Death’s Weakness- Friendship

Up Into The Leaf Stone’s Tree!
By Golden Pikachu
Part 3

Hey everybody! It’s been while since I’ve worked on my stories, now hasn’t it? Heh.. sorry about that. I’m finally going back to working on this story! (Yeepee!) Oh yea, and when I read my other stories a little while ago, I found that they didn’t show the html code any more!! (Thanks so much to The Jolt Master!!!!!!) That really made my day!! I’ll try not to make any mistakes this time.. I promise. Oh by the way, you may see a difference when it comes to how good my writing from part 2 to this part is since I took a break after part 2 a did “Out Into The World”. And… um… lets see here… oh yea. I just might go over to the museum part of the tower and submit my artwork.. but there’s this big problem. We have two computers. The one I’m using now, (A Windows XP) also pretty much the only one I use since it’s the newest, and the one I’m not using, which is a Windows 95. Our scanner is set up on our Windows 95, so we have to go through resizing it to a smaller size and transferring it to our Windows XP. Well, lets begin the story shall we?

Squirtle kicked open the door to Chansey’s hospital and quickly set Pichu on the table. Hearing the loud noise, Chansey and Celibi came over in a hurry.

“Chansey, Pichu is hurt!” Squirtle said. Chansey carefully looked at the unconscious Pichu. Bruises covered Pichu’s whole body, and Pichu’s fur (Uh… do they have fur? Do they?) was still soaking wet. Water dripped onto the floor with a plop!.

“Don’t worry,” said Chansey. “Pichu will be just fine.” Everyone sighed in relief.

“Do you think I could wake Pichu up with my water gun attack?” Totidile asked. Everyone glared at him. Charmander rolled his eyes.

“I think Pichu is wet enough.” Totidile shrugged.

“It was just a suggestion.”

“Did you guys get the water stone?” Celibi asked.

“Yep.” Replied Squirtle. “It’s right here.” Squirtle held up the water stone. It glimmered in the light.

“Good.” Celibi said. Chikorita sighed and wiped her sweaty forehead.

“That water stone is probably gonna end up to be the hardest of all of them, ‘cause, well, it was hard!” Chikorita said. Celibi shook her head.

“No. That will probably end up being one of the easier ones.” Celibi said.

“WHAT?!” Everybody shouted. Celibi sighed.

“You guys just don’t realize how strong some of these pokemon are that guard the stones.. The stone you’re gonna get next will probably end up being one of the easier ones too. If you ever want to save Pikachu, you’ll have to be one of the best battlers out there. It takes a lot of guts to do this.” Squirtle looked at the ground.

“I don’t care how hard it is…. I’m going to save Pikachu!!” Squirtle said.

“Me too!!” Everyone else said. Celibi smiled. Pichu woke up.

“Huh…. Where am I….? What happened….?” Pichu slowly asked. Squirtle grinned.

“Just look!” Squirtle said. Squirtle showed Pichu the sparkling water stone.

“Yea!! We did it!!!” Pichu cheered.

“So, are all of you ready to get the next stone?” Celibi asked. Everyone nodded. “OK. Your next stone is the leaf stone. It’s located in Ilex Forest, which is near Aleza Town. It’s near the biggest tree in the forest. I’ll fly you over there.” And Celibi did.

*******************************

Pikachu’s friends slowly walked deeper and deeper into Ilex forest. Dead leaves crunched below them as they walked. Only a few rays of sun shone through the branches of the thick trees. They stopped.

“So where did Celibi say this Leaf Stone was?” Asked Charmander.

“Uh…. Near the tallest tree…” Replied Squirtle.

“Biggest.” Corrected Pidgy.

“Tallest, biggest, same thing.” Squirtle said. Everyone looked up, hoping to see the tallest tree. The branches and leaves of other trees blocked their view. There was silence.

“Are we….are we lost…?” Pichu asked. Nobody replied.

Freeeee!

Pidgot!

A bunch of Butterfree and Pidgyotto flew from high up in the trees. Each one picked up one of Pikachu’s friends and flew up high into the sky.

“Hey! Let me down!!” Shouted Pichu, who was being carried by a Butterfree. The Butterfree ignored Pichu. “Fine then… Pi…….CHU!!!” Pichu did its thundershock attack. Since Butterfree are half flying types, it knocked Butterfree out. Pichu started falling.

And falling.
And falling.
And falling….

Air zoomed past Pichu, as if climbing a ladder in a race, while Pichu fell off the ladder and was falling… and the air didn’t care. (Hmm… air, care. Air, care. I’m a poet and I didn’t know it!) Pichu closed her eyes. She regretted attacking that Butterfree. Suddenly, a Pidgyotto swooped right below Pichu, and Pichu fell onto the Pidgyotto’s back with an umph!. Pichu opened her eyes. She could still feel air rushing past her, but this time the air wasn’t going up. Pichu grasped onto Pidgyotto’s feathers. Everyone continued flying. But where? Pikachu’s friends soon found out.

Pikachu’s friends were dropped off at a clearing in the forest. Upon them, was the biggest and tallest tree they had ever seen in their life.

“This must be it…” Rattata said. (I don’t know why I just noticed, but typing “rattata” is fun…!)

“Yup.” Squirtle said. They all stepped forward. Five Bellosom popped out from nowhere.

Bell! Bell! Bellosom!!

All of the Bellosom started dancing. Oddish and Gloom popped out from the left and right sides of the Bellosom and started dancing too.

Od! Od! Oddish! Od! Od! Oddish!” (Hehe it’s like their saying “Odd, odd, Oddish!” Then I would nod and say “Yes indeed…”)

Gloom, gloom, gloom!! Gloom, gloom, gloom!!

In the little lake, water pokemon started jumping out and into the water, dancing too. Even more grass pokemon joined the dance. Pikachu’s friends were getting a real bad headache. (And I would too.) Finally, Squirtle had had enough.

“WHERE IS THE LEAF STONE?!” Squirtle shouted. All of the dancing suddenly stopped. All of the pokemon disappeared except for the Bellosom. The bellosom in the middle stepped forward.

“The leaf stone, is up there.” Bellosom pointed to the very top of the tree. Pikachu’s friends saw something green sparkling in the sunlight up there. The leaf stone. Squirtle, who, as you know, was Pikachu’s best friend, stepped forward.

“We’re gonna get that leaf stone no matter what it takes!! We’ll battle you, if that’s what we have to do to get it!” Squirtle said.

“No. You do not have to battle us to get it. Just climb up there and get it yourself.” Bellosom said. Everyone stared. Charmander laughed.

“Boy, this is gonna be the easiest stone ever to get!” Charmander said.

“Here, let me fly up there so we can get it quicker.” Pidgy said. But when Pidgy took flight, the middle Bellosom used her vines to hold Pidgy down.

“Hey!!” Shouted Cyndiquil. Cyndiquil stepped forward to attack the Bellosom. The four other Bellosom and plus other grass pokemon shot out their vines to do the same to the others. There was nothing they could do. Chikorita closed her eyes, ready for some vines to wrap around her and squeeze her like an Arbok would. (I have no idea why I’m mentioning this, but Ekans spelling backwards is Snake, and if you change the K to a C in Arbok, Arbok spelled backwards would be Cobra. Interesting huh?) But she felt nothing. She opened her eyes. Everyone else was struggling against the vines. But no vines had come for her.

“Don’t you dare try to save your little friends, or else you all shall die. Though, you might die in the process of getting the leaf stone anyways.” Bellosom calmly said. Chikorita sighed. She didn’t want her friends to die because of her.

“What do I need to do to get the leaf stone?” Chikorita asked.

“Like I said before, all you have to do is climb up that tree and just take it.” Bellosom replied.

“Why are you only letting me try to get it, and not the others?” Chikorita asked.

“Because only grass pokemon, and sometimes bug pokemon can go into that tree. The tree is sacred.” Bellosom replied.

“Oh.” Chikorita said. I’m not surprised. The tree is so big, it must be hundreds of years old! Chikorita thought.

“Well, what are you waiting for? Try to get the leaf stone. You can’t back down now.” Bellosom narrowed her eyes. “Or else…”

“Or else what?” Chikorita asked. Bellosom ignored Chikorita.

“Oh yea, and if you fail, you all shall die.”

Chikorita looked up at the tall tree. It was a long way up. The only way she would be able to climb it by using her vines. She sighed. There was 75% chance all of them would die, since there were four things that would end up happening, and three of those things happened, they would end up dieing. This would be tough. (I know what your thinking. Well, at least, I think I know what your thinking. Your probably thinking ‘Math, math, math, math. Get on with the story and let Chikorita climb up the tree!’ Well I’m sorry but there’s a lot to type before Chikorita even touches the tree. Luckily, in the next sentence, Chikorita will start the climb. [scattered applause])

Chikorita unleashed her vines and started up the tree. For a while nothing really happened, and Chikorita wondered if it was going to stay this way. Little did she know, it wasn’t. A Caterpie crawled onto a branch in front of Chikorita.

“A wimpy Caterpie? Is that all this tree’s got for defense?” Chikorita said, rolling her eyes. She easily knocked out the Caterpie. About thirty other Caterpie came out, mad at Chikorita for knocking out their buddy. They all used their string shot attack. Since there were so many, Chikorita could not dodge the attack. Soon Chikorita was wrapped up in whatever kind of substance Caterpie use for their string shot attack except for her head. She could not move. A Beedrill flew out and got ready to attack Chikorita. “I’ve got to do something! And quick! But what?” Chikorita asked out loud to herself.

“Absolutely nothing!” The Beedrill sneered.

“That’s not exactly what I was thinking of… but this is!!” Chikorita used the large leaf on top of her head for a cut attack, and cut all the string used for the string shot attack loose. Chikorita quickly continued climbing up the tree, dodging the Beedrill’s attacks. Now four Butterfree approached Chikorita and sent out their sleep powder. “Oh no! If I get caught breathing in that powder, I’ll never get the leaf stone!” Chikorita held her breath as she went through the powder. It would be a little while until she would be able to take a breath, and her lungs where very hungry for air. If she held her breath any longer she would suffocate! Chikorita spun the large leaf on her head around and around, blowing the sleep powder away. Now she could breathe!

Soon the leaf stone was in sight. She was almost there! But Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree, Weedil, Kakuna, Beedrill, Spinarak, and Scyther blocked her way. Chikorita took a deep breath. Will I be able to use my solar beam attack in time? It takes a little bit of time for all of the energy I need to build up! Chikorita thought. Chikorita looked up at the sky. There wasn’t a single cloud in sight and the sun was shining. That’s it!! Chikorita thought. Chikorita absorbed the sun’s energy and unleashed all the power in a huge solar beam attack at all of the pokemon in her way, knocking them out.

Chikorita reached the top and carefully picked up the leaf stone. “I did it!” Chikorita cheered. She felt the leaf stone slip threw her hands…(paws?) and off the tree. It was falling! When it hit the ground it would break! “Noooo!” Shouted Chikorita. Chikorita jumped off the tree. Air rushing past her, she tried to fall as quickly as possible so the she could get the leaf stone. “Come on…” Chikorita finally got the stone. “Yes!” Chikorita looked down. Before she could scream, she crashed into the ground and her world went black.

Hehe did you like it? It leaves you wondering if Chikorita died or not doesn’t it? Well, you’ll have to wait for the next part to find out!!
