The Outcast. Part 4 General Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon. Pokemon belongs to Nintendo, Game Freak, etc. Summary of Part 3: Isaac and Mike finally leave New Bark Town, and after an issue regarding Raticate dung, ((that took too much space in this fanfic)) and Mike catches the Raticate. Onto Part 4 After catching that Raticate, and cleaning Blade up a bit, Isaac and Mike finally broke through the bug-infested forest and out into a large field, probably about ten football fields in size. "Whoa, this place is HUGE! Not a tree for a million miles, and the grass is waist deep, perfect for catching Pokemon!" Mike exclaimed. Isaac, being the alert one ((unlike Mike)) scanned the area, hoping to see a Beedrill or a Pidgeotto. In this area, those two were probably the strongest he'd find for now. As if nature read his mine, there was a Beedrill, chasing a poor Paras. "O my goodness, my dream as come true," Isaac said. Totally betraying his alert personality, he hastily called out Fang. Earlier, while walking through the woods, Isaac had explained the whole name thing, not wanting to be like Mike. "Go! Fang! Crush that overgrown hornet!" Isaac said. "HISSS!! SSSeviper!!" Like I said, Isaac forgot to be alert, and didn't notice a huge swarm of Beedrill behind the one he was going for. Mike, however, decided to betray his dense and often slow mind and noticed the all too large group of Beedrill. "Isaac! There's a swarm! Run for it!" Mike cried out. Isaac suddenly saw the danger, and ran for his life. "WAUGH! Fang! Return!! Run for it!!" The annoyed Beedrill swarm started pursuing Mike and Isaac. A lake appeared up ahead, and the only choice the two had was to jump in. "Take a deep breath! GO!!" SPLASH The Beedrill gave up, and the two swam to the other side of the lake, which wasn't very far. "What lake is this? I don't remember seeing this on the map..." Isaac thought aloud. "POLI!! POLIWAG!!" Isaac's head snapped in the direction the noise came from. It was a Poliwag. Isaac thought about catching this for a second, then decided not to. Poliwraths weren't worth the trouble of buying expensive water stones, they're stats weren't good enough. Isaac was being picky. However, it would make good practice. "Go! Fang!" "HISSSSS!! SSSeviper!" "Fang! Can you use a bite yet?" Isaac asked hopefully. Seviper shook his head no. "Oh well, WRAP ATTACK! NOW!" Seviper wrapped its huge body around Poliwag. Poliwag countered with a Bubble attack, but Seviper only wrapped harder. "Lick! Now!" Fang licked the Poliwag, causing paralysis. Every muscle in Poliwag's body tensed up, and it couldn't move. "Good! Now! Use your..." Isaac was interrupted when Seviper suddenly bit down on Poliwag's body with its huge fangs, giving the Dark effect as well as injecting poison. "That's the way to do it! BITE!" Seviper bit down harder on the poor Poliwag, and soon the tadpole fainted. "Whoa, your Seviper got a lot of experience from that one battle. Whoa..." Mike was stunned at how quickly and how well Seviper was responding. And of course, Isaac was as proud as heck that his Seviper was doing so well. They walked on, and after a few hours, reached Cherrygrove city. Meanwhile... It was just another day at the Anti-Crime Association. Their CEO, Nancy, furiously typed on the keyboard in her office. They were located at one of the tall skyscrapers in Cherrygrove, and they were devoted to dishing out Team Rocket members. They had already uncovered ten of their bases, and Nancy was working on number 11. The huge computer, covering most of the wall, beeped. A circle pinpointed the exact location of the newest Rocket base. "YES! Score!" Nancy said to herself. Suddenly, the computer shut down. Then, the lights went out. "OPEN UP!" yelled a man at the other side of Nancy's office. It was a Rocket; Nancy knew it. The lights wouldn't go off and the computer wouldn't shut down unless someone else was interfering. Her office was too high to jump off of. "Crap, not good." "I said open up, or we'll knock the door down!" "It's too high to jump off, what to do," Nancy bit her lips furiously. "I guess I'll have to battle my way out. Go! Tauros! Go! Charmeleon! Go! Graveller! Her three loyal Pokemon materialized in her office. She knew that the Rockets would outnumber her, but Nancy was confident that she'd be at least able to get past them. BAM! The door was ripped from its hinges, and three Rockets appeared. They loaded their pistols, and drew a bead on Nancy's head. "Oh crap, I didn't think they'd have guns! Return! Tauros and Charmeleon! Graveller, stay use your Explosion!" "GRAV!" BOOM A loud explosion caused paper and smoke to fly everywhere, shrouding the view of Nancy. "Return! Graveller!" Nancy said from within the smoke. The Rockets immediately started shooting at the direction they heard the noise, but the bullets only hit the wall. When the smoke finally cleared, Nancy was nowhere in sight. One of the Rockets picked up a walky-talky from his back pocket. "Sir, subject A has gotten away, requesting permission to raid the town." He said into the black object. "Request granted. Go for it, fifty Rockets to aid you. And Nancy must be found at all costs!" the walky-talky replied. "Sir, I ask that you search through other towns, she could be anywhere by the time our reinforcements arrive." "Affirmative, New Bark Town and Azalea town shall be raided." The voice was familiar, Giovanni. "Find Nancy! Too many bases have been lost! She must be eliminated, but please...try to find her alive at all costs." "Sir." Back to Isaac "All right! Cherrygrove City! It took long enough..." Isaac said. He was rudely interrupted by frantic screams of terror. "NOT THEM AGAIN! SOMEBODY! HELP! HELP!!!" One random lady on the street yelled. Isaac looked at his surroundings. He saw several men, head to toe in black except for a blood red "R" on the front of their shirt. He had to deal with those people before, Team Rocket. They had tried to steal his pet Growlithe, but Growlithe ran away before the Rockets could capture it, never to be seen again. "ERRGGHH! I'll have Giovanni's head on a silver platter, served to all the Pokemon he's stole in his life!" Isaac said, fuming with anger. "Whoa man, chill. First, let's run considering the whole city is being bombed." Mike said. He was right; the Rockets were dropping bombs from hot-air balloons and from the ground as well. House after house collapsed. "To the Pokemon Center!" Someone yelled. 'Fools,' Isaac thought to himself, 'That's where the Rockets attack the most.' "Let's run away from the center, towards the woods." Isaac suggested. "Trust me, I've dealt with Rockets several times before this, I know how they attack." "Wait! Take me with you! My Graveller is hurt, and the Rockets are after me! I need time to revive my Pokemon!" A brown-haired woman, in her mid-twenties with green eyes and around 5'1, ran up to them. "The name's Nancy, CEO of the Anti- Crime Association." Isaac's eyes beamed at those mere words. "Sure, we'll help you. After all, I hate Giovanni's guts." Isaac offered. "Thanks, I know just the place to go to...the Ilex Forest! Then, my Graveller should recover by then. You two are free to attack the Rockets with whatever Pokemon you may have as well. But for now, my strongest Pokemon needs a breather, let's go." The three ran for a bit, and approached a dark gloomy forest. It was littered with bugs ((like the last forest Isaac and Mike had been through)) and they sat on a rotting log, catching their breaths. "My name's Isaac, and my traveling buddy is Mike," Isaac said, after he cooled off a bit. "Pleased to meet you. I think Graveller should be good by now, and no Rockets seem to be approaching, so we'll help you out." "Yeah, and I can train the Raticate I got!" Mike said enthusiastically. "Ok, let's go back." **** Cherrygrove City was in ruins, with nearly every building on fire. Nothing was left untouched, everyone had at least a cut mark. Others had it much worse with lost arms and even a few died at the explosions. The Rockets swarmed into the city, looking for their main target: Nancy. Several other towns had been raided as well, and they were left in the same condition as Cherrygrove. The League was trying their best to act as quickly as possible, but not enough trainers could be mustered in time. Nancy, Isaac and Mike approached the large city, but three Rockets confronted them. "Hey! That's our target! After her!" They cried out. "Charge!" The three Rockets released their Pokemon. "Go! Pidgeotto! Go! Fearow! Go! Rattata!" the three Pokemon glared at Isaac and company. "Go! Fang! Go! Raticate! Go! Tauros!" Nancy, Isaac and Mike countered back. Nancy stared in fascination ((as did the other Rockets)) at Seviper, but for now they had to fight. "Fang! Get Fearow!" Isaac cried out. "Raticate! Get Rattata!" Mike ordered. "Tauros! Take on Pidgeotto!" Nancy shouted. The Rocket's Pokemon were inexperienced, and quickly were put into submission. The Rockets ran off. "Let's get outta here, I have a car. We'll drive to Violet. For some reason it wasn't attacked. I think Giovanni just forgot that the town was there or something." The trio drove to Violet, which took about an hour and a half. There were several trainers there, ready to push out the Rockets in the surrounding towns. "I'll train in the forests," Mike said. "I think there's a lake up ahead, I'll teach Fang to swim and boost it's levels too." Isaac said. "I'll get a room for us in the Pokemon Center, if it's ok with you guys. I have no where to go right now...I mean I totally understand if you don't want to, no hard feelings..." "No, it's fine. You can stay with us." Isaac said. "Thanks." So now, Isaac and Mike got a new traveling buddy, Nancy. Isaac went around the lake by Violet City, while Mike trained in the forests bordering the city. The Rockets were easily pushed out, and their target wasn't found. ((Thanks to Isaac and Mike...=) )) The sun had set, and Nancy was at the Pokemon Center lobby, starting to get worried. Isaac and Matt had been gone for almost seven hours, training their Pokemon. Isaac seemed to have a unique Pokemon, one that she never saw before. She'd have to ask him about that one. However, Nancy had to worry about other issues. Her office was in total ruin, along with the building that the office was in. Nancy's equipment ((worth 1000s of dollars)) was blown up when Graveller exploded, and Team Rocket was after her, though it wasn't likely she'd be caught. Nancy was also in the League Committee, which required her to train her three Pokemon well, since the League was needed often during Rocket raids. She was behind in her training, and Charmeleon wasn't evolving. Nancy didn't notice how much time went by. Finally at 10:00, eight hours after they left, a sweaty Isaac and an exhausted Mike appeared at the door of the Pokemon Center. "Where have you guys been? You were gone for eight hours!" Isaac and Mike both shrugged. "Training" they replied in unison. "Yeah, Fang's been doing really well. I taught it how to swim, and he fished Magikarp...straight from their own homes! It grew at least ten levels, since it knows Poison Tail. I used that technique on several Goldeen and Poliwags. Then we went picking berries and ate those." Isaac beamed with pride for his newest ((and only)) Pokemon. "Blade and Raticate are also doing really well. I trained them at the same time, and they knocked down several branches. Blade knows how to dig quickly, and can use swift attack! Raticate learned hyper fang too!" "Well I'm glad you guys had fun, but next time, give me a call or come check in with me ok?" Nancy asked. The two were too hyped up to challenge that and they nodded. "Good. I think your Pokemon need a rest, and you guys need a dinner. Let's go out tonight," Nancy offered. "Deal!" **** The three went to a nice restaurant. Isaac had a steak, Mike had ribs and Nancy had a hamburger. Nancy took care of the bill, since she was pretty much set for life. Later, after they ate and picked up their revived Pokemon, the three checked in their rooms. Isaac and Mike were going to challenge Falkner, since the Rocket threat was gone and the gym was reopened. **** "Go! Fang! Poison Tail attack now!" Isaac said. Mike had already battled Falkner with Raticate, and earned the badge. It was Isaac's turn, and it was a two on one since Isaac hadn't caught any new Pokemon yet. Isaac was battling Falkner's first Pokemon. "SSSeviper!" The snake obeyed, and whacked Falkner's Pidgeotto on its left wing. The bird cringed in pain, and then flew in circles. Soon, the poison that Fang injected had taken over, and Pidgeotto couldn't fly. "Pidgeotto! Sand Attack!" "PRR! PRR-oog." The poison had completely taken over, crippling the falcon. Pidgeotto fainted. "ARGH! Return!" Falkner's first Pokemon materialized into red, and went into its pokeball. "Heh. You think you're so tough kid. Just watch this, I bet you've never seen this Pokemon in real life before! Go! Fearow!" "RAAA!!" Fearow materialized on the gym floor, which was mostly sand with an occasional rock. "Fang! Wrap attack now!" Fang leapt to the air, and wrapped its entire body around the Fearow. "RAA!!" Fearow was starting to choke. Its growl was weakening by the second. "Well, I'll bet you're not ready for this! Change gym terrain!" Falkner gave an arrogant smile. "What? Can you do that? Is that even legal?" "It is in this gym!" The floor on the desert like gym opened up, and a lake soon replaced it. Seviper was taken by surprise and fell in. "HISS!!" It released Fearow, which resumed flying again. "Crud. Seviper can swim, but not that long! Oh looky there! An island! Fang! Go to the island and dry off for a second! Then Poison Tail!" The serpent did as it was told, but Fearow dove in for a Peck attack. "This isn't fair," Isaac thought to himself. "According to the rules, the gym leader can do anything he needs to win the battle, I'm sorry Isaac but he got you there," Nancy said. Isaac growled at the cheapness Falkner was playing at. "Oh, and to add a little more fun...there are dozens of Poliwag in that lake, and they'll shoot bursts of water gun at your funny looking snake. That's legal too, since I won't tell them when to. The Poliwag will use Water Gun when they feel like it." Falkner grinned a sickening smile. "He's on thin ice, but it's legal," Nancy said with dismay in her voice. "However, the trainer can use any outside help he needs, as long as he remains in the gym. That means I can give you tips!" Falkner winced at that last comment. "Isaac! I've seen his ways before! I don't blame him; bird types are just naturally weak! Take out the Poliwags first! They're your real threat!" "You heard him Fang, take them out! Like we trained yesterday!" Fang expertly dove into the water, throwing out Poliwag after Poliwag. They hit the walls, unable to go back into the water. "NOO! It can't be! Fearow! Drill Peck!" "Dive into the water at the last minute!" "NOOO!" Fang dove into the water, and Fearow couldn't stop itself. It fell in as well. "Excellent! Now Fang, wrap the Fearow underwater, but keep your head up! You'll eventually drown the bird!" Isaac smiled. Falkner looked terrified. "NO! Stop! I call this battle done! You win! I can't see my first Pokemon drown like that! Fearow, return! Here's the Zephyr badge!" Isaac had won his first badge. "ALLL RIGHT!!" He did his little victory sign. "Wow, you're an above-average trainer. I only pull that terrain stunt when I absolutely have to." Falkner said. "Hey! Why didn't you use it on me?!?" Mike demanded. "Heh." To Be Continued...
