Number Eight: The Return of Cody “How ya doin, el crappy Tanner?” He asked. He then grabbed a handful of Pokeballs and enlarged them. After that, he threw them all at the Beedrill I had weakened. “Those are my Beedrill, idiot!” I screamed as every single one went in and popped into the air. “I didn’t see you catching them.” He said, walking over to the spot where the Beedrill once were. “I was gonna,” I muttered, and then I looked at the ground, “Where’d the Pokeballs go?” “Didn’t you know? You can only hold six Pokemon at a time. The extras go to the Pokemon Center of your choice.” “Oh.” I muttered once again. “I guess that means you don’t have six Pokemon yet.” He commented, walking over to me. “I don’t want a lot of Pokemon. When you have too many, it’s hard to train them!” I screamed in his face. “I bet if you had six, you wouldn’t be saying that.” Cody teased, “How many do you have anyway? Or are you going on a no-Pokemon quest? Take your time, I know you’re a little slow.” “I’m not telling!” “I bet all you have is a Pidgey and a stupid Rattata.” I almost cried, before Wing evolved an hour ago, that was all I had. “Nope, what about Char? He’s a Charmeleon now!” I yelled proudly. “And?” “And I challenge you to a one-on-one battle!” “Okay, go Wartortle!” Cody let out the evolved form of his first Pokemon, Squirtle. “Oh, your starter has evolved,” I said, “Then I’ll use my third Pokemon! Go, Biter!” I let out my Rattata. “Your Rattata hasn’t evolved yet! Mine evolved a week ago and I stored it! You’re a loser!” “Biter, use Bite!” I commanded. “What a crappy name.” Cody commented, “I bet you eat extra paint chips on the days you name your Pokemon.” I looked at Biter, then Biter looked at Wartortle. We were mad. “Ta!” He yelled as he jumped and bit Wartortle. “Tort!” Wartortle cried in agony. Wartortle was hurting way too much. Biter didn’t produce a Bite; it was a Hyper Fang. “Your Rattata’s strong.” Cody muttered, running to aid his Pokemon. After stumbling, Wartortle fell and it was clear he fainted. “What was that, Biter?” I asked my Rattata. Cody stared at my small and purple Pokemon. “Ta ratta?” He wondered aloud. He suddenly started to glow like Wing and Char did. He evolved into Raticate. “Your wimpy Pokemon evolved.” Cody said shortly, falling to the ground. “All three of my Pokemon evolved in one day!” I said, running to my newly- evolved Pokemon.
