We join Ash and Pikachu sleeping in a dark, damp, and cold forest. It has been 10 years since Ash had spoken with his mother and his friends. No one knew where he was Professor Oak. Ash had set out to do some training not only for his pokémon but for himself. 11 years ago, Ash had won a pokémon tournament but at the end, Gary Oak decided to ruin Ash's moment of celebrating his victory.

    "We did it Pikachu! We won!"

    "Pika!"

    "Cheater!"

    Everyone looked around to see who said that.  They didn't need to look anymore.  It was Gary Oak.

    "Cheater? How did I cheat, Gary?" Ash asked.

    "You did something to your Pikachu to make it this strong like give it a stimulant or something to make it this powerful," Gary stated.

    "I did nothing to Pikachu except train him..." Ash started.

    "...And gave him something to make him not normal! There is no way a Pikachu can win a battle in 1 minute or less even at level 100! Hmm.....I got an idea. How about you go to the Omega League and compete in it.  If I'm correct, the pokémon there are over level 200 so this should really prove if you did train that rat of yours the 'fair' way because only a pokémon trained without Carbos, HP Plus, and other things like it can do well and beat that league."

    "Gary, taking the league challenge and losing will result in a trainer having their licenses revoked for 2 years.  I don't think that..." Prof. Oak began.

    "...Prof. Oak, I think I am ready for this challenge. I haven't had a decent challenge for about 3 years already. Besides, I think I can handle not training for 2 years if I lose because it will give me a chance to think of a strategy and relax," Ash finished.

    "Okay Ash but this is risky. Also, no one here can travel with you. You can travel with others in that league but not from here because they already know you inside-out and can help you. Traveling with someone new helps both you and your new traveling companion know how the other thinks because most of the skills are too advanced for me to understand."

    "Alright professor. If you don't know a lot about the skills in this league, then is there a professor that can help me there?" asked Ash.

    "Yes Ash, there is. My niece helps trainers that are competing for the first time in the Omega League. Her name is Professor Diane Violet. Give her this note when you meet her. It has some information needed for her to register you in Omega," Prof. Oak stated while giving Ash a folded piece of paper.

    "Okay. Two questions before I pack up to leave. One, what do I need to do to qualify for the league?"

    "You need to earn badges like in all the leagues but this time, you require 16 from Omega."

    "Alright. Two, how long till the league competitions start?"

    "You can earn the badges anytime you want but the competition starts in 15 years. The league wants to give the trainers a good amount of time to train because these battles are going to be to tough for trainers that are starting out."

    "Okay. Thank you Prof. Oak."

    Ash walks over to his friends and his mother to say goodbye.  Once he finish saying his goodbyes, he releases a Espeon and teleports back home to pack and go to Vermilion City to take a ship to a new and strange land and the beginning of a new adventure.

Chapter 2 Preview

    "Ash, are you awake?"

    "Yeah."

    "How come?"

    "Can't sleep because I was thinking of why I even started to participate in the Omega League. What about you, Sophie? Why are you awake?"

    "Too excited to about tomorrow because if I'm correct, we should make it to the first gym and I think we are allowed to do a team battle as in you and me each send a pokémon out and the gym leader can send out 2 or have an assistant be his partner."

    "That's a good thing because that way, we learn to rely and help each other out."

    "Right."

    "Now, go to sleep. We need all the rest we can get."

    "I can't because I'm not comfortable here. Can we please go and look for someplace else to sleep?"

    "I guess...Espeon, go!" Ash released Espeon.

    "Espeon, teleport me and Sophie to a place where there is grass and a good place to sleep."
