Two Lives, One Girl **Chapter 2 Start Of An Adventure** Hmm, no reviews for the first chapter. Please review. Flames and constructive criticism is accepted. Heck, anything is welcomed! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I stood up and looked around. Everywhere I saw pokemon. And I wasn't nervous anymore. Because I'm an avid pokemon fan I knew everything about this place. 'If I'm ten and in the pokemon world then...' "I GET TO HAVE A STARTER POKEMON!!!!!" I screeched. Then I ran down the road as fast as I could. I came to a skidding stop when I reached Professor Oak's house. Before I walked in I paused to catch my breath. Then I strode in while contemplating what to say to him. "Hello?" I called in the seemingly empty lab. "Is someone there? Wait a second please! No Bayleef, it's not Ash!" Suddenly Ash's Bayleef appeared in front of me. "Bay! Bay leef lee!" 'Ash! You are back!' "No, I'm sorry. But I'm not A-I mean, I'm not your master." Bayleef walked away sadly, her leaf drooping. "Why I'm terribly sorry about that miss. She misses Ash very much." Said Professor Oak when he walked in. I was at a loss of words for a moment. "Uh, that's okay!" "Now, why are you here?" He asked me. "I-I-I need my first pokemon!" I stammered. "Your first? But I never got anything saying there was a new trainer coming. What's your name?" I gulped, "My name is Alyssa. I'm an orphan so you might not have known about me!" I lied, well, sort of lied. My parents died in a fire when I was 4. I’m living with foster parents right now. "Hmm, orphan or not, you still need a pokemon. Tracey!" I felt my heart skip a beat. "Yes Professor Oak?" Tracey walked in holding a paper that had a Dratini with a bandaged tail drawn on it. "Do we have any pokemon that would be fit for a starter?" He asked Tracey. "I'm sure we do. What about-" Tracey started but he was cut off by Professor Oak. "Oh, I know! Wait here Alyssa." Professor Oak sprinted into the lab. "So, you are Alyssa?" Tracey asked me. "Y-yes, that's m-me." I answered. "Here it is!" Professor Oak came in holding a pokeball. He threw it and revealed... "A Vulpix! Oh, thank-you, thank-you!" I started walking out the door when Professor Oak called me back. "What?" I asked. "You need your pokedex and pokeballs!" He said. "Oh, right." I returned Vulpix to her pokeball. "Now, here's your pokedex and five pokeballs." "Uh, thanks!" I was struggling to hold all of them. "May I get a belt please?" I asked. "Why of course!" I set the things down, put on the belt, slipped my pokedex in the pouch, and put all the pokeballs in their spots. "Thank-you!" I called before exiting the lab. Then I danced and twirled around in joy. But I fell over and realized something. 'This might all be a dream!' I thought. 'But, a wonderful dream!' I got up and decided to walk around. I passed house after house after house until I found the one I was looking for: Ash's house. For a moment I pondered what I was going to say. Then I rang the doorbell. "Coming!" called Delia Ketchum, Ash's mom. My mind whirled in excitement. "Hello dear! Can I help you with anything?" She asked. "Hi. My name is Alyssa and I'm a new trainer. Could I get some advice from your son?" I asked feebly. "Yes you may! Please come in. Go upstairs and turn to the door on your left. Be sure to knock first! Oh, please call me Delia." "Okay, thank-you!" I proceeded up the stairs and turned to my left. Then I knocked. "Hello? Come in!" Ash said. I opened the door to find the messiest room I've ever seen. Pokemon video games lined the floor. Posters were everywhere. And, Ash was lying on his bed looking at me quizzically. "Who are you?" He asked. Pikachu jumped onto Ash's shoulder and cocked his head to the side. I suddenly felt red and embarrassed, "My name is Alyssa and I am a new trainer. I was wondering if you could give me some advice." A look of pride crossed over his face, "I see you've heard of the amazing Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town!" He stood up and drew himself up to full height. Then Pikachu zapped him a little. "And Pikachu." He grumbled. I struggled to restrain an outburst of laughing. "Not you, just Pikachu!" I joked. He saw I was kidding but made a scowl anyway. "So what do you want to know?" He sat down on the bed and gestured for me to sit next to him. "Everything!" I exclaimed. "Well, that's going to be hard. How about-" "Catching a pokemon?" I feebly suggested. "Okay, what's your starter?" I let Vulpix out of her pokeball. "A Vulpix! Cool starter. Fire types are stronger than grass types. So you might want to try and battle a grass type. Also, training your pokemon helps its ability and strength." "Hmm, thanks! I think I'll go now. I want to go on my adventure." I said. After returning Vulpix to her pokeball I tried walking through the mess of a room toward the door. "Wait! How about I come with you? It's boring here." I nodded and Ash grabbed his pokeballs, a newer hat, and a jacket. My hero was going to travel with me! "Ash? Are you leaving for another adventure?" asked Delia when the two came downstairs. "Yes Mom. I'll be sure to try and call you every time I get the chance!" He answered. "Okay, take care of Alyssa!" Delia waved at them from her porch. "Bye Mom!" Ash called. "Bye Delia!" I yelled. So off we went. We didn't know where, just that we were going. Who knows, I might even get to meet more of my heroes! We headed off to the lab first. Ash needed some of his pokemon, and almost got ran over by Bayleef in the process! Then we made our way out of Pallet Town and on our adventure. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know that sort of sounded like the end of the story, but it's not! I promise. More adventure soon to come! Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Then please review! Till next time! ~Kicon
