Author's note:

I'm SO sorry that I didn't update this fic before. I was busy thinking about my next fic, and I didn't have the time. Plus, my files being accidentilly deleted didn't help much. So FINALLY, Here is the final part in A True Destiny!

TWO DAYS LATER. . . .

As Ash lay in bed, he couldn't help think about Misty. It's been awhile since the two of them spoke, and he hoped nothing was wrong. He wanted to think about happier things. But he just couldn't. Those stupid thoughts of the man in black, Misty, and just about everey other memory of mishaps in his life were super-glued to his mind, and they were NOT going away any time soon. Ash rolled over in his bed and tried yet another time to fall asleep. He wanted, for about the first time in a week, to fall asleep easilly and without hassle., but he just didn't feel tired.
Why is everything going so damn fast? Ash thought to himself. The past week, at least to him, had felt like a soap oprea in high speed. Events were happining so fast, and sometimes he wished things were back to normal.
As Ash shifted yet again, his thoughts slowly rolled back to Misty. The girl with bright, flaming red hair. The girl with a fair complexion and aqua-green eyes. And who could forget the smile. . . Yes, as you might of guessed, Ash has been developing quite a crush on Misty. But Ash, the once very adventourus young boy, who would do anything for a little excitement, was to frightened to tell her. He didn't want to risk his dignity. At least, what he had left of it.
Just when he began to drift asleep, he heard his phone ring loudly. He nearly rolled off the edge of the bed. He reached his right arm out, and picked up the reciver, still lying face down on the bed.
"H-hello?" Ash whispered drearilly. The voice on the other line was a farmillar one, but it was filled with excitement.
"Ash, Is this you? Dear God, Ash, you wouldnt believe what I just found. I was searching through-" Misty was cut short.
"Misty, slow down," said Ash. "What were you searching?" Misty took a deep breath.
"Ash," she said, this time more calmlly. "I found something today that might jog your memory, Ash. It's dated January 14, 1997."
Ash nearly dropped the reciver. 1997. That was when he was seven. The gap in his memory that never was filled. He had to know what it was. He was desperate.
"Misty, I'm comming over."
That was the last thing he heard before he slammed the phone back on the reciver. By that time, the need to sleep slowly began to fade. He was filled with excitement and great fear at the same time. The butterflies in his stomach had turned to rocks. He grabbed his jacket and raced down the stairs. He didn't even worry about the ruckus he was making. His mind was focused on one intent, and one intent only. . . To get to Misty's house as soon as possible.
Twenty minutes later, Ash found himself at the front porch of Misty's house. Thank god he had remembered to bring a flashlight, because it was pitch black outside, and it would've been very difficult to find his way. He holstered his flashlight and pounded on the heaavy oak door. Misty answered almost right away, wearing a surprised expression.
"Misty, let me in." Misty opened the door and motioned him into the sweet-smelling house. "Misty, what do you have to show me?" Ash questioned her. Misty walked over into the center of the living room, where a large pile of papers lie. Misty knealt down and fished out a coffe stained paper, and handed it to Ash. "Look, Ash." Ash glanced over the paper. It was a hospital file. It had his name, as well as his mother's signuture.

Ashton Daniel Ketchum, hospitalized on January 14, 1997, for severe head trauma, and a rare case of memory loss. Minor injuries include broken arm, leg, and fractured coller bone. ROOM 206. . .

Ash could hardly believe it. Memory loss. . . That's why he couldn't remember. All these years looking for an answer. He finally found one. He continued reading,

Under critical care, with his roommate, Misty Sara Waterflower, also hospitalized for memory loss.

Ash's heart almost stopped. He stared at the paper in disbelief. "M-m-misty, your m-m-"
"My roommate. I know Ash. It's unbelievable, but it's true. That paper's official. " Ash was still mezmorized. How could that be? It was IMPOSSIBLE!! completely amazing. And then something caught his eye. A photograph lieing at the pottom of the pile.Ash slowly reached down for it, and gasped at what he saw. A young boy, with short black hair, thin body and brown eyes. Beside him stood a young girl about the same age. She had red hair and aqua-green eyes. She had her arm around him playfully, and they where both laughing hysterically.
Ash was stunned. He was frozen. He could barely believe what picture he just saw. "M-m-m-misty look.. ." Ash handed her the picture. And she gasped.
"It's me!?" Misty exclaimed, stunned. "And you!" Ash stared at the picture with a sort of detatchment. He was hypnotized by the picture in his hand. "We were friends. . . " Ash said, emotionless. And once again, Ash's vision became blurred. He felt his stomach lurch. He no longer had concious contact with reality. He was lost in his thoughts.
In his minds eye, almost as plain as day, he saw a picture. a moving picture. It was him. He had a black t-shirt on, and beside him stood a girl. A girl with flaming red hair, and aqua blue eyes. It was Misty. They were both laughing hystericlly,
as the girl playfully threw her arm around him. and then he heard somthing.. . . almost a metalic click, like somebody tapping
a
steel pot. He snapped out of his trance, looking up at Misty's face. He lie on his back, with Misty towering over him. A look of concern covered her face. "You alright Ash? You blacked out."
said Misty. As everything came back into focus,
he looked around him. He was still in Misty's house. He found the strength to stand, and he lifted himself slowly to his feet. "You alright?"
Misty asked again. "Ya. Fine." Ash said, holding his head. He had a pounding headache. It was clear now. The vision he just had was from the past. It was
the day the picture was shot.. . Speaking of the picture, where was it? Ash looked to his left, and found it lieing on the floor, face down. He picked it up once more and examined it. "Ya scared me Ash," Misty said,
"Thought you had a sesure or something. . " Ash tossed the pictre back on the pile. "Misty, why were our parents keeping this thing a big secret? I mean, was it that important?"
Misty thought a moment. "Well Ash, I don't know. To them, I geuss, it was important." Ash sat down on the loveseat. "Well, it's not important to me. . . It just pisses me off." Ash said with rage. "Can you remember anything?" Misty asked softly. "No, I can't," Ash replied. "I cant remember a thing." Ash felt a mixture of emotions. He was terribly depressed and confused, and yet, at the same time, raging with anger. He looked up at Misty, and saw sadnesss in her beautiful aqua-green eyes. He saw fear. A great feeling of empathy rang through his body. Even though his own emotions raged, he felt like Misty's were more important. Maybe they were. . .Dear god. . .He was so confused. He felt pathetic. "Misty, do you believe in fate?" It was the only question he could think of. Misty sat down beside him. "Well Ash," Misty spoke, "I never really thought about it.. . Do you?"
Ash thought. "I never used to. . .But now, I think I do. Over the past week, I've learned a lot." Misty inched closer to him. "Ash, are you sure you cant remember anything?" Misty questioned again. "Well, only a couple things. I remember, back when I was seven, when I snuck out of the house. . . " It was hard to go on. But he managed to go on. "And I remember a cliff. It was in the back of the woods. I remember falling. And then, I woke up in a hospital.. . . That's all." Ash felt Misty's cold hand rest on top of his. Ash's heart jolted. It was the smallest sign of love, yet to him, it felt like so mush more. And even though her fingers were cold, he felt warmth spread through his body. It was the high-point of his week. He felt wonderful. He felt his strength slowly come back.
Misty inched a little bit closer, and leaned against him tenderly. He now felt his breathing becoming more shallow. His heart raced. He felt like a little child. He looked into her eyes. He saw happiness and love. The traces of the fear were gone. He didn't exactly know what would happen next. His face blushed scarlet. "Ash," She whispered in his ear, "Ever since I saw you, I've had a little crush on you. . "
Ash didn't know what to say.
"I-I did to. . . "Ash whispered back.
He couldn't believe what was happening . Not even in his wildest dreams were situations like right now. It only happened once in a lifetime. . .And it was happening right NOW. She inched even closer to him. Now there was no space between them. He could feel her stomach rising and falling with each precious breath. He could smell her perfume. . .A beautiful smell. It reminds him of roses, in a wide, open, field.
She rested her head against his, her long, flowing locks of hair falling gently upon his face. He closed his eyes tightly. He was trembling nervously. It felt like his head was about to explode.. . . . . .The next thing happened in an instant. He felt her arm wrap around him, like a child hugging her teddy-bear. And with her remaining hand griping his fingers snugly, she leaned in, and pressed her warm lips against his.
It was bliss.
The kiss seemed like it lasted for an eternity. . . Ash's tension rapidly faded. His own arms found his way around her slender waist, deepining the long kiss. When they finaly pulled away, all he could do was stare. And then she finally said what she really felt.
"Ash. . .I love you."
"I love you too Misty."
And they leaned in for another romantic kiss. . .

With arms wide open,
Under the sunlight. . .
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open. . .
