It was almost time for her to wake up. I stared at her in her sleeping bag with my binoculars. Even asleep she looked radiant. Her face was at peace, like the face of an angel. But she was more then an angel. She was a goddess. As she stirred, I felt a warm feeling spread through my groin. She was almost awake. She opened one sparkling aqua eye. My breath caught in my throat. I watched her in a trance as she rose out of her sleeping bag and walked over to the woods. Her shoulder length, flaming hair glistened in the morning sunlight. Her porcelain skin was delicate, like a dandelion puff. I was amazed. Soon, she found a tree to change behind. I shifted my binoculars. Her small hand reached for the back of her tank top and pulled it off. I wasn't even breathing. As she reached for her pajama pants, I drank in every curve of her body. Finally, she pulled on the red shirt and unzipped yellow sweatshirt over it that tortured me, hiding her true form. She soon pulled on her denim shorts, and my breathing resumed as normal. The magic of the moment couldn't last forever, but her beauty did. Misty approached Brock's sleeping bag and nudged him awake. "Joy?" he muttered sleepily. Misty snorted. "Its not Nurse Joy Romeo, its just me." He looked up and saw Misty. He reddened. "Sorry Mist. I was having a good dream." Misty didn't even want to guess what kind he was referring to. May sat up in her sleeping back and stretched. Her light brown hair fell over her face. The younger girl reached for her plain red bandanna and tied it around her head. "Morning all", she stated cheerily. She didn't even bother to officially change; she just pulled on her red sweatshirt and had slept in her black shorts. "Good to go" she said cheerily. May was much more pleasant then the rest of them in the morning. It was always refreshing. Brock returned from behind the tree he was changing in, and got the frying pan. "Time for breakfast!" he said. "Special treat this morning! Where's Ash?" Everyone looked around to see Ash still in his sleeping bag, snoring loudly. Misty noticed Pikachu was up though. She looked at it slyly. "Pikachu, would you care to wake Ash up?" she asked sweetly. Brock and May both covered their ears. They knew what was coming. Ash awoke to a spark from Pikachu. He leaped out of bed. He knew who told Pikachu to do it. "Misty" he said dangerously. She looked at him innocently. "What", she asked like she didn't know. "You sent Pikachu to wake me up again", he said angrily. Misty just shrugged. "You weren't up on time." Ash growled out of frustration. "Misty I swear if you don't stop using Pikachu as an alarm clock…" Brock put a hand on his shoulder to stop him from getting angry. "Ash, you and Misty are much more mature now. You don't fight anymore and I want it to stay that way." Ash sighed. "Fine" he grumbled. Misty giggled. "Sorry Ash, but I did need to get you up." May laughed along with her. "Its pretty funny to see you jump like that Ash", she said. Seeing the humor in the situation, Ash began to laugh with her. When everyone was dressed, they released they're Pokemon and settled down for Brocks breakfast. It looked like a brown and tan mess. Ash and Misty exchanged glances. "Err Brock", May said carefully. "What is this?" Brock looked proud. "Its hash, homemade! I promise it's delicious" he said enthusiastically. Not wanting to break his spirit, the others decided to choke it down. "Its great Brock" Ash managed to say. Misty snickered at this, but then disguised it as a cough. Brock didn't pick up on any of this. He started talking about Suzie the great breeder again. The group had heard it all before, so they didn't listen very intently. That didn't stop Brock though. He went on about how wonderful she was for the rest of breakfast. He claimed he was going to find her somewhere here in the Sevii Islands. His crush on Suzie was hopeless, but so were all his love interests. Usually Brock was quite smart, but when it came to women he was a blubbering idiot. Misty leaned over and whispered in Ashes ear. "You know, usually you're the thickest person in the group, but I think right now Brock has taken your place." He couldn't tell whether this was a compliment or an insult, but after a moment he smiled, and she smiled back. For the first time he noticed how pretty her smile really was. I was sick of this Ash boy. It was clear to me that some sort of spark was lit between the two of them, and he could get together with her any minute. I wouldn't let him take her from me. She only belonged to me after all. I looked at her closer. Her rosebud lips were curved upwards in a small smile. I felt weak with adoration. I made sure this moment in time would last forever. She leaned over and whispered at the Ash boy. Intense hatred blossomed inside of my mind. He couldn't take her from me. She was all mine. I had waited long enough. It had been five long years since I had last been with her. I was separated for a while, but then I felt my crush on her grow into insatiable longing. I would gaze at her picture for hours on end. I would paint her. She haunted my dreams. It became so intense I had to find her. At the time I knew she was in Hoenn, so I began to follow her. At first I would just try and catch casual glances, going to the same places she would go. I noticed a new younger girl with them, but this one was irrelevant to me. Only she mattered. I began to find her more and more. A couple times the group saw me, so I pretended it was a coincidence. They didn't know I was really there for her. When I found out she was going to the Sevii Islands, I decided I was sick of just figuring out where she would be at certain times. I would travel with her throughout the Islands, but not with the rest of the group. I would hide. It would be a secret until I had a chance. It had been three months, and I was starting to feel like my move had to be made now. It was time soon. I could feel it. Soon we would live happily ever after. The group was pressing on for another day of travel. May and Misty were having a "girl talk" discussion. Ash and Brock hated it when they got like this. They knew Misty was a girl, but she was also just like them until May came along. As much as they liked May, she brought out the more feminine side in Misty. That was not something that was fun for the boys. Finally, Ash got sick of the beauty and boy chat. "Can't you guys talk about something interesting for once", he complained. May sighed. "Ash, were women. We have needs", she said daintily. Ash groaned. "If that's what women are like, I don't see why guys like them so much." "Well were friends Ash. What makes me so different?" Ash smirked. "Well, I don't know if you're a woman the same way as the others" Ash replied jokingly. Misty turned red. "What did you just say Ash" she growled. He realized how she could have interpreted that and quickly tried to fix it. "Mist, you know I didn't mean it in that way…"he said weakly. It was too late. "Ash Ketchum you need to learn some respect" Misty yelled. Brock shook his head. "Ash, as much as you've gotten better you still have much to learn" said his squinty-eyed friend. May was exasperated. "Ash, you really do have a lot to figure out about the ways of women. You'll never win Misty's affection like this" she said matter-of-factly. Ash blushed. "I don't like Misty. She's my best friend" he exclaimed. "We know you believe that Ash, but that's because your blind to the truth" Brock replied. Lost for words, Ash went off muttering to himself "I don't like Misty." May and Brock just exchanged knowing glances. Ah, young love. Ash saw Misty sitting by the lake. "Mist" he said cautiously. "Sorry about what I said earlier. I meant it as a compliment. She looked up at him. "Its fine Ash. I see what you mean, and its something I kind of pride myself on. I just like having May in the group because I need a female friend sometimes. God only knows my sisters are no good for that" she grumbled. A giant blue Gyarados rose out of the water and snarled. Ash was frightened at the sight of the sea monster, and instinctively reached in front of Misty. Pikachus cheeks began to spark. Misty sweatdropped. "Ash, I hate to crush your heroism but that's my Gyarados. I'm just letting my Pokemon out for a swim. Ash blushed and noticed her Seadra in the corner of the lake. "Sorry", he said embarrassed. Misty laughed. "Why don't you let Crawdaunt out for a swim too", she suggested. He released the crablike Pokemon, which immediately jumped in the water. Misty's Starmie jumped onto her lap. She laughed as it went back into the lake. Suddenly she looked at Gyrados and began to laugh. "Ash, do you remember after the S.S Anne sank and James had that Magikarp" she said. Ash laughed too. The Magikarp salesman had convinced James to buy one for a ton of money, and he got angry at how weak it was and abandoned it right before it evolved. "Yeah, I loved the look on his face when it became a Gyarados" Ash said. Him and Misty sat talking about their early adventures and watching the Pokemon for a long time, not even noticing the hours go by until Brock called them for lunch. Later that night at dinner, Ash, Misty, May, and Brock all sat around the fire in unusual silence. Typically dinner was alive with conversation, but this time not even May made a sound. The silence was making Pikachu uneasy, so it tried to cut in with a cute act, but no one bought it. Everyone seemed wrapped up in thought. Ash and Misty kept exchanging glances, and Brock smiled at them. They both blushed. Finally, Brock spoke up. "May could you help me clear the table?" he asked nervously. Taking the hint, May got up and followed him to the clearing. "Looks like something is starting to happen between Ash and Misty" Brock whispered. May smiled. "Its about time. I've seen it coming for a long time" she replied. "Its so sweet. If they get together I will absolutely melt" she sighed. "I love romance." Brock smirked. "Well, there appears to be some romance with you and that Drew" he said smugly. May stiffened. "Drew is just a friend" she explained quickly. "Yeah, whatever you say," replied Brock. That night Ash couldn't sleep. All he could think about was Misty's aqua eyes and big smile. He didn't know what was wrong with him. He hadn't started thinking about his friend like this until recently. He kept flashing back to seeing her at the lake. She had grown up so much from the scrawny little girl with a lopsided ponytail he met at the start of his journey. She had actually become very pretty, like her sisters. Ash tried to shake these thoughts and go to sleep. Pikachu was asleep next to him. Finally, he just got up and headed to the ravine to think. When he approached the ravine he was surprised to see a fully dressed Misty staring at the sky. He tried to be quiet as to not disturb her, but she noticed him. "Hey Ash. What brings you here?" she asked with a smile. "Uh, I couldn't sleep" he replied. "Well neither could I. Its good to have you here to keep me company." It was quiet for a moment. Misty thought it was sweet how he joined her out here. He was struggling for things to say, so he pointed at the sky. "See those stars?" he asked. "Yeah", she replied, somewhat confused. "Well they look like a Milktank to me. And that other group seems an awful lot like a Torkoal." Misty caught on and began finding constellations too. "There's a Grimer and a Dunsparce. And even a…" Misty trailed off. Wondering what was wrong, Ash found the stars she was looking at. They formed a Togepi. "Oh Mist, I'm sorry" he said sympathetically. Togepi had been her baby before it evolved and went to Mirage Island. Ever since then, everyone had avoided the topic. Misty sounded like she was crying. "I just miss it you know?" she sniffed. Wordlessly, Ash put his arm around her. When she was done crying, she leaned her head on his shoulder much to his surprise. They stayed like that until they finally fell asleep. "Do you think we should disturb them?" " No, but it seems like a sketchy situation." Misty awoke to the sound of Brock and May. They were standing over her grinning. It took her a moment to remember, but she had fallen asleep outside. She looked around and noticed that she was asleep on Ashes chest. She immediately jumped up, her face burning with embarrassment. "Have a nice sleep?" asked Brock playfully. "Its not what it looks like" she stammered. "We couldn't sleep, and we just fell asleep like this." Brock and May exchanged knowing looks. Ash got up and stretched. "Morning" he groaned, then saw Misty, Brock, and May staring at him. "What?" he asked sleepily. "Looks like Ash has found himself a woman" was all Brock would say. "What!" Ash cried. "Misty and I are just close friends!" May looked amused. "Its funny that you automatically knew we were referring to Misty and not me" she said. Ash and Misty both searched for a reply, but they couldn't find one. I was boiling over with rage. This Ash was blatantly trying to take her from me. I could see the defiance in his eyes, as if he was mocking me. He wasn't supposed to know about me, but he must if he's doing this. He never respected me in the first place, always made me feel left out. Now he's trying to take away the one thing I want most: her. I couldn't let him do this. I would stall no longer. If I didn't act quickly, he would have her. I began to formulate a plan. It would come into effect next time it rains. It would guarantee once and for all that she would be only for me. I would figure out a way to stop the others from interfering. I would spare the other girl and the Brock guy, but I wouldn't go easy on Ash. He's taken it too far this time. He has sealed his own fate. He better take a good look at her, because when I come for her this will be the last time him or anyone else will ever see her again.
