And so it begins... When the time has come to be, for the evil ones to be set free. The one with the blade called the Brute along with the one with the Flaming Flute. Wills come forth, to begin their quest from the north. If they should fail on the way, Darkness would fall over the earth in one day. And the sleeping death will awake, to form an army at the Frozen Lake And the bringer of death, would destroy the world with his breath. But if they succeed, the Lighting sword will make the darkness bleed. And all the evil will flee from the land, when the Flute sings with its magical sound. And the bringer of death, would suffocate in his own tormented breath. But a word of caution, Trust the one you trust the least For the one you trust above all, will be the greatest reason for your downfall. This is a story about love, trust, courage and bravery between a group of friends, caught in the middle of a twisted plan in the destruction of the world. Here they'll experience death and sorrow, through pain, treachery and torture. They'll learn from the mistakes they make and they'll suffer from the choices they chose. They will learn the meaning of freedom and how precious life is once it is taken away. They will all live with despair and feed on greed, but they will also have each other, and that is worth dying for. Let me introduce myself. My name is Kitredadiana de Loprensre, but you can call me Kitana. I am a sorceress. Now before I go on, I want to make a few things clear. First of all, a sorceress and a witch are not the same thing. If I caught anyone telling me otherwise I will skin you alive and let you bleed to death. It's an insult to us sorceresses to hear other people say we are witches. Witches don't come anywhere near our description. They are pathetic brainless humans who have the desire to have magical power, where as we are born with it. Sorry, sorceresses are creatures of magic, we weren't born, we were created. Witches like to torture and sacrifice people, and for some pathetic reason like to use their blood to call forth their so-called magic. They also need to write everything down that they do, because they are too stupid to remember their own spells. We on the other hand, don't sacrifice people for their blood to create magic, we already have it. There is only a handful of us and we live for thousands of years, improving our knowledge and skills over the years. Us sorceresses and wizards have the craving to learn more. This is how most of us spent our entire life doing. We all live on our own, for that is the only way to learn things by using your own mind instead of someone else's. We get together every beginning of a new century. Then we exchanged our knowledge with one another and catch up on things we missed out. Of course if there's someone you like, you can go with that person and travel together, but that is scarcely ever. And have you ever seen the place in which a witch lives. It's degusting. I can't even begin to imagine how they survive living like that, not to mention the awful smell that fills their cave-like home. I don't think we could survive for more than a few seconds in there. We live in palaces. Ordinary people and witches can't see our homes because to them, we do not exist, therefor neither does our houses. To them it is invisible so we live our life apart from them, almost like we live on the same planet, but in different dimensions. Then secondly we have another responsibility. We weren't created to cause destruction and anguish on earth. No, we love the humans. We serve as their protectors. We try to hold peace, maintain balance between mankind and nature, and try to prevent wars, but even sometimes a war is needed to gain peace. That is how we have lived of thousands of years until now. My mother and I live together peacefully in a small palace just outside Pallet Town. I'm allowed to stay with her since I'm still just a child, but sooner or later I too would have to move out, but that was something to worry about when I get older. Everything was going fine for us until my mother got a vision. She was totally freaked out and wouldn't even tell me what it was about. She immediately called for a gathering that would take place the following red moon. But she didn't take me along. Instead she took me deep into the forest until we reached a gigantic tree. I was overjoyed in seeing the tree for it was the last of its kind. It is called the Zeldus, meaning protector of life. This is the biggest and oldest tree known to us. It was one of the every first trees created on earth and only one still exists. My mother led me to the tree and together we walked right into it. I was surprised to find that inside it looked like a home. My mother told me that she has decided that it was time for me to move out and come live here. I was heart broken but I also knew that this day would eventually have come. She stayed with me for two days, before she left. She told me of her prediction and asked me to study it. She showed me how and what to do. She was very troubled over something, but I figured that it was only because of the vision. She left her small diary with me and told me not to open it until after the red moon. She also made me swear not to leave this place or to search for her. She gave me one last kiss then left and that was the last time I ever saw her. I waited for what seemed like forever for the red moon to come. Then at last it did. But when I opened my mother's diary, I wept for days. My mother was dead, killed by our own kind because of her prediction. I was horrified to finally have learned the truth. My mother had foreseen that a great war will break out at the turn of the next millennium and that there were traitors among us who will kill many innocent people, even of our own kind. But somewhere in the future a young boy and girl will come forth and together they will destroy each and everyone that worked for the Dark Alliance. The council became scared and frightened of her words and thought that she was cursing them, so they had her killed. They searched for me too, but thanks to my mother they will never be able to find me. She had thought ahead and brought me to this tree, for this too is the only tree on which magic has no effect. So they won't be able to track me down with magic and also it was just me and my mother that knew of the existence of the last Zeldus tree. I've been studding my mother's prediction in isolation for so long, trying to find what the future will bring. Naturally I can't change the future, but there are many forks in such a prediction that can lead to better or even horrifying ends if the wrong rode is chosen. But it's not my call to change, that all depends on the boy and the choices he makes. I can merely give him my advice and protection. I can't tell what the future will bring 'cause I don't know. I only see bits and pieces, but not enough to make even part of a picture. But the things I did see that will happen to the boy and to the person he loves more that life itself, kept me crying for days. Just to see how much pain and suffering that will be inflected on them was enough to keep me awake most of the time. This too is why I've been studding the prediction for so long. I was trying to find a road that won't cause these two all the pain they'll have. In the end I did found one, now it's my job to make sure it stays that way. But I have another problem. I'm not the only one that knows of the prediction, so if the dark ones manage to create another rode for them in the prediction, all would be lost. That's why I must find the boy and girl and get them to safety before the dark ones can get their hands on them. My heart goes out to those two poor souls. To everything they will have to sacrifice because of things they had no control over. I can only pray that the good spirits be with both of them. Hope and friendship is all they have, and that alone will help them get through the dark times to come. Well I must be off. The time is near for the Dark Alliance to make their first move. I must get prepared. These last few days are the only happiness the people will have for a very long time. ******************** A lone figure concealed behind a dark cloak, leaned against a burned out tree-trunk and gazed upon the small town called Pallet. His eyes narrowed. Not far from where he stood he could see someone running into the forest. A cruel smile crept over his lips. This is what he has been waiting for. He had been looking for a long time for this person, and where this person was heading the other was sure follow. All he had to do was be patient. He will have his revenge and once he got his hands on then, no one will be able to stop him, for so the prophecy had foretold. He had cleared all other obstacles in his way, which left only two. He had travelled for many a day to complete this task. He began his journey from Saffron City where he had to kill the psychic girl called Sabrina and her boyfriend, the Rock Master Brock from Pewter City because they refused to join the Dark Alliance. They had put up a great fight, and he was pleased that they didn't die like cowards before he finally pushed them down the waterfall. From there he went to Vermilion City where he had to find Lt. Surge. He on the other hand agreed willingly, once he heard of the power he would have if he did. Then he travelled to Fuchsia to find Koga and his sister Aya. Koga agreed but his sister thought otherwise so she had to be killed. From there he went to Cinnabar Island, where the one called Blaine lived. He too refused at first but then agreed when he saw the riches he'll have. From there the mysterious man flew to Trovita Island and persuaded the young man called Rudy to join. Then his search let him to the Elite Four. They all agreed except for Bruno. Lorelei then tried to kill him, but failed and got killed himself in the process. The mysterious man then went to Giovanni, to seek his alliance, but he refused and said that he worked for no one but himself. So in the end the cloaked figure had to kill him and destroyed his entire headquarters with everyone inside, except for Butch and Cassidy who decided to join him. His closest friend, is a young man called Gary who was with him from the beginning. Both of them wanted revenge on the same person although for different reasons. They searched for more than two years for the legendary Sleeping Stone, which in return gave them unimaginable power. Unfortunately the stone choses only one to possesses its other power and this was given to him and not to Gary. Gary was furious and tried to kill him, but cloaked man had other plans for him, so he took his soul away and made him his protector and personal guard. Over the next three years, the cloaked figure gathered an army and changed the men and women he so carefully selected into something else, something dark and hideous. They too have lost their souls and was now the walking dead. But the ones called Lance, Agatha, Blain, Lt. Surge, Koga, Butch, Cassidy and Rudy, he let them keep their souls, and gave them each their ideal power in the form of a stone on a neckless as well as a specific amount of men from the army, to be trained under their new power. To Lance he gave the power 'Dark Dragon' in a small black stone on a silver neckless, as well as his two special pokemon, Dragonite and Magmar. To Agatha he gave the power 'Poison Death' in a green stone and her pokemon is Gastly and Haunter. To Lt. Surge he gave the power 'Thunder Crash' in a yellow stone and his pokemon is Riachu and Jolteon. To Blain he gave the power 'Shadow Flame' in a red stone and his pokemon is Rapidash and Flareon. To Koga he gave the power 'Black Wind' in a maroon stone and his pokemon is Weezing and Cubone. To Butch he have the power 'Psychic Shock' in a purple stone and his pokemon is Drowzee and Slowbrow. To Cassidy he gave the power 'Living Dead' in a brown stone and her pokemon is Sandslash and Weepingbell. To Rudy he gave the power 'Ice Breath' in a blue stone and his pokemon is Lampras and Dewgong. To Gary he gave the most powerful power called 'Frozen Heart' and his pokemon is Eevee. After a few minutes another figure ran out from the house towards the forest. The cloaked figure smiled again. "Let the hunt begin," he said in a low voice. ******************** A girl with long fiery red hair, dressed in long blue pants and a thick white wool jersey, walked in silent anger along a narrow forest trail. Her icy blue eyes were blazing furiously and her hands were both rolled in tight fists in her pockets. She looked at the sky and muttered something under her breath. Thick dark clouds were packed tight together, preparing for the coming storm, while a frosty cold wind swirled merrily around her. She was beginning to get tired, for she had been walking for over an hour to get away from the one person she truly cared about, and because she still wasn't fully cured of her disease. Up ahead she saw a big rock and decided to take a rest there and also to try and calm herself. She pulled of her brown hand gloves and threw then forcefully to the ground. She kicked a small piece of wood out of her way and sat down on the rock. Angry tears were burning in her eyes. She hated the world, but most of all she hated the one person named Duplica. She had taken away the one thing she valued more than her own life, and that was the boy called Ash. Everything was going fine until she showed up. She closed her eyes and relived what happened over the past few days. ***** Misty was staying with the Ash for another two weeks before she had to return to Cerulean City. She woke up early to prepare for her daily jog to the lake. She had planned to tell Ash how she felt about him before she had to go, but then *she* showed up. Just as Misty returned from her jog and walked into the house, she saw someone sitting on the couch. It was Duplica. She was chatting with Ash, who miraculously was already up and dressed. She walked over to them and Duplica greeted her with a warm smile. Misty in return said hi and told them to excuse her for a while. She was happy to see Duplica again since she was also her friend and hurried to take a shower so that she could hear what she had to say. She joined them after a few minutes and together they chatted for an hour or so before they decided to head outside. It was a beautiful day and all their pokemon was already about playing around in the garden. Ash had to train his pokemon so she and Duplica decided to hang out by the lake and catch up on old times. They stayed there the whole day enjoying each others company. Duplica asked a lot of questions concerning her and Ash and their relationship. Misty couldn't hide it from her any longer and spilled out her whole heart about how she felt about Ash, but couldn't find the courage to tell him. Duplica just laughed and told her if she didn't tell him she would. They returned late that afternoon and Ash asked her to stay for the night. She agreed but said that she had to be of early tomorrow morning because she had some things to take care of. The next morning Misty didn't wake until midday. She had suddenly fallen ill and had to stay in bed. Ash came later that day to see how she was doing and also announced that Duplica was going to stay for another few days. That didn't seem to bother Misty until she saw Duplica flirted with Ash. She wasn't aloud to leave her bed for another week but she just couldn't stand it to be cooped up in a room for the whole day doing nothing. She sneaked out one afternoon to see what Ash and Duplica was busy doing, and saw shocked to see that she was sitting on top of Ash and tickling him. She went back to her room feeling dismayed and hurt. After that she sneaked out every day to spy on them and every time she wished she hadn't. She grew to hate Duplica and wanted to strangle her for betraying her. Then this morning when Misty woke up feeling a bit better, she decided to go downstairs and join them. She was just about to enter the kitchen where she heard them talking, when she abruptly stopped dead in her tracks. Ash was pressed against the wall with Duplica against him and was kissing him full on the lips. She stood there totally shocked and heartbroken. Ash also looked shocked and pushed Duplica away from him. He looked at Misty in surprise. He tried to say something but couldn't seem to find the right words, while Duplica stood smiling at her. Misty turned around and ran back to her room and locked the door. Cold tears streamed down her cheeks as she shakily went over to her bed. She heard Ash knocking on the door and asking her to open it. Ash kept on pleating that she must open the door, but her thoughts were too far away to hear him. Then she jumped up. She pulled on some clothes and headed to the window. She opened it softly and climbed out and down the wall to the ground. She started running towards the forest not caring about anything anymore. She wanted to get as far away as possible before anyone sees her. Unfortunately for her, Ash had seen her and was running after her. ***** Misty opened her eyes. Her head was thumping in pain while a sudden dizziness swept over her. She pushed back a string of red hair out of her face and sighed helplessly. She was still thinking about what happened when a noise brought her back to the present time. She turned her head in the direction from where the noise came from. It was Ash. He looked exhausted and was breathing heavily while leaning against a tree with his shoulder. Misty got to her feet and started to walk away. Ash quickly pushed himself away and hurried after her. "Wo-would you please stop Misty," he said still a bit out of breath. Misty didn't answer but kept on walking until she reached the edge of the cliff in front of her. She looked down and saw that it was at least a thirty-foot drop into a roaring river. Ash touched her shoulder but she jerked away. "What the hell is the matter with you," he demanded angrily. "What's the matter with me?" she asked in dismay. "There's nothing wrong with me!" "Alright, you don't have to scream, I can hear you just fine." Misty's eyes suddenly blazed. "What do you want?" "I came to look for you," he said calmly. "Well now that you found me, you can go back to Duplica." "Oh, so that's what this is all about. You're jealous," he said with a laugh. "Jealous of what? Of you? I don't think so," she said looking away. Ash restrained him from getting angry but failed. "Yes of me and of what Duplica did." "Well you guessed wrong. How can I get jealous over someone as pathetic and-and stupid as you?" Misty felt her heart sink deep into a hole after she said that. Ash looked hurt but then he became furious. "Well thank you for telling me the truth. At least now I know where I stand with you," he said turning around and started to walk away. "Wait! I didn't mean that," said Misty and suddenly grabbed his arm to stop him from going further but he jerked his arm free and carried on. "Fine go then, see if I care," she said throwing her hands up into the air. Ash shrugged. "When did you ever care about anything, except yourself?" Misty shut her mouth after those words. He was right. She sank down to the ground and watched him disappear into the darkening forest. Her vision was beginning to blur and she felt suddenly very sick. She lay down on her back and closed her eyes. She couldn't believe what had happened just now, but most of all what Ash had said to her. She felt a sudden sharp pain in her sumach and felt it burn into her chest. She bit her lip in agony and curled into a ball while listening to the roaring sound of thunder not far away. ******************** Ash finally got home. He was angry and every tired and wanted only to go to his room and sleep, but Duplica prevented him from doing so. She ran straight to him and practically squeezed him to death. "Oh Ash I was so worried. When I heard that there was a big storm on the way I-I got so scared," she said between sobs. Ash pushed her away unexpectedly and looked at her surprised face. "What did you say?" he asked urgently. "I-I said I was worried." "No, not that. What did you say about a storm?" "They sent a warning out on the radio that a big storm was heading this way and that they advised everyone to stay inside until it has passed." Ash looked horrified. "Misty." "What-what about Misty," she asked confused. "No time to explain I have to go," said Ash hurrying upstairs. Ash came back with pikachu and his backpack and ran to the closed door. "Wait Ash where are you going!" Duplica called after him as he started to run towards the forest. Ash couldn't hear what she had said over the sound of thunder, so he kept on running with pikachu on his shoulder. "Pikapi!" yelled pikachu just before a tree in front of Ash got hit by lightning. Ash quickly jumped out of the way and pushed his way threw the thick bushes. "Thanks Pikachu, I owe you one," said Ash just as he broke through the last part of the bush. "Pika pi," said Pikachu in return. They ran and ran for what seemed like an eternity, while also playing dodge ball with the flaming lightning. Finally Ash saw Misty. She was sitting with her back to him and her legs over the edge of the cliff. He softly walked over to where she sat and flopped down next to her, looking into a distance. Misty also didn't look at him and stared at something on the other side of the cliff. "See anything you like?" he finally asked breaking the silence. Misty shrugged but didn't answer him. Pikachu jumped down from Ash's shoulder and climbed onto Misty's lab. "Pi," said Pikachu as he snuggled against her. Misty suddenly smiled and stroke pikachu's head. The dark sky was suddenly lighted by a blinding flash of white light. Misty slightly jumped in fright and clung to Ash. Misty realised what she was doing and abruptly let go of him. Ash looked away so that Misty wouldn't see him smiling. "What do you want?" asked Misty suddenly. "I came to find you," said Ash still smiling slightly. Misty sighed. "Well now that you did, would you please leave so I can be with myself." "Sorry, no can do. There's a storm coming and I'm not leaving until you decide to stop being sorry for yourself and come home with me." Misty jumped to her feet and glared at him in anger. "I'm not feeling sorry for myself and I'm not going back with you so you might as well go." Ash stroked the confused pikachu's head and placed him on the ground. "Misty you don't have to get so excited, but I'm serious I'm not going home without you." "And since when do you care about me?" she asked unexpectedly. Ash was caught of guard and didn't know what to say. He couldn't tell her how he felt about her just yet. It has to be the perfect time when he tell her, and right now isn't that time. "Well I didn't say I care about you, I just can't leave you here when I know there's a storm on the way. It goes against my nature," Misty looked away. "Well your wasting your time. I'm not going." Ash sighed and ran his fingers through his bushy black hair. "Dammit Misty. Would you for once listen to yourself? You sound like a four year old when he has to take a bath." Pikachu shook his head and sat down and sighed to himself. He knew that once they start to argue, it would have to take a miracle to stop them. Misty's eyes were blazing with anger. "I cannot believe this. Ever since you came into my life everything went from bad to worse. I wish I had never met you, so that I won't have to argue with a rock." Ash turned cold after hearing that. "At least I still have a family who loves me." Misty felt a spear rip through her heart. She couldn't believe that Ash had said that. The worst of all was that he was right. Her family doesn't love her, that's why she ran away in the first place. Misty looked away her vision blurring again. Ash was shocked at what he had said. He had wanted to say it and now that he did, he wished that he hadn't. He couldn't seem to find his voice and looked at Pikachu for help. Pikachu just looked at Misty and sighed again. He had known that this would happen. "Misty, I-" "Don't speak to me," said Misty through tears. "Just, just leave me alone." Misty turned around and ran blindly into the forest. Ash ran after her with Pikachu right behind him. They finally came to a stop on top of the highest part of the mountain. Misty was standing at the every edge of the cliff and for a moment Ash thought she was going to jump, but she just sat down. Pikachu breathed out in relief. He had probably thought the same as Ash. "Misty, I'm sor-" But before Ash could finish his sentence the ground underneath his feet began to tremble. Ash watched in horror as the ledge on which Misty sat started to tumble forward with her still on it. Without thinking he leaped forward and grabbed her arm and pulled her back. But the ground underneath his feet moved again and before he knew it, he was plunging down into darkness. He could hear Misty's scream and he felt something try to grab his shirt. It was Pikachu. He was falling down with Ash. Ash held tightly onto Pikachu and closed his eyes before plunging into icy cold water. Misty watched in horror as Ash fell down and disappear underneath the water. He had saved her. Misty pulled of her wool jersey and prepared to dive in after him, but someone grabbed her from behind and placed a cloth in front of her mouth. She could feel her eyelids growing heavier. She tried her best to keep them open, but at last the darkness succeeded and she sank back into the powerful arms that held her. #*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*##*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*# Authors note: If you see any spelling or grammar mistakes, please excuse them.
