This is NOT my first fic, but it is for this web site. This is my first Pokemon fic though, so be easy on me. Thanx. DISCLAIMER: I don't own Pokemon but I do own the character Nicole. And um.... That's it, so later dayz, on to the fic!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1: I Live in the Shadows I don't know why but I've always hated light. The shadows seem to be more comforting and I've always hidden myself in them. Maybe it's just me, but the light seems so intruding, so scary. Why kids are afraid of the dark is beyond me, but the dark is so much better. It's a perfect cover-up to hide your fears in. Although I hate being outside, I've always dreamed about being a Pokemon trainer. It's the only dream I've ever had, the only dream I've ever tried to follow. Everything else is a waste of my time. But hey, it's a dream and it's my only dream. I doubt I'd be here without hope that the dream would come true. "Nicole? Time for dinner," shouted my mother. My gawd, she's one of the most foul creatures in the world. She's always been the one to try and squash that dream and make me a perfect girl that'd be here to support her financially the rest of her pathetic life. She thinks if she can get rid of my dream, she can find some little rich boy to marry me and get HER money. As for my dad, he died when I was six. He would've encouraged me to go for it. But I gues when he left, my inspiration sort of went out of me. I walk downstairs and my mom frowns upon my appearance. Well, gawd, does she expect me to walk down with some pink friggin dress on? "Couldn't you wear something more presentable, Nicole?" I look her in the eye. "No." I sit down. "Serve the friggin dinner already, I have more important things to do," I snapped. She nodded timidly and set the food on the table. I ate the crap quickly and ran upstairs. First, I grabbed my PokeGear, PokeNav and Poke Balls. Then I grabbed a purse, put some money and food in it and zipped it. I grabbed everything else, put in a a huge red backpack and threw it all out the window. Then, I made a blanket rope and slid out my bedroom window. It was finally time to start what I had been aiming to do since I was 5. Now, 11 years later, I was finally on my journey. At last. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So... Um... How is it? Stay tuned! Plz review! Bai!! --Lil Blue Suicune
