doesn’t know. What he does know however, even though Misty doesn’t know he knows, is that Misty has a huge crush on him, he likes to tease her by making her think that he likes her too or that he knows she likes him with carefully worded phrases, then contradict the possibility next sentence. But Ash didn’t do it to be mean, he just liked having fun with her head. The only problem was the way she took his teasing, among other things, made him like her as well. That was a problem because his work was to dangerous to get involved with other people.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Misty woke up the next morning in a very good mood, she jumped out of bed and into the shower anxiously. She couldn’t wait to see Ash that morning. She really liked him, but of course she would rather keep him in the dark about it for a little while (good luck, he’s not THAT dumb anymore). She got all ready in a flash, she was even at the restaurant at 6:50, ten minutes early. Ash wasn’t there, but she didn’t worry about it. An hour and 3 cups of coffee later he still wasn’t there. Misty wasn’t worried though he was always this late and she had just seen the bulletin on the T.V. set up in the restaurant. It looks like the Pokeman has botched another Team Rocket plan. Then Ash came in and sat where Misty was.

Ash: Sorry I’m so late Mist, I was uh, um I

Did he have to make it so obvious? She felt sorry for him always trying to cover his butt for being late or not showing up, but at the same time she liked to tease him with it, by making him make extra excuses, but she also helped him cover sometimes.

Misty: What do you mean late? Weren’t we supposed to be here at 8?

Ash: (Jumping on the chance) huh, um oh yeah, yes we were!

Misty: So Ash what did you do yesterday?

Ash: Umm, I uh gardened

Misty: (slyly) Oh, but I thought you didn’t have a garden

Ash: Umm I don’t but, I went to the communal one in town

Misty: Oh, what are you growing

Ash: (trying to get her off the subject) Nothing to important, Daisies, Violets, Lilies

It got the desired effects as Misty still didn’t get along with her sisters.

Misty: ASH KETCHUM THAT IS NOT FUNNY

Ash: (slightly laughing) Ok, Ok, it was just a joke

Then a beep came from his watch

Ash: Oh, crap, Misty I’m sorry I sorta have to go.

Misty: But you just got here

Ash: I know but I forgot to do something, I’ll phone you later, Bye.

Misty: (a little pissed now) Fine, bye Ash.

That was the last straw, Misty was mad, he couldn’t just throw her aside whenever lives needed saving. At the end of that thought Misty calmed down as she realized how selfish she was being. Then she had an idea. It would start coming into play today.

END of Chapter 1

Hey everyone, how was that chapter, I think it turned out better than the prologue, what do you think? That chapter was sort of just to describe the story a little better, I’m hoping to make it more exciting. Please, I could use some comments and/or ideas, good or bad, as it is I have no idea if you guys like it or not, I haven’t got 1 email for it yet. Funky_Magicarp@hotmail.com . It isn’t that hard to type or even copy and paste is it?
