Two Lives, One Girl **Chapter 3 Wildfire!** Well, all I can say is please review!!! I LOVE getting reviews! On with the story! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Professor Oak and Tracey stood outside and waved at the two before retreating back into the lab. "Professor? Are you sure it was right of us to give Vulpix to a new trainer? You know, about Vulpix's...condition?" asked Tracey. "Of course! She'll be fine. Besides, she has Ash with her! Now, make me some cocoa!" Said Professor Oak. "Okay Professor." Tracey walked into the kitchen. "He's losing it Tracey!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ **Night Of Alyssa's Disappearance** "Aaaaaaaah!" I screamed as the portal sucked me in. "Alyssa!" Mom shrieked. Dad grabbed a bat (A/N a baseball bat!) and ran upstairs with Mom right behind him. But, when they got upstairs I was nowhere to be found. Mom fell to her knees and started sobbing. Daddy dropped the bat and knelt beside his wife. "My baby!" sobbed Mom into Dad's shoulder. "It's going to be okay. We'll find her." Said Daddy. Then he got up and called the police. Search parties were sent out and posters were put up every where. But their efforts were useless. She wasn't even on Earth. She was in the Pokemon World, and there she would stay. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "So, where are we going first?" I asked. "We're going to stop by Cerulean City to see Misty and Sharon. Then we'll go see Brock. After that we'll go get May and Max." I could barely stop myself from screaming with excitement. I was going to travel with Misty, Sharon, Brock, May, and Max! "Um, do you have a map?" I asked warily. Ash was known for his "shortcuts" and I wanted to make sure we didn't get lost. "Of course I do! Mom wouldn't let me leave without it!" He said and I laughed. We walked in silence for a while. The sky was beginning to darken. "Wanna stop here for the night?" Asked Ash. I nodded my head yes. We walked off to the side of the road and made a campfire. After that we rolled out our sleeping bags and fed our pokemon. "Here Pikachu!" Said Ash. "Charizard! Leave Bayleef alone!" He scolded. Charizard scowled and went back to his food. I laughed. "He hasn't changed, has he?" I asked, but froze as soon as those words left my mouth. Ash's head snapped up and he looked at me strangely. "What?" he asked. "Uh, I meant has he always been like that?" I hoped that he would just ignore what I let slip. After all, he wasn't too smart. Thankfully he smiled. "Yes he has!" He said. Then he looked confused. "Why isn't Vulpix eating?" I looked over to see Vulpix staring blankly into space, not even paying attention to the food in front of her. Vulpix's eyes seemed hazy and blank. Like she was sleeping with her eyes open. It looked like she was under a trance. "Vulpix?" I waved my hand in front of the fire pokemon's face. She didn't respond. I looked into Vulpix's eyes and...saw...something. Like a longing of some sort. That got me thinking. 'How many other Vulpix's are there?' 'Alot.' 'And how many are called "Vulpix"?' 'Most of them.' I finally reached a conclusion with myself. "I think she wants a name." Ash gave me a look that said 'you're crazy.' Then I glared at him. "I'm serious! It's as if she doesn't want to be called Vulpix." "Well, what are you going to name her?" He asked me. Then I had to think. 'Flame?' 'No.' 'Fire?' 'Dorky!' 'Foxtail?' 'Perfect!' "I'll call her Foxtail." I announced. Then I looked into Vulpix's eyes again. And I murmured softly: "You're now called Foxtail." Almost at once Foxtail snapped out of her trance. She looked around. First at our surrounding, then at Ash's pokemon, then at Ash, and finally me. She jumped into my arms and licked my face. "Vulpix!" 'Thank-you!' She said. "You're welcome!" I laughed out. Then Foxtail froze. And suddenly she jumped out of my arms, ran around our camp, while launching a flame thrower. The flames leaped everywhere and almost burned Ash and me. Foxtail stopped after a while and realized what she had started. Ash, his pokemon, Foxtail, and me were in the middle of a wildfire! I screamed and Foxtail ran in circles, chasing her tail. Or is it tails? I dunno. Anyway, she was completely oblivious to her surroundings. Finally, I returned her to her pokeball and looked at Ash. He had also returned his pokemon. His face was covered with fear. The crackle of the fire grew louder and we could barely hear each other over the roar. "What do we do?" I yelled in his face. "I don't know!" I felt sick to my stomach. My whole body felt cold because I was afraid. I suddenly wanted to hear my mother's voice. To hug my dad. And even to see my little sister. I looked at Ash. "Ash I'm scared!" He looked at me. His expression was one of grim determination. Then he spoke, or yelled: "It's going to be alright! We'll get out of this!" I walked over to him and clung onto his arm. The flames were already starting to reach us. "Help!" I screamed, "Help us! Anybody, help us!" Then Ash had an idea (A/N about time!). He grabbed one of his pokeballs and threw it. "Please listen to me." he whispered. And I knew which pokemon he had called out: Charizard. The orange dragon pokemon appeared and laid down, enjoying the heat. "Charizard! You need to fly us out of here!" Ash yelled at his pokemon. Charizard looked at him and then put his head down on his front, paws? I dunno...his hands. He appeared to be sleeping! At a time like this! "Grr, Charizard if-" But I cut him off. I let go of Ash's arm and crouched by the pokemon's side. I put my hand tentatively on his back. Charizard opened an eye and growled lowly. But I didn't remove my hand. He lifted his head up and looked at me. "Please Charizard. If you don't get us out of here we'll get burned and, maybe...we might even die! Charizard, you're our only hope!" Tears started filling my eyes and Charizard just stared blankly at me. Then he started to get up. I took my hand away and darted back over to Ash. Charizard had spread his wings and was beckoning us over to him! He was going to fly us out of here! We climbed onto Charizard's back, Ash in front and me in back. I closed my eyes and tightened my grip around his chest. Suddenly Charizard took off. I felt the wind in my hair and on my face but I didn't dare open my eyes. After what seemed like an eternity we landed. The fire had spread quickly and it took a while to find a safe spot to land. Fire tucks, police cars, and an ambulance came speeding over. One of the police cars and the ambulance stopped in front of us. The others went off to put out the fire and secure the area. "Ash?" It was Officer Jenny. "Who are you miss?" She asked. Officer Jenny, I was meeting one of the Officer Jenny's! Oh, I was supposed to answer the question. "Uh, Alyssa." I said. "Okay, and how old are you?" "Ten." I answered. "Hmm, a new trainer huh? Well, do you two know how this wild fire happened?" She asked. I gulped. "I'm afraid it was my fault. See my Vulpix, Foxtail, started launching a flamethrower for some reason. I'm very sorry." I looked down at the ground, embarrassed. "Well, new trainers can't control their pokemon very well. But you might want to train your Vulpix better! Wait, a Vulpix!?" "Yes, Professor Oak gave me Foxtail as a starter." I said. "Jenny! Boy alert!" Shouted one of the other officers. "Oh no." Officer Jenny sighed. Then she stood stock still in front of us and waited. For what, I have don't know exactly. Though I have an idea. Then we saw another car coming down the road. It was a blue sports car. The car stopped in front of Jenny. A girl with red hair got out the driver's side. She instantly went over to the fire and brought out a Staryu. Out of the passenger side came a boy. I couldn't see him at first, but I thought it was- "Oh my beautiful Jenny! Come with me and we shall find out the meaning of true love! The first stop: a romantic din-OW!" It was Brock. Someone had hit him on the head with a mallet and dragged him off. Wait, a mallet? 'It couldn't be…Could it?' The girl came walking over. "I'm sorry Officer Jenny, he promised he'd beha-" But she stopped, staring at us. Or, actually, staring at Ash. "A-Ash?" She stuttered. That girl was Misty Waterflower, the Cerulean City gym leader. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!
