The Outcast Part 8 General Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon. A loud clattering of a helicopter filled the air on top of the trainers. "The League reinforcements arrived," Nancy said. Up ahead, there was a small clearing, where the helicopter landed. Ten League members came spilled out of the black helicopter. They wore sunglasses, and black cargo pants. They had a green t-shirt with a blue "L" on it, standing for League. The ten League Officers each pulled out small, shiny, metal objects. Isaac was startled when he saw that the metal objects were black pistols. "They have guns?" Isaac asked, surprised. "Of course, how else do you think we'll be able to get Giovanni to cooperate?" Nancy responded. She seemed as if the guns were just business as usual. Guns were probably business as usual too. Meanwhile... Lance looked with disappointment at the field report, seeing how miserably the League lost to Team Rocket. He honestly thought they could do better. Now, Team Rocket was the true superpower. He was in the League HQ, in his private office. Lance was ready to talk to the Elite Four about this, but several large explosions took up the empty sound. BOOM BOOM BOOM "What on Earth?" Lance thought to himself. Instinctively, he reached for his pokeball so his Dragonite could get him out of this one. He knew it was an assassination attempt, it wasn't the first time someone tried killing him. Lance suspected Team Rocket was after his head. "Sir!" His bodyguards, wearing suits and dress pants, came into the room. "Team Rocket's flooding the HQ!" His sunglasses shielded his terrified eyes. Three other bodyguards came in. "We need to go the bomb shelter, S.W.A.T. is on the way," another bodyguard said. "Don't call out your Pokemon, the bomb shelter is too small." Lance looked rather disappointed, he wanted Dragonite in this one. BOOM BOOM BOOM Three explosions. Team Rocket was dropping their primitive bombs all over the HQ. "How many of them are there?" Lance asked. His bodyguards took out their pistols. "Lots. We have to be careful, we'll surround you." The bodyguards surrounded Lance. Lance had orange-red hair that looked like a flame. He wore all black, and had a cape only dragon masters wore. "We have to be careful, Rockets are all over the place right beyond this door," one bodyguard said, placing his hands around the brass doorknob. He twisted it opened, and started to cock the hammer. Nobody seemed to be out there, and everything was quiet. Too quiet. "Sir! I don't see the Rockets anywhere!" BOOM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! Shots fired out, and Rockets popped out, crashing through the roof thanks to a bomb. Dozens of Rockets spilled from the upstairs floor, where Bruno's office was. "Crap, they got Bruno." Lance said to himself. Out of habit, he crouched down, and his bodyguards emptied their bullets to the darkly clothed adversaries. They dropped like stones, blood splattering everywhere. Then, the Rockets took out their own pistols, and fired on Lance's bodyguards. "Go Lance! We'll take them! Just go! ARGH!" his bodyguard was shot in the arm. Lance hesitated at first, but it was the only hope for him. "Good luck," with that, he ran out of the circle and sprinted for the bomb shelter. He could hear his bodyguards being repeatedly shot, yet still fighting on. It was unbearable, listening people sacrificing their lives just for him. Plus, Bruno was dead. The Rockets probably took out Koga, Will and Karen as well. He kept running towards the bomb shelters, narrowly avoiding detection from Rockets. They were everywhere, covering the red carpet with their black clothing. Almost like staining it. Finally, he could see the door leading outside. After a 100-yard sprint, there'd be a small shelter, bomb proof. He could only hope there weren't Rockets, waiting for him to pop out of League HQ. He pulled the doorknob, said his last prayers, and flew out into the bright light. The sudden change in brightness blinded him, but he kept running anyways, waiting for that stray bullet to get him on the vital organs, or one of his limbs. When his eyes adjusted, he saw he was halfway there. He also noticed there weren't any Rockets shooting him. In fact, there weren't any Rockets at all. He sighed a breath of relief. The bomb shelter was a looming gray. It was behind the actual League HQ building. It seemed out of place, but it was right in front of a forest. If the bomb shelter were raided, they would go out the backdoor, and run into the forest. The forest would lead to Mt. Silver if they headed west, where they could get help. The shelter itself was pretty small, about the size of a living room. It was completely bare, save a few cobwebs here and there. This would Lance's lifeline. When he finally reached the door, he turned the doorknob, which was locked. That could only mean someone was in it. "Who is it?" a deep booming voice called from the other side of the door. "Open up, it's Lance. Hurry, I don't know when the Rockets will discover the backdoor!" "Lance! Of course," the door turned, and Lance saw Bruno, smiling. **** "We saw Giovanni go that way!" Nancy said to the League Officers, pointing north. They nodded, and began to run in the direction Nancy was pointing. They tossed her a pistol. Isaac's eyes bugged out. "Don't worry, I won't use it unless I have to," Nancy assured the shocked Isaac. All the guns made Isaac feel sick. He shook off the nausea, and ran with the officers. **** For the next few hours, League Officers and trainers alike looked in every spot possible, to where Giovanni might be. Even Fang was stumped; all the places normal jungle Pokemon hid in were empty. "Maybe they're gone..." Greg suggested. "Giovanni might've gotten a boat or something and rode off with it." Suddenly, Isaac saw a shadow dart between two large trees. "Over there!" Isaac pointed, and the League Officers, including Nancy, opened fire. BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! Bullets bounced off the two trees, but they only got open air. "Head into the direction!" one officer shouted. All of a sudden, Rockets popped out of the bushes and loaded their own pistols. There were twenty of them, and eleven League Officers. The Rockets had the upper hand. Until... "Throw grenades!" Nancy shouted. Since she was a League Official, she had authority. The officers obeyed, pulled the pin, and threw it at the Rockets. Eleven gigantic explosions shook the ground and everyone trembled. All twenty Rockets seem to be killed, but they saw one last figure running away. "Giovanni! I'll get you for what you did to my Growlithe!" Isaac snatched the pistol from Nancy's hand, and started firing to the shadowy figure. BLAM! Giovanni fell as if he was made with lead. "Go! Go! Go! We have him! We have Giovanni!" Nancy screamed into her communicator. **** Lance sat with the Elite Four. So far, they were the only ones that had made it here. Even if some League member came, Rockets could be posing as one, so they couldn't let anyone else in. Bruno had barely escaped the Rockets but came out with only a few cuts. Will teleported here, and Karen's story was similar to Lance; bodyguards laid down their lives for her as well. Everyone was slipping into shock, so they were quiet. In the background they could hear explosions going off, and the guards desperately trying to fight off the Rockets to no avail. Shrill screams of pain and terror pierced through the air. "Where's the S.W.A.T.?" Lance suddenly asked. Everyone was startled since he spoke so suddenly. "They're being slowed down, Rockets raided their HQ and anyone that got it would be held back by Rockets. From what I heard, Rockets are covering a three-mile radius around the HQ, and raided every major city. This has got to be the largest raid the world has ever seen," Will said. He had reddish-orange hair, sunglasses and a jumpsuit with a blue "L" on it. "Good gracious..." Karen said to the air. "I never even knew there were that many Rockets." Lance took out his pokegear, and tuned to Poke News Now. "This is Bill Pierce on Poke News Now, reporting on the Rocket raid that is devastating all over the Johto and Kanto regions." Lance sighed inwardly at that one. "Both regions were taken by surprise, and even I had to go to the Houen region, for protection. There's a mountain range separating it from Johto, so we're good from Rockets. However, the League is still not able to cope with this sudden attack, and the only defense each town has are the gym leaders and whatever trainers happen to be there. The League calls for reinforcements from Houen, but Houen has its hands full with Team Magma and Team Aqua." Lance was surprised at how quickly Team Rocket attacked. He thought most were taken out during the battle. "The battle by Team Rocket HQ was thought to be the turning point for the League, as Team Rocket was starting to lose. However, the Rockets pushed the League back. Most Rockets weren't in that battle, as they were preparing for their final strike. As for Giovanni, a few League Strike Forces, LSF for short, has just shot Giovanni. No word on whether he's alive or not." Lance smiled at that last tidbit of hope. The Elite Four crowded around the pokegear to try and hear more. Suddenly, one of the walls from the bomb shelter collapsed. Ten Rhydons stood on the other side, with dozens of Rockets behind them. Lance instinctively went to call out Dragonite, but the Rockets loaded their pistols. Lance was surprised at how many Rockets had guns. Only League Officers were issued pistols, so they had to be smuggled for Rockets to have any hope. Someone was leaking the supply of guns to Team Rocket. But, Lance couldn't focus on the traitor; he needed to worry about his life right now. "Let's see some hands! Don't call out your Pokemon, or their pokeball will be the last thing you see!" Lance gritted his teeth, and placed his hands over his head. **** Isaac was filled with hope and excitement, as he approached the body he just shot. When he saw no body, but a trail of blood, he realized the bullet had only wounded him. "Dang it! I wanted that bullet to hit his head!" Isaac said in frustration. "Whoa, dude. Chill...that was the first shot you fired in your entire life. It's incredible that you got him at all," Mike informed. "I know, but this Giovanni thing is being dragged out too long. I want him dead, NOW!!" Isaac countered. He hardly ever acted this immature. The only time Isaac was like this was when he was truly angry and frustrated beyond belief. "Actually, I think it's better off Giovanni was alive," Nancy said. "Only because if we get him alive AND injured, he's more likely to cooperate and stop Team Rocket once and for all." Suddenly, Nancy's communicator beeped furiously. She picked it up, and listened to the other line. "WHAT?!? So we can't get Giovanni? But we're so close sir! Yes! We see his trail of blood. What? NO WAY! They CAN'T be captured! That's impossible! Yes...Yessir, we'll be on our way," Nancy angrily turned her communicator off. "Bad news," She began, "The Elite Four has been captured, and every major city in Johto and Kanto has been raided in possibly the largest raid in the history of the world." Everyone's eyes bugged at that last tidbit of information. "Anyways," Nancy continued, "we're needed, especially LSF members. A helicopter will arrive here in about ten minutes at that same clearing and take us to Goldenrod, where the raiding is the worst." Isaac had tears of anger well up in his eyes. He was SO close. He could see Giovanni's blood, right in front of him. Giovanni was probably long gone. **** Falkner had gone back to Violet to try and defend his own gym and Greg had gone back to Houen, after taking one last look at his old Seviper who he abandoned. Other than that, everyone was at Goldenrod. "Ok everyone, here's the deal," Nancy said. The League Strike Forces that were with them earlier went off. It was just Nancy, Isaac and Mike, just like the old days. They were in a grimy alley, discussing how they were going to fight. "Only the elite Rockets have guns, and League Officers like myself. So, you go for the regular grunts, they won't have a gun. However, you CAN'T lose. Their Pokemon could be just as deadly, so if you lose the battle you're pretty much as good as dead. DON'T fight the Rockets with stripes on their arms, since they're the Elite Rockets, and they most likely have guns." Isaac and Mike nodded in agreement. "Let's go kick some Rocket butt! Remember; go to this alley if your Pokemon needs a rest. In that garbage can there are potions that I snuck in so you guys can use it." Nancy gave them one more farewell, and the three went out into the streets ready to fight Team Rocket. The roads were crawling with Rockets, who threw their bombs into the homes and every other building they came near. Whatever trainers tried opposing them were quickly swept away at the tide of black. Some Rocket members called out their fire Pokemon to burn down the buildings Goldenrod worked so hard to build. **** "Come on Fang! Hang in there! Poison Tail that Primeape! Finish it off!" Isaac said. He was already on his tenth battle, and his Pokemon didn't get a proper rest. He could see fatigue taking over his team. Seviper coiled up, and promptly hit the Rocket's Primeape with its sharp tail. The Primeape was worn out, and it moved lazily like a drunk for a few seconds. Then, the poison took over and its eyes rolled back and the Primeape fainted. "No! That was my last Pokemon! You'll be hearing from me again!" With that, the Rocket grumbled a few more words, and then took off. Forretress and Fearow were out, so Fang was his last Pokemon that was fighting fit. However, Fang was worn out significantly as it just took down six Pokemon in a row. "Fang, you need a rest. I'll take you to the alley. Just hope nobody notices us. Fang! Return!" With that, he sprinted for the alley that had the stashed potions. Surprisingly, with much relief to Isaac, no Rocket stopped him. He went there and quickly recovered his tired Pokemon. Isaac was completely worn out from the constant battling but he still had to go on. **** After a couple more battles, Isaac saw Mike getting his butt creamed by an experienced Rocket. "Raticate! Come on! Hang in there!" Mike urged. Isaac could tell by the fear in Mike's eyes that Raticate was his last Pokemon. "Ha! I've never liked amateurs...Crobat! Use Bite attack! Now!" the Rocket's purple four-winged Pokemon swiftly proceeded to bite Mike's worn-out Raticate. "No way! Fearow! Peck! Cut the Crobat off!" Isaac called out his falcon. "RAA!!" The Fearow growled shrilly, and hit Crobat on its side just before it could bite Raticate. "ERG! You'll pay for this!" The Rocket said. He proceeded to call out his next Pokemon. "Mike! Go and heal your team!" BLAM BLAM BLAM Isaac saw blood spurt out of the Rocket in three places. The Rocket's eyes were in complete shock, but Isaac didn't see it. He turned his head away after the blood. Isaac looked over and saw Nancy, still holding her gun out. Isaac shuddered at the sight of the death. "Come on Isaac! You too Mike! We've got to get outta here! Goldenrod has been taken! There's nothing we can do. Whitney was captured and the League lost all its morale. Come on, hop on my Dragonair." With that, Nancy called out her Dragonair. Isaac and Mike were numb from all the shock, and absently got on Dragonair's back. "Where to?" Isaac said after several minutes of flying. "New Bark Town. It has the second highest about of attack. Professor Elm got out just on time." "NEW BARK TOWN?!? HOLY SH**!! My parents live there!" Isaac said. Mike suddenly realized his family was there too, and he muttered some curses under his breath. "Nancy, we're not gonna leave until every Rocket is gone. I don't care if Elm gets captured." Mike said. "Look, we'll see what we can do ok? If it gets too dangerous, if what we're doing right now isn't dangerous enough, it's imperative that you get out." Nancy said firmly. Mike stubbornly crossed his arms. "There it is! New Bark Town!" Mike said, pointing down. He knew how New Bark Town looked from the air, since he rode his father's Charizard all the time. "Show time." **** The three had a heck of a time trying to flush out the Rockets. The League officers hadn't arrived yet, but they were going to come in due time. Rockets were everywhere. Isaac sometimes battled even two Rockets at a time. He never lost. Mike stuck with Nancy, and stood there while Nancy blasted away with her pistol. Isaac was going around battling the Rockets, winning each time. Fang wasn't ever going to let him down. Of course, neither was Forretress or Fearow. He would never encounter the Elite Rockets, and did pretty well avoiding them if he ever saw any. Isaac was slowly making his way towards his house, where his parents were. After plucking off a particularly easy Rocket, he saw the fate of his parents. "Come on you two, let's see some hands!" Three meaty Rockets cornered Isaac's parents. They were terrified, and immediately complied. Isaac was sickened at this site, and didn't like seeing his parents become so vulnerable. "Fang! Poison Tail!" The Rockets didn't hear. Seviper looked at Isaac in surprise. "Yes, ON the Rockets themselves, those are my parents by the way," Seviper nodded in acknowledgement. "SEVIPER!" It hit the three startled Rockets, who's backs were turned to Isaac. With three expert hits, the Rockets went down like a stone. "Isaac! Wow we thought we'd never see you again! You've grown, and so has Seviper." His dad commented. "How many badges have you won?" "Look, dad. In case you haven't noticed, the world is being taken over by evil people in bad clothing! Come on, go somewhere and hide for now, I need to report back. Check you guys later," With that, Isaac took off in the direction where he thought Nancy was. **** "Isaac!" Mike and Nancy ran over towards him. "New Bark Town is gone too, there's only one last town. It's not even raided," Nancy said. "Lavender." "Lavender?" Isaac asked. He couldn't believe it. The little tiny town clear on the other side of the map with nothing but a radio tower would decide the fate of the world. "You mean the town that's got...nothing?" Isaac asked. "The one and only," Mike replied. "You've gotta be kidding." To Be Continued... Ehh...I haven't gotten any reviews, mostly because my pen name is WAYY down the list. If anyone's reading, reviews would be appreciated. Thanks. Wow this is an especially long one.
