This part was written by Annie. (Yes, Red quit. Don't know why, but she did.) Part 13: The Darkness That's Inside Delia looked around. She glared at Officer Jenny. "You traitor!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. Jenny laughed demonically. "No, I'm not really a traitor. I've always been in Team Rocket." Delia lunged at Jenny. She felt like hurting the smiling undercover rocket. She wanted to make the felon pay for what she had been a part of. She was supposed to be a police officer. Professor Oak and Tracey held her back. "There will be another time," Tracey said. "Don't get us killed, Mrs. Ketchum!" She relaxed, still glaring daggers at the gloating Jenny. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the Team Rocket grunts stepped forward and grabbed her. She screamed as they dragged her away, and she lost consciousness somewhere along the line. Jenny smiled evilly as they were dragged off. She turned back toward town. She had a lot of work to do, both as an officer and as a Rocket. Her double life was sometimes strenuous. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I thought I could run away from my past. Everything has taken a major turn for the worse, and it's all because of me. It wasn't anyone's fault but mine. His mother had been the boss so long ago. I hadn't known. I fell in love with Giovanni. We were married. I loved him blindly. I didn't even know he was in the dreaded Team Rocket until it was too late. Then he became Boss. He told me everything. I watched in horror. I knew that I had married a madman. Then I took a pregnancy test without his knowledge. The results came up positive. I had to protect my children. My love for him would not let me do anything more than run. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "How could you put an adorable, delicate Pokemon like Koffing out in the battle arena against a Nidoking?" James asked Geneva. "That was abusive!" Geneva looked at him. "That was my first battle! I didn't know anything about Koffing or Grimer!" They were sitting in the waiting area while a nurse tended to Geneva's Pokemon. Koffing was in intensive care. He probably wouldn't be released for a few more days. "You should have asked me! I have a Wheezing! Koffing's evolution! I hate to see such a beautiful Pokemon like Koffing get hurt!" "Well, I'm sorry!" she yelled, making her posture better. She instantly took that back. "What kind of Pokemon do you have, James?" "Wheezing and Victreebel." "Oh! Victreebel is cool!" "Thanks," James replied. "I thought you handled your Grimer and Nyura very well. I'm surprised that you won." She smiled at him. "Thank you, James. I did a paper on Nyura during my first year at Pokemon Tech." Their conversation was interrupted by a doctor coming out of the back hallway. She was holding two pokeballs in her hands, and Nyura was running around her in a futile attempt at tripping the young doctor. Geneva calmly took the pokeballs. She was worried about Koffing. She hoped it would be okay. "Koffing will be out in a week. It suffered some heavy damage," the doctor said. "Your Grimer is fine, miss, but Nyura won't go back in her pokeball." "Thanks for what you've done," Geneva said as Nyura bounded over to her and jumped on her. "If she wants to stay out, I don't intend to stop her." "Let's go eat!" James said. Geneva tried to dislodge Nyura. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Delia awoke slowly. She was lying on a marble bed. It was freezing in the room. There were no blankets. She shivered. "I see you're awake," someone said. His voice was cold and commanding. She felt a pang of recognition. She was more afraid of him in this pitch-black room than she had ever been in her entire life. She found the courage to speak eventually. "Giovanni," she whispered. "You have not forgotten me," he implied coldly. "No. How could I?" she replied. She thought, You broke my heart. How could I ever forgive or forget you? She stared at the surrounding darkness. It was so cold in here... "Where's Ash? What have you done with Geneva?" she asked after a few minutes of silence. "Both are safe... unharmed. They are with me now, and have no intention of going back with you." "What did you do to them?" she asked. Her voice was trembling. "It's simple, really," he explained. "I used a few of my Pokemon. It wasn't hard. I darkened them a bit using my dark psychics. Then I summoned them to me. Ash took more persuading, though. Our daughter, Geneva, welcomed me into her life. She needed almost no convincing - just a nudge in the right direction. I gave her three Pokemon, and was the first to let her battle. She fights well; both of our children get their skills from me. Together, we can rule the world. All I need now is you. But the question is: will you come, or no?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tracey and Professor Oak were in a cell. It was made of some kind of alloy. The bars were very thick. "I can't believe they took my Pokemon!" Tracey exclaimed. He was pacing up and down the cell angrily. "How do we get out of here, Professor?" "Hmm... these bars are so interesting! I've never seen anything like them before. They are probably fire resistant and built so the strongest creatures cannot escape. This is fascinating..." Tracey slapped himself in the face and paced back and forth some more, listening to the rest of Professor Oak's rambling. It took fifteen minutes for him to finish. "So, what's your conclusion?" "Tracey, I'm afraid that there is no way out. Let's hope that they won't do anything life-threatening to us," he replied. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ash, Misty, Togetic, Pikachu, and several dozen Rockets of various ranks were assembled in the forest-y area around Viridian City. Ash and Misty were giving instructions to the Rocketeers assembled there. Pikachu was walking up and down the lines making sure all Rockets were in their correct positions and wearing the proper uniform. Togetic was in Misty's arms. It was her secret weapon if things got rough. "We penetrate the outer defenses of the city. That Officer Jenny there is a member of Team Rocket. She will let us in," Ash told them. He turned to Misty, who stepped forward. "Right, Ash," she said, holding up a sheet of paper. "Blue group, you go to the West Side of the city. Reds, you take the South Side. Yellows, you take the East. The Greens have the North. The Gold and Silver squads will surround the city and make sure nobody gets in and out. Everyone else will follow Ash and me," Misty told them. Ash stepped forward. "Make sure you obey your Squad Leader. If you fail, you will have to answer to Giovanni. The results will be disastrous for us if we fail. Let's do this for Team Rocket!" he yelled. Misty looked at the city. "Okay, everyone! Let's move, move, move!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Who are you? Do you know who I am?" Gary Oak asked. He was surrounded by his adoring cheerleaders. "He wants to know who we are," she whispered. "Should we tell him?" he replied. "Let's," she said. "Prepare for trouble!" "Make it double!" "To protect the world from devastation!" "To unite all people within our nation!" "To denounce the evils of truth and love!" "To extend our reach the stars above!" "Jesse." "Brock." "Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!" "Surrender now or prepare to fight!" "Meowth, that's right!" Jesse looked at the terrified girls who were clinging to Gary. She snickered. "We're going to steal his Pokemon and there's nothing you pathetic excuses for girls can do about it!" They started, wailing: "Gary, save me! We're too young to die! You're our only hope!" Brock was fighting with his hormones. It was very hard. He trembled a little under the strain. "Let's see if you do blast off at the speed of light," Gary said arrogantly. "You three are pathetic, especially that idiotic talking Meowth." "Okay, he just made this one personal," all three Rockets said at once, "Let's get him!!!!"
