Disclaimer: I don’t own Pokemon, except for the ones I make up which anyone can use. Mythos League Part One: It’s Thyme Green Hawk 77 I sat in the lobby of Prof. Cypress’ lab in Thoth city, which was a part of the newest league, the Mythos League. I was waiting to be allowed to choose my fist Pokemon. I sat waiting with my best friend Joey. Joey sat next to me, running his fingers through his scraggly blond hair and tapping his feet. Soon the Professor walked in and told us, “Come on in, Hawk I’ve got everything ready. Oh, you too Joey.” He sounded nervous, but I couldn’t blame him, after all he had only gotten the job this month so this was his first time giving new trainers starter Pokemon. Inside of the room there were three separate cases each holding one of the Mythos league starti ng Pokemon. The first case held a small bright red cobra with scaly wings instead of a hood. It h ad patterns in yellow and green on its stomach; it also gave of heat from its body and could breathe fire. It was a Wadjet, a combination of Poison, Flying and Fire types. It lay sunning itself on a flat rock as Joey stared at it enthralled. Joey loved reptiles and always wanted to get a Wadjet. I looked in the next case, and saw a small squid floating in the water; it was black as night and had twenty legs under it. It had a row of spines protruding from its back that gave of a kind of bluish glow in the light. I recognized it as the Kraken a Dark/Water type that was famous for attacking swimmers. It seemed to glare at everything including its food. I sighed I had thought about getting a Kraken but this one seemed be nasty that I changed my mind. Joey was playing with the Wadjet and talking to the Prof. about its evolutions. I walked to the last case and saw inside, a small green bird almost like a Pidgey, except it had lines of leaves trailing down its back; it had a small line of vines that trailed behind it like a tail. I noticed that its head was not like a Pidgey’s. The beak was longer, the head was set on a longer neck, and it had strange eyes that glowed green. I couldn’t recognize it and asked the Prof. what it was. “It’s Thyme, the one of the first three type Pokemon ever. It’s Flying, Grass, and Psychic.” The small bird began to glow purple, and suddenly, the glass case shattered. It flew over to me and a voice in my mind said, “Will you be my trainer?” I just nodded, to stunned to speak, “What’s wrong Hawk?” asked Cypress. “It’s telepathic!” I replied. “It is!” The Prof. sounded shocked, “You could understand it?” “Yes,” “Let me write this down,” he scrambled off to get some thing to write with. Joey walked over and asked, “So you’re taking that one,” he said pointing to Thyme. “Ya, he’s telepathic too.” “Really?” Joey asked wide eyed as the Prof. came back in. After writing down some stuff on a sheet of paper he handed me and Joey our gear, and than asked me to study Thyme when I was on my journey. Suddenly, a huge explosion shook the lab dropping pieces of equipment everywhere. The Prof. was knocked out when the door fell in on top of him. A man in black suits stormed in and said, “Give us all of your Pokemon fools, or face Team Rockets might!” I noticed that he had a pink R on the front of his shirt. He rushed over to the Kraken and stuck it in a Pokeball. Joey yelled out to his Wadjet, “Wadjet use your Poison Spit attack!” “Waaaad!” it hissed as it began to spit out small balls of green putrid liquid that began to hit the Rocket. The fat Rocket who had stolen the Kraken released it and yelled, “Water Gun Kraken.” Kra Kraken!” it bubbled, shooting out a stream of water at Wadjet. Wadjet began to swoon but I yelled out to Thyme, “Thyme, help Wadjet!” “Will do.” He replied telepathically. Thyme’s body began to glow green as he prepared himself for his attack. “Dark Spine, Kraken!” Yelled out the fat Rocket, but it was too late. A beam of purple energy surrounded by whirling leaves smashed into the Kraken. The purple beam did barely any damage but the leaves cut deep into the Kraken. It was still alive though, until Wadjet used it’s scaly wings to fly over and then bit down on the Kraken with all his might, injecting it’s venom into the Pokemon. The rocket began cursing as he recalled the Kraken and ran. “I’ll get your Pokemon soon enough!” he yelled as he ran away into the mist. End of Part One
