Rêves et Mémoires

A/N: Hello! I’m J.I – Jaded Imagery. I hope you like this little tester of my writing, a songfic to Kansas’ Journey from Mariabronn. This song seems fitting for the purpose that I have given it.
By the way, in French, the name means Dreams and Memories, and that is a recurring theme in the song.
This is an AAMRN.
DISCLAIMER: I don’t own Pokemon, but it would be nice to have millions of dollars in the bank. And I certainly don’t own Kansas, which is a fantastic rock band from the 60s and 70s.

Two began together, lived as one
Each one to the other had become
More than a friend, living to meet a common end
They were true, each one knew all is well
He frowned as he glanced at the sleeping figure beside him. The shadows enveloped her in its cold rapture. Her milky face seemed undisturbed to the point of suffocation. His heart stuttered as he thought of what was to come.
He stumbled from the bed they shared and wandered over to their balcony of marble and gold, daring not to glance downward and witness the fighting below. However, it was easier to stare into the bloodshed than to admit to his feelings.
There was no love for him. He couldn’t afford it. He knew his time was coming.
Still the elder knew it could not last
Hidden memories from the young one's past
Drew them apart
Both knew that deep within his heart they must part
Each their own separate way
“Your journey is admirable, Sir Aaron. Infact, it is inevitable.” The Good Queen said solemnly. She glanced at the woman beside her. Her daughter stood, composed and stoic. Yet, Rene knew that the princess was hiding her pain from the caped man and the court. “I have foreseen this turn of events.” She emphasized. “The fighting will soon end.”
However, Rene knew little of Aaron and Misana’s relations. Their affair was known to only themselves, and their closest friend.
The Queen watched her daughter bow her head in heartache as Aaron walked out of the hall, followed closely by Lucario.
It puzzles me how we can be so close and yet worlds apart
Can it be, my memory has torn my life in two
From the very start
I screamed for the devil to let me be
I called to the heavens to set me free
Today I prayed for the answer and not one
Of the gods in the sky would rescue me
“Master.” Lucario felt the burden that had erupted in his fellow’s soul. “She will go on. She will not suffer for long.”
“Lucario. I don’t know if we will meet again.” He tilted his head towards Lucario, and the Pokemon saw the fierceness in Aaron’s eyes. “Our relationship was not suitable for her. Misa was meant for more than me. She knew that as well as I did.”
“She loved you, Master.” Lucario heard a sigh of regret and remained silent for the remainder of their midnight walk.
Dreams of fortune fill the young one's mind
Learn the worldly ways of hope to find
Love on the way, searching to find the light of day
In his soul he had found his own way
Misana watched the sun set and rise repeatedly as the days soared past her. Reports of ceaseless battles threatened to fill her head with grief, but solitude had already done the job.
She had loved him passionately. She had given him everything. And yet, he never said the same. Regardless of everything she had done for him, he had left her.
And when her mother flew into her room, gasping with tears, she knew the exact extent to which he had.
But to each other they soon will return
Destiny fulfilled, their words will burn an eternal flame
Ash smiled as Misty waved at him from the stadium seats. He smiled, and battled his opponent with her on his mind.
Perhaps one day he would tell her that he loved her.

A/N: By the way, this was loosely based upon the latest Pokemon movie about Lucario.
