Chapter 12 Day-care Worries

Once again our heroes are on a ferry heading to Monico Island and it
seems there is also in a match too.
"Okay how about a one on one match," the young trainer said.
"Okay," Tonya said pulling out a Pokéball.
"I guess I can take a break," Karl said putting his Pokéball away.
"Go Mankey," the trainer yelled.
"Go Miltank," Tonya said throwing her Pokéball.
"Mil tank," the Pokémon said.
"Mankey Low Kick," the youngster yelled.
The Mankey ran up and Low Kicked Miltank knocking it down.
"Miltank get up," Tonya yelled.
"Ha your Miltank is to slow," youngster yelled.  "Now Seismic Toss."
"Miltank wait," Tonya yelled.
Mankey ran up and grabbed Miltank and tried to pick it up.
"Man," it yelled trying.
"Miltank has weight advantage," Tonya yelled.
"Key," it yelled trying again.
"Body Slam," Tonya yelled.
"Key," the Pokémon said passing out under Mankey.
"Miltank you can get off it now," Tonya said.
"Mil," the Pokémon yelled running over to Tonya and giving it a big hug.
"Stop it," Tonya yelled in pain.
Karl started laughing like crazy.
"Get out of here," Tonya said calling back her Pokémon.
"Man you cheated," the youngster said calling back his Pokémon and
walking away.
"Attention all passengers we have arrived at Monico Island please depart
from the ship," the PA speakers said.
"Time to go," Karl said pulling out Charmander 's Pokéball and releasing
the Pokémon.
"Charmander," the Pokémon said.
"Lets go," Karl said walking towards the entrance of the ship.
"Why did you let out Charmander?" Tonya asked.
"Must I tell you everything?" Karl said.
"Why won't you tell me?" Tonya said turning around and facing Karl
walking backwards.
"Listen I heard from some of the other people who ride this ship that there
is a volcano on this island," Karl said.
"So?"  Tonya said.
"Well since there is a volcano I was thinking of capturing another fire
Pokémon," Karl said.
"So what is that suppose to mean, I should capture a fire Pokémon you
already have Charmander," she said pointing at him.
"Char," the Pokémon said.
"What?" Karl said turning on his translator.
{Tonya you should watch were your} but before Charmander could finish
his sentence Tonya tripped over a Pokémon and fell in the water.
Karl started laughing.
"Hey stop laughing at," all of a sudden she disappeared under the water.
"Stop joking around," Karl said.
{I don't think} Charmander was interrupted as a stream of water hit him; he
flew back and crashed on his back yelling in pain.
"What?" Karl yelled.
Tonya head exploded out of the water as she gasped, "A Pokémon." Her
head went backed under the water.
"Hold on," Karl said pulling out a purple and white Pokéball. But the
Pokémon that Tonya tripped over jumped up in the air and grabbed the 
Pokéball.
"Hey give that back," Karl said chasing the little Pokémon.
"Don't worry," a kid about Karl's age ran up to the dock and jumped in the
water.
"He emerged later with a passed out Tonya and a Pokémon. Karl pulled
out his Pokédex and pointed it at the Pokémon.
<Wooper This Pokémon lives in cold water. It will leave the water to
search for food when it gets cold outside. When it walks around on the 
ground, it
coats its body with a slimy, poisonous film. >
"Put that thing away we need to get your girlfriend to a bed follow me," the
kid said trying to pick up Tonya.  "Uhh…man your girlfriend is heavy you 
need to
talk to her about that."
"She isn't my," Karl started to explain but the Pokémon that stole his
Pokéball threw it at Karl and it hit him in the head.
"Poli," the Pokémon said coming out of the Pokéball.
"Oww you little…ummm," Karl pointed his Pokédex at the Pokémon.
<Tyrogue a fighting Pokémon.  It is always bursting with energy. To make
itself stronger, it keeps on fighting even if it loses. Even though it is 
small, it can't
be ignored because it will slug any handy target without warning. >
"Now you tell me," Karl said rubbing his head.
Poliwhirl picked up Tonya and slung her over his shoulder and Karl picked
up Charmander who was knocked out from the water attack.
Team Rocket…

"We have to think about this first I mean it feels kind of wrong to steal 
baby
Pokémon," Harvey said.
"How does it feel wrong a Pokémon is a Pokémon," Haley said.
"But-," Harvey was cut off.
"But nothing we need to catch more Pokémon we cant win with a
Electabuzz and a Slowking now come on," Haley said putting away her
binoculars and walking in the direction of Karl and the others.
"Its still doesn't feel right," Harvey whispered to himself.
After they got Tonya in bed…

{Boy Tonya mustn't be very strong to get pulled into the water by a
Wooper} Poliwhirl said to Karl and Greg, the guy who saved Tonya.
"Woopers are strong Pokémon," Greg said returning with some
sandwiches and some other baby Pokémon Karl pulled out his Pokédex and
pointed it at the Pokémon.
<Cleffa Because of it's unusual, star-like silhouette, people believe that 
it
came here on a meteor. When numerous meteors illuminate the night sky,
sightings of Cleffa strangely increase. >
<Igglybuff It has a very soft body. If it starts to roll, it will bounce all 
over
and be impossible to stop. Its extremely flexible and elastic body makes it
bounce continuously-- anytime, anywhere. >
<Phany It swings it's long snout around playfully, but because it is so
strong, that can be dangerous. As a sign of affection, it bumps with its 
snout.
However, it is so strong, it may send you flying. >
<Elekid It rotates its arms to generate electricity, but it tires easily, so 
it
charges up only a little bit. Even in the most vicious storm, this Pokémon 
plays
happily if thunder rumbles in the sky. >
<Magby Each and every time it inhales and exhales, hot embers dribble
out of its mouth and nostrils. It is found in volcanic craters. Its body 
temperature
is over 1100 degrees so don't underestimate it. >
"Boy you sure have a lot of baby Pokémon," Karl said petting the Cleffa on
the head it giggled.
"Yeah I found most of them abandoned and scared so I took them in and
take care of them," Greg said.  "But as you can see sometimes I lose track 
of
them."
"Yeah," Karl said.
{Karl why don't you let Pichu out of its Pokéball I bet it would like to 
play}
Poliwhirl suggested.
"Right I forgot it's a baby Pokémon ever since it decided to stay in its
Pokéball," he said calling out his Pokémon.
{Ahh its good to be out} the baby mouse said.
{Yeah a new play friend} one of the other Pokémon said as Pichu and
them left the room.
"Pichu," Karl yelled.
"Don't worry there is a playroom on the other side," Greg said.
"Ohh okay," Karl said as Tonya stirred a little.
"What happen?" she said rubbing her head.
"A baby Wooper got you," Karl said.
"I am sorry I saved you when I saw that your boyfriend got attack by
another one of my babies," Greg said.
"You shouldn't have said that," Karl said.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU ARE SORRY I COULD HAVE DIED AND I
AM NOT KARL'S GIRLFRIEND," Tonya yelled.
{Oww I don't even have ears and that hurts} Poliwhirl said.
"Ohh well Poliwhirl carried you," Greg started to say until Karl whispered
something in his ear.  "Right I forgot 'Man you weigh a lot'!"
Karl started laughing.
"WHAT!!!!!!!!" Tonya yelled.
{What did you tell him to say? } Poliwhirl asked.
"You don't know?" Karl asked.  "He said it."
"Sorry," Greg stuttered out.
"Yeah you weigh just as much as you're Miltank," Karl said.
Tonya jumped off the bed and drop kick Karl who flew back and landed on
his face.
"And her temper is like her Nidoking," Karl muffled into the ground.
"So thanks for saving me," Tonya said in a sweet voice.
"Your welcome," Greg said slowly.
Team Rocket…

Haley was sitting on a hill spying on Karl and the others while Harvey was
watching Gligarman in a portable T.V.
"The place is very small and there is a back door that leads directly to
where the baby Pokémon are playing," Haley said removing her binoculars and
looking at Harvey.  "What are you doing?"
"I'm watching The New Adventures of Gligerman and Gligirl," he said.
"Listen you two year old we have to get those Pokémon," she said.
"But their just babies," Harvey said looking up from his T.V it was at a
commercial break.  "Besides our primary mission is to kill Karl," he pointed 
out.
"I know that but we need to also get new Pokémon for Kristina and Drew,"
Haley said looking back at the house.
"Yeah but…" Harvey started to say but The New Adventures of Gligerman
and Gligirl was back from commercial break.
"But what?" Haley started to say but as she looked through her binoculars
she saw Karl and Tonya leaving the house and heading in the direction of the
Pokémon Center.
"No not Wobbufettman I thought he was in jail," Harvey yelled at the T.V.
"No wonder you don't want to steal the baby Pokémon you're a baby too,"
she said snatching the T.V from Harvey's hands and turning it off.  "Now's 
our
chance," she said heading towards the house.
"No it was getting up to the best part," Harvey said crying.
Back to Karl in the Center…

"Okay Nurse Joy hear are my Pokémon," Karl said handing the Nurse 5
Pokéballs.
"Here are mine Nurse Joy," Tonya said giving them to the Nurse.
"I will attend to these right away," Nurse Joy said leaving them.
"You think it was a good idea to leave Pichu with Greg even though he
needed a check up?" Karl asked.
"Don't worry," Tonya said sitting down.  "Its not like everyday Pichu can
play with someone his age.  When our Pokémon are checked we will go back
there and get him," Tonya said.
"You are right," Karl said walking over to a Vidphone.  "I'm going to call 
the
Professors."
"Okay," Tonya said getting up and walking over to the Vidphone as
Professor Albert's face appeared on the screen.
"Hello Karl how are things," the professor said.
"Good we're on Monico Island in the Pokémon Center," Karl said.
"Good because," as the professor said that Mankey jump kicked him in the
back of the head the professor flew forward and hit his head on the 
Vidphone.
"Mankey how are things," Karl said turning on his translator.
{Cool man Professor Albert lets me beat him up all the time} the Mankey
started to say then disappeared in a red light.
"Huh?" Karl said confused.
"I called it back," Professor Albert said with an ice pack on his head.
"Sorry," Karl said.
"Don't worry about it its only a bump on the head," Professor Albert
pushing down on the ice pack.
"Well got to go and call Professor Coy," Karl said.
"Okay bye," the professor said as his face disappeared from the screen.
Greg and Team Rocket…

"Pichu," said Pichu appearing from the playroom looking for Karl.
"Huh?  Pichu," Greg said.  "Karl left to heal his other Pokémon he said he
would be back."
"Pi," the Pokémon said then a big explosion as half the house (the side
with the playroom.)
"Huh?" Greg said running to the back to see Team Rocket (and his baby
Pokémon in cages loaded on the back of a pickup truck.)
"What is he doing here?" Harvey asked.
"You idiot if you were paying attention instead of watching Gligarman you
would have heard me told you that he is the guy who owns the Pokémon," Haley
said.
"Time to leave with your Pokémon," Harvey said about to open the driver
door.
"Pichu," said Pichu letting out a Thundershock attack stopping Harvey
from opening his door.
"It seems like we missed one," Haley said throwing Slowking's Pokéball.
"Slow," the Pokémon said.
"Pichu," said Pichu letting out a Thundershock attack.
"Confusion," Haley yelled.
The Thundershock attack turned around and hit Pichu knocking it down.
"Pichu," Greg said running up to the Pokémon when Haley took out a whip
and whipped it around Pichu and pulling him towards her she put him in a 
cage,
they drove off in a cloud of smoke.  "No I have to get Karl," Greg said 
running
towards the Pokémon Center.
At the Pokémon Center…

"I think I will call Professor Coy see how Butterfree is doing," Karl said
picking up the receiver and started to dial the number when Greg burst in 
the
Pokémon Center grasping.
"Greg what's wrong?" Tonya asked running over to him.
"All the baby Pokémon have been kidnapped," he gasped between
breaths.
"What we have to go and save them," Karl said running towards the
centers doors.
"Wait," Tonya yelled.  "We will need our Pokémon."
"I am sorry," Nurse Joy said but I haven't finished checking all your
Pokémon."
"Just give us the Pokémon you have treated," Tonya yelled.
"Here," she said handing Karl two Pokéballs, one was silver and white and
the other was the plain red and white.
"Here," Karl said handing Tonya the Pokéball.  "Let's go."
When they reached back at the house they saw the damage.
"They're from Team Rocket I recognized the clothes," Greg said.
"Great how are we suppose to track them," Karl said looking around.
"With this," Tonya said throwing her only Pokéball.
"Pidgeotto," the bird Pokémon said erupting from its Pokéball.
"Find Team Rocket and the baby Pokémon," Tonya said as the bird
Pokémon took off in search of Team Rocket.
"Great its my fault," Greg said sitting down on a rock.
"What?" Karl said.  "You can't blame yourself there wasn't anything you
could have done."
"Yeah Team Rocket had the element of surprise," Tonya said.
"Still if we don't find my Pokémon I will never be able to live with 
myself,"
Greg said.  "If only I had train them instead of playing with them they 
would have
evolved by now and I wouldn't be in this mess and your Pichu wouldn't be in 
with
Team Rocket."
"You said Team Rocket had a truck right," Karl said looking at the dirt
around the house.
"Yeah but…" he said.
"The dirt around here is soft so look," Karl said pointing to the ground at
some tire tracks.
"They're Team Rockets," Greg said.
"Pidgeotto," the Pokémon said returning.
"Did you find them?" Tonya asked.
Karl turned on his translator.
{No I was following there tire trail until it reached a paved road that goes 
in
two directions} the bird Pokémon said.
"Good lets go there," Greg said getting up and running in the direction the
bird Pokémon flew.
"Right," Karl and Tonya said following Greg.
They followed the tracks until they reached where the tracks ended.
"Darn the tracks ends right here," Karl said.
"But how?" Greg said.  "Car tracks can't just disappear."
"Team Rocket has a Slowking maybe they got it to use its psychic powers
to cover the tracks," Tonya said.
{I found them} Pidgeotto said.  {Follow me} the Pokémon said flying into
the forest.
They ran through a lot of underbrush and trees until they reached an open
field where Team Rocket was with all of the baby Pokémon in cages.
"Stop right there," Greg said running up and confronting Team Rocket.
"Hey it's the owner of the Pokémon we stole," Haley said pulling out a
Pokéball.
"Hey there is going to be a Gligerman marathon, they're going to show all
the best ones," Harvey said getting up and sticking the T.V right in front 
of Haley.
"Give me that," Haley said taking the portable T.V and throwing it back at
Harvey.
"Man give back the Pokémon," Tonya said.
"Pichu hold on I'm coming," Karl said running towards the cages.
"Stop him with Water Gun," Haley said throwing her Pokéball.
"Slow King," the Pokémon said hitting Karl with Water Gun throwing him
away from the cages.
"Pidgeotto Quick Attack," Tonya yelled.
The Pokémon came out of the sky hitting Slowking full speed.
"I will help go," Harvey said throwing his Pokéball.
"Electabuzz," the Pokémon said.
"Pidgeotto Gust," Tonya yelled.
"Ha Thunderbolt Electabuzz," Harvey yelled.
"Pokémon I choose you," Karl said throwing his Pokéball.
"Scizor," the Pokémon said popping out of the Pokéball and knocking the
Thunderbolt away with Metal Claw.
"Pidgeotto Quick Attack," Tonya yelled.
"You too Scizor," Karl yelled.
The Pokémon hit both of Team Rockets Pokémon.
"No you two Slowking Psychic," Haley yelled.
"Same Electabuzz."
The two Pokémon got hit with the attacks they froze.
"Fight it," Tonya yelled.
"Throw them," Harvey yelled.
Scizor and Pidgeotto got thrown into the cages knocking Pichu's over.
"Scizor get up man," Karl yelled.
"Pidgeotto," Tonya yelled.
"Ha you lose," Haley said.
"Team Rocket wins," Harvey said.
"No return," Karl said calling back Scizor.
"Man," Tonya said calling her Pokémon back.
"Ha, now we win and take all this Pokémon to the boss," Haley said.
"Yes just like in episode #243 of Gligerman," Harvey said.
"Pichu," the electric mouse said using all of its electricity to break out 
of
the cage.
"Look one of the babies wants to fight," Harvey said.
"Pichu stop," Karl yelled.
"Chu," the Pokémon said releasing the rest of its electricity at Slowking
knocking it out.
"What?" Haley said recalling her Pokémon.
"Pi," the Pokémon said breathing hard.
"Electabuzz finish off the rat with a Thunderbolt," Harvey yelled.
Electabuzz connected directly with a Thunderbolt knocking the Pokémon
down.
"Yes," Haley said.
"Chu," the Pokémon said getting up slowly.
"Pichu," Karl said running up to the Pokémon and picking it up. The
Pokémon jumped out of his hands and landing on its feet but was to weak and
fell down.
"Ha finish it off," Haley said.
"Right Thunderpunch," Harvey said.
"Karl," Tonya yelled.
"Pichu," Greg yelled.
"NO," Karl yelled as Pichu started to glow.
"What…" Haley said.
"It's evolving," Tonya yelled.
"This is good," Harvey said.
"Pichu," Karl said staring at his newly evolved Pokémon.  It had a yellow
coat with two brown strips on his back.  His tail was colored brown from the
bottom half way up where it was yellow. His eyes were black and his hands 
were
short.  He also had two red cheeks.
Karl pulled out his Pokédex and pointed it at the Pokémon.  <Pikachu a
mouse Pokémon. These super-cute lightning mouse-like creatures are among
the most sought-after Pokémon.  As a Pokémon, it is one of the few electric-
types and is quite strong. Pikachu can zap an opponent with its electric 
power
just by squeezing its cheeks. Also uses speed to evade its enemies. Trainers
often have a hard time keeping several Pikachu in one place, however, 
because
a high concentration of Pikachu will trigger electrical disturbances in the
atmosphere and cause lightning storms. This can also cause power outages in
nearby towns. Pikachu can be moody and shy, so it may take a while to get 
used
to a new trainer. Be patient and treat Pikachu well, and you will soon be 
best
buds. If you get them angry, they will disobey you. >
"Pikachu," Karl said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"It still won't be able to stop us," Harvey said.
"While Pikachu and Karl has Team Rocket distracted we will go and free
the Pokémon," Tonya said.
"Right," Greg said.
"Pikachu you ready to battle?" Karl said.
"Pi pikachu," he said.
"Please Mega Punch it," Haley said.
"Right Mega Punch," Harvey said.
"Pikachu Agility," Karl yelled.
Electabuzz tried to hit Pikachu with Mega Punch but every time he tried he
Pikachu dodged it.
"Now," Tonya yelled as she and Greg ran towards the cages.
"Electabuzz Thunderpunch," Harvey yelled.
"Pikachu Quick Attack," Karl yelled.
"Pika," the Pokémon said running at top speed hitting Electabuzz before it
could even charge its punch.
"Quit getting hit," Haley yelled.
"Quick Attack it back," Harvey yelled.
"Pikachu Double Team," Karl yelled.
Pikachu multiplied into three as Electabuzz attacked the wrong one.
"Pikachu Mega Punch," Karl yelled.
All three Pikachu's ran up and hit Electabuzz with a Mega Punch.
"Ha," Karl yelled.
"Please that didn't even hurt it," Harvey said.
"This should," Tonya said.
"What!" Haley said turning around to see all the Pokémon freed.
Tyrogue tackled Electabuzz.  Cleffa, Igglybuff and Phanpy hit the
Pokémon with a Rollout attack.  Wooper soaked the Electabuzz with Water Gun
and Eleckid shot out little electric sparks hitting the Pokémon.
"Finish them off with a Thunderbolt," Karl yelled.
"Piiiiiikkkkaaaachhhuu," Pikachu yelled as it electrocuted the soaked
Pokémon knocking it out.
"What!" Haley said.
"We lost," Harvey said calling back his Pokémon.
"We lost to a bunch of babies," Haley said hopping in the drivers' side of
the truck.
"We wont miss the Gligerman marathon," Harvey said.
"I am surrounded by babies," Haley yelled as she drove off.
Back at the Pokémon Center…

"Thank you," Greg said saying it for the 100th time.
"For the last time it was nothing," Karl said.
"Yes I know but you doing understand these Pokémon are the most
important thing for me," Greg said petting all his Pokémon.
"Here you go," Nurse Joy said returning with their Karl and Tonya's
Pokéballs.
"Thanks," he said taking them from her.  "Go Pikachu."
"Pikachu," the Pokémon said coming out of its Pokéball.
Karl turned on his translator.
"I can't believed you evolved," Karl said.
{I can't believe you thought I wouldn't} Pikachu said.
"Boy will the professor be surprised," Tonya said.
{Come on you think he will be surprised? } Pikachu said.
"Who knows?" Karl said.
"I can hardly wait to see one of my baby Pokémon evolve," Greg said.
"Wooper."
"Elekid."
"Tyro."
"Cleffa."
"Iggy."
"Phanpy."
"I don't know I don't think they want to evolve," Greg said.
"They will everyone has to grow up sometime," Karl said looking at
Pikachu.
{Right} he said agreeing.
Later that day…

"Bye, I wish you good luck in your journey," Greg said waving towards
Karl, Tonya and Pikachu as they walked away from the Pokémon Center.
"Bye see you," Karl yelled back.
"Pikachu," the mouse said waving to all his friends as Karl and him walked
off to a continued quest in the Platinum League.
