The Outcast Part 2 General Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, nor will I ever own Pokemon for a million years. Note: sorry about the confusion between Ivy and Elm. If I accidentally wrote Ivy instead of Elm in this one, ignore it. Same goes for the last episode. Sorry about that folks. So from last we left off, Isaac sees a fallen Seviper, but he can't pick it up. He remembers a pokeball that he got from Professor Elm, since he wasn't able to get a starter. That pokeball would be the only way to safely bring Seviper to the lab where it could be healed. Action! "But what if the Pokemon belongs to someone else? It obviously does because there'd be no way for it to show up here...oh well this is the only hope it's got," Isaac reluctantly threw the ball. Since Seviper was partially eaten ((very partially)) it didn't give any resistance at all. Isaac stared blankly at the ball, realizing that he caught his first Pokemon, without getting a starter. A chirp of a Spearow got him back to his senses. "Oh my goodness! I need to get this snake to Elm now!" Isaac took off towards the laboratory. After running for some time, Isaac pounded furiously at the door of Professor Elm's lab. "Open up! Open up now! PLEASE!! Come on open up! Where the heck are you?!?" Isaac frantically called. Isaac accidentally knocked on Elm's chest after the Professor opened the door. "OW! You know, if you'd give me time to at least open this door before getting on my case..." grumbled an upset professor. "Professor," Isaac said, not bothering to catch a breath. "I found this snake thingy and it was damaged a lot by a group of Houndour but I don't know what it is! What do I do? Help it! Help it! Please! I caught it with the pokeball you gave me but you just gotta help it!" since Isaac didn't catch some oxygen before saying that really quickly, he passed out...right in Professor Ivy's feet. "Huuuh" the sound of escaping air went through Isaac's throat. All the Professor saw was a fist slamming into his chest, and a boy saying some stuff really fast, then passing out. However, Elm was able to catch a few keywords like "snake thingy" and "Damaged by a group of Houndour." He reached over to pick up the only pokeball on Isaac's belt, but Isaac's eyes shot open (he chose that particular moment to wake up) and-- "WHOA! ROBBER!! THAT'S MINE!!! Oh. Sorry." Isaac jumped to his feet, and then blushed feverishly. "What was that all about?" Professor grumbled to himself. **** The Seviper was released from its ball, but it was still knocked out. "My, the Houndour's must've been REALLY hungry for this one. Hmm...I don't know what this particular breed is, I'll research that later. The injuries this snake suffers at the moment are deep cuts, a small fracture and some punctures on its skin. Nothing I can't handle," the Professor informed Isaac. "Phew, thanks. By the way...who do you think this belongs to?" Isaac inquired. "Well, I'm assuming this snake was brought in from Houen, but snakes aren't meant for long migrations like this one SHOULD have encountered. The only way it could've got here is if it were abandoned," "Abandoned?" "Abandoned." "Well doesn't the law say that any trainer can catch and raise an abandoned Pokemon?" Isaac asked hopefully. "Yes, but I'll have to make sure it was indeed abandoned, and find out the species this one is in" Elm said. "Well, get working!" Isaac said matter-of-factly. "Patience, we have to heal this viper first." **** After a few hours of squirming in his seat, the professor came out to talk to Isaac. "This breed is called a Seviper, found only in the Houen region. It used to belong to Greg Bonnie, but he informed the League that he abandoned Seviper, due to weakness in battle. The Seviper's level is level 7." The Professor said. 'Wow, this guy talks a lot. Come on; tell me I can keep it!' Isaac thought to himself. His eyes pleaded with Ivy's, imitating Bambi eyes. "Most Seviper's aren't usually this weak when they are caught, unless they're infants. Obviously, this was caught at a young age. Greg was not able to train this Pokemon properly, therefore placing 132nd in the Houen tournament." 'Blah blah blah, I can keep it! I can keep it right? Please?' He made his eyes look like they were pleading more. "Sevipers are a poison-type Pokemon, and can learn attacks unique to the Johto region." This caught Isaac's attention, but only momentarily. "The attacks it knows right now are wrap and lick, mediocre attacks. However, since hardly anyone knows of this kind, I'm sure you can be quite intimidating" 'How long can he go on? You know, if his pokedexes had even half the info he's telling me...' "Now, to the part I'm sure you'll enjoy" That caught Isaac's attention. His eyes gleamed with delight. 'Come on; say those words. I can keep it! Come on!! I can keep it!' "This Pokemon has a 33% chance of recovering from a status affliction per turn" Isaac nearly choked at what the Professor said. So what if it could recover from poisoning or burns? He wanted the Pokemon...NOW. Finally, Isaac couldn't stand it anymore. Before the Professor could say another word, Isaac spoke up. "Excuse me, Professor? With all due respect, WHY are you telling me this?" Isaac asked as nicely as he could. Elm smiled. "I want to make sure you know all you can about Sevipers...seeing you're going to start your journey with this one." Isaac leapt with joy. Then he realized the Professor had been playing him all along. "That was not cool," Isaac said, as coldly as he could. But he was too overjoyed to keep it up too long. Before long, both the professor and Isaac were laughing, tears welling up in their eyes, their face as purple as the fangs of Isaac's new Pokemon. "But I'm afraid you'll have to wait for a few days for Seviper to completely recover," Elm said in a stern voice. "Ok, I'll live. Those few days should give me time to pack up, say goodbye and use a decent toilet for the last time," Isaac said with enthusiasm. "Good, come back to me on Friday, and you'll be registered and Seviper'll be ready to go," Elm smiled. Today was Wednesday. Isaac wondered if he could wait that long. He was an only child, with a mother and a father. It would be hard to say goodbye, since he was never away from them for more than two weeks. Still, he was looking forward to it. "MOM MOM MOM MOM MOM!! DAD DAD!!!!!" Isaac screamed, even though he was still a good block and a half away from his home. It was obvious he was drawing attention, but he didn't care. Isaac felt like he was on top of the world. When he finally reached his house, he leaned one hand against the wall, gasping for air. He didn't want to pass out on someone like he did last time. "Whoa there son, what happened?" his dad asked. "I found this Pokemon that's only in the Houen region! It was abandoned, so I get to keep it and I'll be able to start on my journey for once!" Isaac said excitedly. His dad seemed enthusiastic about it too. Ever since Elm did the Pokemon auction thing, his dad had been furious. Isaac's dad wanted him to start his journey, and he sure as heck didn't want money to keep his son from it. Isaac's dad was a muscular man, with bulky arms. He had brown hair and a mustache that was kept short. Isaac's house was white, with a red tile roof, a regular house in the suburbs of New Bark Town. "What's all the commotion out here?" Isaac's mom stepped out. She also had brown hair and brown eyes, with a slim body and always had a smile on her. Isaac's dad explained everything, and his mother seemed to understand. "We're going to miss you son," His father said. "Oh don't worry, you don't have to miss me yet. I'm gonna have to wait until Friday anyways," Isaac said. "Friday? Why Friday?" Isaac explained the whole Houndour situation and how the Seviper was almost killed. "Houndours? In New Bark Town? Aren't they normally in Saffron?" Isaac's father thought in his deep booming voice. "O well. It doesn't matter...since I'm gonna be a Pokemon MASTER!!" Isaac said, doing his silly victory sign that nobody got nor accepted. "Oh about those high expectations...look kid, I know you really want to be a master and like everyone else you set those high standards. And thanks to the media, the League makes it sound like you could become a master at anytime, and everyone has a good chance. Well, the League is wrong. Not everyone will become a Pokemon master, heck...not even a tenth get past the filter rounds before the actually tournament." His father said as soft as he could. Isaac's eyes dropped. "Does that mean I can't become a master?" he said, with sadness covering his eyes. "Good Lord, quit giving me those baby eyes. I'm not saying you can't become a master, I'm saying don't be too crushed IF IF IF IF you don't get it ok? Ok. Now to pack your things." Isaac and his father spent the next few hours packing the things he'd need for his journey. "Remember, when you go somewhere for a long long time, and you have to WALK the whole way, you'd better pack light." His father had said. Isaac packed a small pot for boiling water, some food, a couple of wads of money, five extra pokeballs, a photo of their family, a tent, sleeping bags and some extra clothes, all in one bag. Isaac beamed proudly at how little he thought packed, but he was in for a surprise. When he lifted the pack on his shoulders, it felt like he had an extra twenty pounds added to him. ((Which was approximately how much was added onto him, give or take ten pounds)) "Oof, this is gonna take some getting used to," he said, eyes bugged at his dad. "HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahaha...oh oops sorry. Yeah of course. Sure sure sure it'll take a while, but after a couple weeks it should be normal. HARUMPH" Thursday seemed like an eternity for Isaac. Desperate to find something to do, he went over to Mike's, his friend, house to brag about Seviper. When he went there, Mike already took the spot on bragging. Like Isaac, Mike wasn't as loaded with money like the preppy rich kids were, so he didn't get a starter. Many, many suburban residents hated this new system, but that was the only thing Elm could do for now, since so many people crowded New Bark Town's streets. "Guess what Isaac?!? I got a Pokemon, and you DON'T!!" Mike could be one of those kids that are really annoying, but they're also nice to you at the same time. "Look at this here Sandshrew!" He threw his pokeball, and out comes a yellow colored mouse-like Sandshrew. "HA! Oh yeah? Well I got a Seviper!" Isaac boasted. He lavished the look of confusion on Mike's face. "What's that?" "A snake." "Prove it." "I can't, it's with Elm." Isaac felt stupid for saying that, since Mike would never believe it until he saw it for himself. Until then, he'd have to put up with Mike, then show that kid who's boss. "By the way, nice name you came up with. It has a good tone to it, making it sound evil." Mike joked around. They hung out for the rest of the day, kicking back, watching TV, going around town watching Mike show off his Sandshrew...stuff like that. It was good to kill time, and kill time they did. Before Isaac knew it, it was getting dark. He said his goodbyes and went home. He could barely sleep. To Be Continued. Reviews go to Gotrice6321@hotmail.com. That's part II, part 3 coming up soon.
