Epilogue - Warning

'Ash, Misty, Brock! Lunch is ready!' trilled a voice from the kitchen.

'Coming, Mom,' Ash replied, his eyes still glued to the television screen. Pikachu was sitting on his head, watching with rapt attention.

Brock was slumped next to him and Misty was snoozing in the opposite sofa, holding a squealing Togepi. She had fallen asleep when Ash and Brock had decided to watch Elite Four Bruno's match (victory) against yet another of the League's challengers which had been on Pokebattle Planet. They had shown it one week ago, and Misty had decided she had better things to do then watch it again, namely, sleep.

'Brock, maybe we should go,' Ash mumbled, as the aroma floated into the living room and his stomach grumbled in agreement.

'Yeah,' Brock said slowly.

Suddenly, Misty snorted in her sleep and woke them from their awed trance.

'Yeah,' Brock repeated, rising from the coach, 'Let's go.'

Ash turned to Misty and shook her hard, 'Misty, let's go. It's lunch.'

Misty yawned and stumbled to her feet, 'Okay. Turn of the television.'

'No, it's okay,' Ash said quickly, 'We can leave it on.'

'Uh-huh,' Brock agreed, with a quick glance at the screen before following Ash and Misty into the kitchen.

Five minutes after they'd left and halfway through the match the television screen flashed white and a robotic man's voice said 'And we interrupt Bruno Battles for a special announcement from the Pokemon Welfare Society.'

A woman appeared on screen in a navy blue suit with a sincere expression of concern plastered on her face.

'Today it has been discovered that Kangaskhan which had been at one point almost extinct is once more more on the endangered Pokemon list. Pokemon numbers have been dropping drastically as more and more poachers appear on the scene. Persian, too, is vanishing as hunters slaughter it in order to sell it's skin on the black market. Ryhorn too is disappearing as people kill it in order to obtain harder, sharper materials for their weapons. In countries where Mareeps are not bred for meat (eg. Kanto) Tauros are being murdered for their flesh and hide which is used to make food as well as clothes. Please if the Pokemon disappear from our planet we ourselves will not be able to go on. Please try and realize the mistake we are making by killing off all these Pokemon...'

But by the time, the humans realized it was too late.
