Previously, John, Jack and Julie obtained there first pokemon for Professor Oaks Pokemon Trainer Recruitment plan. Now, the three heroes head off to journey through all of Kanto to discover pokemon and to fill there Pokedexes with various rare pokemon. “I’ve had it…” Jack said in a mutter, “You two are just too distracting!” “What do you mean by that Jack?” John questioned as they approached Viridian City, “It’s only been like three minutes since we’ve left, and now you’re gonna act like this?!” “Ooh, look at that Rattata guys!” Julie exclaimed and pointed to the small rattata that scurried along. “See what I mean John?” Jack claimed and waved his hands in a quick motion up in the air, “Too distracting, you two are holding me back, we could’ve reached Viridian Forest a few minutes ago if we picked up the pace!” “Picked up the pace?” John asked, “What’s the rush Jack? I’m in no rush, are you in a rush Julie?” Julie shook her head and said: “They’re so cute…What’s wrong with our pace now? Besides, I need time to jot down quick notes.” “Y’know what, forget you two!” Jack yelled, “I’m flying solo!” “Well I guess we’ll be seeing you around then Jack.” John proclaimed with an ironic grin. “Wait, don’t go Jack!” Julie said and reached out for him, “What if you get hurt, or become in danger?” “Don’t worry about him.” John commented, “I’m pretty sure Jack could take care of himself, we don’t need him anyways. It’s not like he’s a great help or anything, so it’s no loss for us. Actually, it’s more of a gain!” “Please don’t do this Jack, we’re supposed to travel together in a group!” Julie exclaimed but Jack continued to ignore her and John. Julie touched his shoulder, yet Jack violently shrugged her hand off him and pushed her down to the ground. “Hey, that was uncalled for Jack!” John shouted and ran to her, “Want to settle this right here and now, I’m pumped and ready for a good battle anyways!” “Why battle when I can settle this easily with my fists!” Jack exclaimed and raised his fist like he was about to hit John. “I don’t suppose you want me to call Professor Oak, do you Jack?” Julie said and smiled, “Maybe I should have a quick word on how you’re behaving.” Jack lowered his fist away from Johns face and walked over to Julie. “If you say anything to Oak of what just happened, I’ll be sure to get you back double!” Jack sneered, “I’ll be leaving now!” Jack ran off through Viridian City, and both John and Julie were awestruck. “Well that could’ve gone better I guess.” John concluded as the two began walking again through the wild grass. John and Julie approached Viridian Citys Poke-Mart with very little cash in their pockets, yet they still managed to buy a few pokeballs and some crucial potions with some of the change they had. For a while they set out catching some common pokemon in the grass such as weak leveled Rattata and Pidgey. “Hmm, it’s getting late doncha’ think?” Julie brought up after she caught a Pidgey. John checked his watch and shook his head. “Julie, it’s only about 6:30…” John replied, “I think we should start heading over to the next town before it gets too late.” “You mean Pewter City?” Julie asked, “But you have to get through Viridian Forest to get there!” “So what? Viridian Forest isn’t that big…At least I don’t think it’s that big.” “But walking through Viridian Forest at night is such a bad omen!” Julie exclaimed, “Or any forest around here at that!” “Where’d you hear that from?” John questioned her. “Don’t you think walking through an unlit forest at night be at least sort of creepy?” Julie said then paused, “We don’t even know what kind of bug-pokemon may be lurking there around this time.” “That’s the whole point of this adventure Julie.” John told her, “C’mon, we want to at least try to make an attempt to catch up to Jack.” “Ok then...” Julie said with her head down as they began walking to Viridian Forest. By the time they reached the forest, the sun had completely vanished from the sky. “It’s not too late to turn back y’know.” Julie muttered, yet John continued to ignore her. The two of them encountered a few bug pokemon, and even fewer trainers. “This doesn’t seem right John, we should go now.” Julie said in a shaky voice. “What’re you so scared about? Haven’t you ever been camping out in the wild before?” Julie was in deep thought. “Um, actually I haven’t.” She finally stated, “I’m usually concocting experiments in my private lab.” There was a deep buzzing noise coming from deeper into the woods of the forest. “Did you hear that?!” Julie shrieked and ran to Johns side, “Some sort of~” “Bug pokemon.” John interrupted her, “There’s nothing really to be afraid of so can you just chill out for a moment? Besides, we’re almost out of here.” “Are you sure, because it looks like we’ve been walking in circles for hours!” Julie exclaimed, “Why don’t you check the map?” “Check the map?” John questioned, “I don’t need to check the map, I have my natural born instincts. That’s better than any map.” 5 minutes later… “Ok fine, I’ll check the damn map!” John exclaimed as he ruffled through his bag for the map. “Hurry up, I hear that bug noise again.” Julie said as she squatted next to John. The buzzing noise came closer and closer to them, and as it came closer Julie began to shiver with fear. Before Julie could release Bulba from her pokeball, Julie screamed in terror as Giant Beedrills came swarming over to her. John quickly noticed the swarm as well and gathered his things before the swarm could reach him. “I hate bugs, I told you it was a bad omen to do this!” “No worries, it’s not too far!” “You keep saying that, but we’re still in here now aren’t we?!” The Beedrills shot their poison stingers, yet John and Julie were able to evade them. The exit was only a few feet away, so John sprinted even faster. Julie couldn’t keep up and tripped over a small branch and screamed for Johns help. In that small moment of time, John had to make a quick decision. To save Julie and risk becoming stung by the Beedrill swarm, or keep going down the exit.
