A Vampires Way PART 1 How early is death? "What am I doing?" Auron asked himself under his breath. He looked into Happy's eyes filling with wordiness of Auron's next move. Auron still held a knife high above Happy's head. Auron couldn't resist it one side of his body trying not to hurt Happy while the other was determined to stab her to death. He still had a gash on the side of his body bleeding on to the alley ground. Happy tried to sound as normal as possible but her worried side took over. Her voice sounding weak tried to say, "Auron, please don't!" But instead it came out as a weakened mumbled. "I can't help it! I don't know what’s going on anymore. It seems like all my memories have drowned in my past. You would just never understand," He said. Aurons dark blue eyes glistened in the moonlight. Happy looked him in the eyes, "You can't do this, Auron." She said her voice shallower than waves coming ashore and padding the golden sand. Auron looked at her and dropped his knife onto the alleys ground. He then fell to his knees. "Auron...are you ok?" Happy asked. There was no answer. "Just listen.... cast your soul to the sky on the stormy nights like to night...when nothing seems right. Where the wind blows harder, demanding you to stop." Happy paused. "Please don't do this!" She finished and grabbed Auron's arm. "Always remember me! Because I'll never forget you." She said into his ear. Auron jerked her until she let go. Happy could tell he was urging to tell her something but she just didn't know what. "Just tell me!" She said. Auron ignored her and kept walking. When Auron faded away into the empty streets Happy sat down in the blood puddle from his wound. She just sat in the puddle, her purple skirt know a faded brown. She covered her face and sat there. The moon shined down on Happy. When she dropped a tear her tears glistened on the way down to the ground. PART 2 The Silence of this Broken Home Happy finally stood up. She wiped away her tears. When she sat up and brushed her skirt, the light purple one she always wore, now a faded brown. She looked into the sky. “Auron,” she said out loud. She grabbed the knife he was about to kill her with and held it tight. She held it until it slid out of her hand, making her bleed. “It seemed like meeting him was all a mistake,” Happy started. “ All our laughs turned into our miserable cries. All our memories drowned in my past. And most of all our love turned into fragile…hate!” Happy yelled. Happy leaned against the alley wall. She leaned into the wall and took out a picture of her and Auron at her house one night. Though you could never find his smile, nor make him laugh, you could always find his heart; wherever you went. His smile cold. His words suffocating you from his elegance and romance. He always found his love for Happy deep inside. It seemed like only Happy was the one that could actually help. Happy then remembered the knife he had left their had something engraved on it, but she never looked at it closely. She went over and picked it up. On the knife said a date… 13 Jan. 1997. Was their something special on that day? “But… that was a Friday. I remember the day al the lights went out, and a house nearby burnt to the ground only leaving ashes, killing a family. Only a mother, father, and 2 kids,” Happy said thinking about the fire. “Auron? Did he kn-” Happy started and then stared at the knife. “No…it couldn’t have been him.” Happy’s eyes filled up with tears. “Happy?” Auron tapped her shoulder. “Auron, does this mean anything?” Happy asked. Auron ripped the knife out of her hands. Happy then stood up. Auron walked ahead a little ,but then Happy grabbed him by the hand. “Does it?” She asked again. “Does it? Does it mean anything? Yes it does, it’s just something I never thought I could forget. The only thing I really ever knew about any of my family was… they never cared. They died will I ever miss them? Never,” Auron looked away at the sky. “The night all the power went out. Were you their?” “No… I just walked away from everything in my life, not worrying about my fears. Though they were destined to come again.” “Did they?” “Only know they did.” “What? What is your fear?” “The fear of killing the ones you love, knowing they’ll never come back. Just like before. The blood went through my veins, the outside of me urging me not to. I’ve never told you… I never thought you would be that responsible, but you must have proved me wrong.” “What is it. Please tell me.” “At night theirs the ones who rome out at night, arriving and leaving while the night lessens until the sun arrives. Leaving yourself alone in the dark places. Nothing they do would hurt you, since the one I love…. Is actually you… the only one that cares.” Auron looked away. “You are, aren’t you?” “My reflection in the mirror is only the… the moonlight sky.” “A…vampire?” Happy’s words slowly became weak. “Everything is true only if you believe.” “Auron.” “Only the ones who find the truth… deep inside my fragile hate of everything, but you.” “Auron…I…I…” Happy paused and wrapped her arms around Auron. “ I can never give up my hope.” Happy held her arms tight around Auron.
