storms

[one]

Dave stared into the cloudy sky; it all appeared so fast he had no idea how. It would rain soon. If he was near civilization he would hear it would be the worst and largest storm in the history of Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn. It was expected to flood over five cities. Scientists had no idea but this storm seemed to have limitless energy. Dave looked toward the sky as small raindrops began to fall. Near him, on the ground lay his companion, asleep. Though not at rest, it seemed since about two weeks ago Allan had been having nightmares in his sleep, the fugitive watched the sweat roll down his companion’s face as he rolled back and forth on his blanket covering his from the desert sands. Dave didn't know how long this would go on, they couldn't run forever. He eyed the revolver Allan had taken before they left. Only two shots remained, one more each of them. He could end it, no never. He would pull trough, never end it that way. What was doing? Heading to where? Allan never told him, maybe he he didn't know. Was Allan pulling into death blindly? Drips and then drizzle of rain fell from the sky as he began doubting in him.

As the drizzle became a full fledged downpour Allan jumped awake. Dave looked to him using his blanket as a protector from the falling moisture. Their eyes met; for the first time Dave actually saw fear in his friend's eyes, fear of what? It could wait, however Allan already began telling him of it. "There was a thing; it was grey, but beautiful. It told me that I would, I would..." He never completed as he broke into tears them were as numerous as the rains. Then laughter, Allan was encompassed by laughter, a dark and full laugh that haunted Dave as he turned away. Was Allan insane? Perhaps, but was he? Dave gazed up at the storm that would continue until the day he died or maybe even longer.

The soul of a man sat on the balcony of a pokemon center near Vermillion. He stared with eyes other than his own into the rain that was falling into the blue hair that belonged to another. A woman with red hair in two hoop-like ends opened the door behind him. "Miss, you really should go inside." The female in the white and pink garments informed. The poor girl didn't know what was really happening. He continued to contemplate the reason he stared into the pouring clouds. "The rain amazes you huh?" The nurse asked, before he could answer she continued, "Haven't had a storm like this anywhere, except the incident in which almost three hundred trainers woke up in a port with no memory of how they got there, a big storm happened there too, of course that was three years ago." The being still did not reply. Two words muttered of his 'borrowed' lips, 'It begins.' Before that idiot woman could annoy him anymore he stormed back inside.

Another man walked though the small rainy town of Lilac twirling two injectors in his hand, the folks around him nodded and greeted him with Good Mornings and Welcome backs. He walked into one of the houses. It was a typical one, with a couple. Most of these people's relatives worked for the Institution, they were all betrayed and then robbed of their lives. Though it was his job, so he dare not complain or he may end up like them. A woman with olive eyes and a face that mirrored her daughter's came up to him. "May I help you?" She asked in a kind tone, before she could react he grabbed her and injected something into her neck, it matched the scar she had from the last time. The woman collapsed. A strong well built man came downstairs, he wasn't hard to corner and soon he fell as well. The man picked up his wakie-talkie and pressed the button. "Take her in. Everything is under control." AJ threw the device to the clean wooden floor, he hated his job.

Still raining, it was still raining. Only water, no pure sunlight, just a slimmer that broke through the endless wall of cirrus clouds. Dave looked at Allan who was busy trying to avoid sinking in the mixture that closely resembled quicksand that formed during the endless flowing of precipitation. He was normal now, as in emotionless and in the head, showing him how to avoid being swallowed by the once heated sands. Allan stopped and laid out a mat, they both sat. Finally, a break. The two used the other mat as a roof. They conversed.

"Where are we going?" Dave asked putting all of his frustrations in the one question. Allan looked into his eyes, his angst filled stare met the leader's firm glance.

"There's a shelter in this desert, or post-desert. I intend to find it. There's civilization about sixty miles from it if that's want to know." the criminal said reading Dave's eyes.

"Why didn't we head that way?!" Dave exclaimed with a burst of anger he held in for some time now.

"David, We're wanted. You're an escapee and I'm a murderer, they won't exactly want us in their city will they?" The other spoke calmly with a hint of mockery in his voice. The bastard. He was poking fun at him. Dave couldn't take it.

"That's it, I followed your 'plan' for too long!" Dave found himself exclaiming in all the hatred he had in him. The hatred for Officer Martin, the hatred of his captors, the hatred of Fourn for killing his father, and then Allan for killing the last link to his old life. That was gone now. "No more! I'm leaving!" He shouted again picking up he mat, pack, and then storming out into the fury of nature. He was leaving it all. No more.

"You'll come back, you have no where to go." Allan said looking at Dave's retreating figure, he kept walking. "You hear me?!" Allan shouted above the thundering pounding of water. "Dave?" Dave kept moving, as Allan cried for his only companion. "Please?" Keep walking. As Dave disappeared into the fog Allan again found himself laughing in hysterics. He couldn't stop it, he tried but he kept on laughing as his only companion trudged away.

"Miss, you're soaked! You really should of come inside earlier." The nurse continued to scold the man, she really was kind, though some people could take care of themselves. He found himself forced into a room that the woman probably used to torture the summoned ones. As the overprotective female left steam began fuming from the clothing on his releaser's body. Heat beats water. Raquel always found this trick of his useful. He came to this place because he heard rumors of an ancient city being found. Perhaps he would find what he sought over all things but one there. His body. He was wasting too much time already.

Nurse Joy reentered with blankets to find to her surprise, the room was empty. The strangest thing was the warm felling she got when she entered. “Must be a problem with that heater again.” the nurse assured herself. She left the room to find where her latest 'trainer in need' went. Not noticing the steam circling on the ceiling or that molten steel air duct leading to the outside.
